#intersex positivity

LIVE

It’s OK to want enby/intersex on your ID!

There’s differing opinions on the benefit of having the option to choose non-binary or intersex identifiers on your identification documents (driver license, birth certificate, etc).

But this is a reminder that it’s totally fine if you are excited to change your documents! You do not contribute to your own oppression by seeking an avenue that is validating your identity.

idiealotdontworry:

shoutout to intersex aros and aces we really do deal with too fucking much. from being told our bodies invalidate our orientation, to being told our orientations exist only because our bodies are “wrong”, to being alienated from and isolated in intersex spaces, etc etc it’s a lot and im rooting for all of us.

Intersex people, you don’t have to change for the world. Right now, in this very moment, the way you exist is perfect. No matter what anyone has told you, no matter what society has made you think; you are living proof of the beauty of nature. You are allowed to do whatever you want or need with your body. You can express your gender (or lack thereof) in whatever way feels right.

This is your life, no one else’s, and you deserve all the kindness and joy the world has to give. Intersexness is good. I am so happy you exist.

mlmincrime:

I haven’t seen any posts about this, but to the intersex people who identify as a gender they were not assigned at birth but consider themselves cis: you are COMPLETELY VALID in doing so.

AFAB intersex people who identify as cis men, you are valid.

AMAB intersex people who identify as cis women, you are valid.

Intersex people whose gender identities, regardless of assignment, don’t make sense to perisex people, you are all so validanddon’t need to explain yourselves.

death-mogai:

intersex bodies are just as natural and regular as perisex bodies, the only difference is that perisex bodies are more common. being intersex is not a birth defect in the same way being a perisex woman is not a birth defect. nothing broke, nothing is “wrong” with us, we are just less common.

being a perisex woman or a perisex man isn’t a medical condition and neither is being intersex. when our intersex conditions cause other health complications it is not because we are intersex, it is because of a medical condition associated with being intersex.

a person with a uterus who has endometriosis isn’t experiencing a symptom of having a uterus they are experiencing endometriosis.

intersex bodies are heavily medicalized. they are treated as problems that need to be solved, but being intersex isn’t a medical condition. we don’t need to be diagnosed and forced through “treatment” to make us as close to perisex as possible, we need support, awareness, and acceptance.

tldr; intersex bodies are just as natural as perisex bodies. intersex existence needs to stop being medicalized

It took me a while because I love the Care Bears and I couldn’t just choose one, but @carebearsnotdiscourse, I think I’d like to be Sea Friend Bear! They’re the most relatable for me.

Welcome to Care-a-Lot Sea Friend Bear, it’s so wonderful to meet you! I also grew up watching the care bears daily and to me, this blog is a little bit of heaven haha.

That said, many apologies for my late reblog of this post. I just kept forgetting if I’m being honest :/
