Elizabeth: The Unseen Queen

A treasure trove of footage of the Queen taken from her personal film archive is to be shown for the first time, including clips of the young princess showing off her engagement ring months before the announcement was made public.

The monarch granted documentary-makers unprecedented access to hundreds of home recordings filmed by her, her parents and the Duke of Edinburgh to mark her upcoming Platinum Jubilee.

The home movies, which had been held privately by the Royal Collection in the vaults of the British Film Institute (BFI), capture the Queen’s life from being pushed in a pram by her mother to her coronation in 1953.

The 75-minute documentary, titled Elizabeth: The Unseen Queen, includes the first extended visit of Prince Philip to Balmoral in 1946 while the couple’s engagement was still private.

It features a delighted Princess Elizabeth showing the camera her engagement ring.

The BBC documentary will depict rare moments including footage of Princess Elizabeth with her uncle Prince George.

The Duke of Kent, who died in a plane crash in 1942 while on active service, and the King’s last visit to Balmoral in 1951 will also feature.

It will also show the Queen as a young mother with the King and Queen fond grandparents to Prince Charles and Princess Anne.

BBC Studios reviewed more than 400 reels of film, discovering lost newsreel and behind-the-scenes recordings of state events, believed to have been privately commissioned by the royal family.

Filmmakers listened to more than 300 of the Queen’s speeches, spanning over eight decades, to make the film which will be narrated by the Queen’s own voice and words alongside newsreel audio.

Just like. once a month, Alma and Louis go spend one week with Stede and Ed. It’s supposed to be safe, like in one week they can’t go far, but then anything goes at sea. They got attacked twice. It’s a shared agreement to not tell Doug and Mary. Alma starts idolizing Jim because they’re so cool. Louis has the whole crew melting and spoiling him. When she’s 12, Alma enters a pirate phase and yes, Mary gives a look at Stede “You realize this is because of you, right?” “Yes, sorry” (he’s not. he’s ecstatic. his heart breaks when at 13 Alma finds pirates are lame now). Meanwhile Louis is learning how to steal and where to stab a man between a cooking and sewing lesson. When he gets interested in fashion, Louis uses the crew as models, and everyone has to be nice and supportive even when he gets experimental. Stede has to stop the crew from teaching Alma how to cheat at poker. She still learns how to cheat at poker. Families of kids being mean to them will find themselves attacked by pirates when they first go on sea after it happened. Alma and Louis are unstoppable.

Okay hc for misunderstood!loki which is canon anyway Tom says so and this isn’t really a hc more like proof.

So in actual mythology Loki gives gifts to people to apologise to them or thank them and they’re always hella huge gifts like whole worlds or incredible materials stuff like that. And in the myths as well every time he gifts something to someone they turn on him and punish him for it they beat him and kill everyone he loves and exile him and shun him.

And he’s still trying to apologise now but he just can’t seem to get it right he’s apologising for his previous gifts by doing things that people see as a threat because from all of the past misunderstandings he’s been labelled as evil and always up to no good and everything he does now when he gets ‘defeated’ if him being punished again for trying.

Yeah he’s not a ‘good person’ even in the original myths he kills steals etc to get his gifts to give but that’s just him. To him the “it’s the thought that counts” sentiment is more like “it’s the amount of effort you put into getting the thing that counts” so of course he’s gonna try his damnedest to do very complicated things that usually end in people getting hurt or killed cuz like damn that’s a LOT of effort that’s a big apology or a big thank you.

And at this point he’s still kind of hoping that someone eventually accepts his gift but after being shut down so many times and called evil he’s just become what everyone told him he was even though the thought driving everything he does is ‘what can I do to make up for last time?’

Other than that though he simply cannot back down from a challenge. If something seems impossible he will go for it like come on. Just to prove himself because everything he’s ever done has been looked down upon and he’s been called worthless or argr so many times he just has to show people that he can do it. He does what he’s not supposed to do only because he sees it as a challenge. And when people *coughAVENGERScough* make whatever it is he’s trying to do (like give an apology gift) harder we’ll damn he can’t not do whatever it takes.
