On June the 14th the constitutional court in Belgium stated that prohibition of wearing religious signs in an establishment of higher education does not constitute a violation of freedom of religion nor a violation of the right to human dignity which includes the right to education.
This declaration meant that Hijab-wearing women don’t have the right to get higher education. Some will, unfortunately, give up on their dreams and some will be forced to remove the hijab to get an education.
“I was in a school establishment where wearing a hijab was forbidden. Therefore, every morning, when I go to school, I had to take it off and put it in my bag. I had the feeling that I was enduring microaggressions from a system that was supposed to protect me”.

A gentle reminder to all that the first university the world ever saw was founded by a Muslim woman. Today, we have to beg to be able to wear a hijab and get an education at the same time — both of which are fundamental rights that our women are being stripped of.

Thats 78 million. There are at least 78 million aces in the world.
The country of France has around 67 and a half million people. There are more asexuals than there are French people.
Furthermore, 1% is a conservative estimate. There are other sources that say that as many as 5% of the global population is ace. So at minimum, there are more aces than French folk. Or maybe there’s as many of 390 million of us. Thats more than the current population of the United States.
Finally. My people outnumber the French. We may win yet.

There should be room in our community for people who aren’t happy that they’re aspec. There should be space for their grief, anger, and sadness to be felt and processed without it being seen as aphobic. Support from other aspecs will allow for this processing to be done so those feelings don’t stick with them anymore. They are not the opponent, the people who made them feel that way are.
If you’re aspec and haven’t accepted it yet, I see you. I’m here to support you. It can be a hard thing to realize about yourself. I hope that soon, your aspec identity will make you happy.
