I repainted Jacen twice, and Jaina 6 times before giving up. I never read beyond the Yuuzhan Vong stuff, as i found it to be a fitting end, based on the books I did read in the EU. Like everything lead up to that, and then you know… Empire.. Republic.. Working together, nice stuff. Also, chiss had no pupils in Legends, and same facial bone structure as humans, which is why they were painted differently here. Also painted Stent like that one Thrawn image..
In order: Thrawn, Jacen, Jaina, Mara Jade, Karrde, Jag, Stent and Pellaeon.
I decided to make some collages dedicated to my favorite fictional families, and I wanted to start with the famous and fantastic family who live in a Galaxy far far away… The Skywalker Family! Here, three different collages about the Skywalker Family in three versions (the Sequel Trilogy’s version is excluding, obviously):
in Lucas’s Hexalogy
in the Expanded Universe/Legends
and in Lucas’s sequels (who they have never seen the light, because of Disney )
I just want to clarify that: I have not included Padmé Amidala/Naberrie and Han Solo, because they are related with the Skywalker Family only through marriage, and I wanted included only the blood relatives, and by the way, I have not included other Skywalker members from EU, like Allana, Cade, ecc. because I was interested in including only Luke’s and Leia’s children.
Jacen Solo: He turned to the dark side and became Darth Caedus for bring peace to the Universe and prevent a dark future from happening, for a greater good (although this does not excuse his bad deeds);
Ben (as)Solo: He turned to the dark side and became Kylo Ren because “hE dIdN’t fEeL lOvEd eNoUgH bY hIs fAmIlY”. Translation: he was just a spoiled child.
Heather as Tenel Ka Djo (original Young Jedi Knights outfit) from the Star Wars: Young Jedi Knights series (feat. Nate in YJK Jacen Solo)
I was going to try to finish some YJK armor for Katsucon 2012 but wanted to go with something a little less complicated since I was running out of time and I already had an asscape I wanted to use in a TK costume. It ended up becoming a side-waist-cape sort of thing, but still YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT ASSCAPE-LIKE THINGS! I got to reuse my scales from my Tempest costume and in a different fashion even, which was cool. They sort of became shoulder armor instead of straight-up sleeves (still as heavy as ever though, hehe).
YJK costumes also meant I could be pre-Lightsabers Tenel Ka and have both arms present! And pick up random sticks from the beach~

Yesterday in a Galaxy Next Door is really turning out to be a fun Alternate Universe, hehehehehehe.

“Some called her Lady Caedus for a time until there were whispers of a new designation, which came only after rumors of traitors in the Hapan Council. Those against her went after the most important things: first, her daughter, then the control of her court and finally the safety of her people. She had been a force to reckon with as Tenel Ka Chume Ta’ Djo, but now with supposed new powers and Darth Caedus – often rumored to be Allana Djo’s father – on her side, her grandmother’s supporters finally began to do what they should have done from the start. Fear the Queen Mother.”
Another AU for the Alternate Universe section of the project, this one is called “The Galaxy Can Burn” and gathers some highlights from some odd timeline where Tenel Ka joins Caedus after something happens to Allana. We know that TK would never go dark/give scrublord Caedus the time of day at this point but it’s always fun coming up with this crazy stuff so why not have a Sith AU? ;)
P.S. Kinda wish we got a photo of Nate’s face after taking the picture in the middle. His mouth and nose were covered with stage blood. I MEAN… HIS FACE WAS COVERED IN THE BLOOD OF HIS ENEMIES…?
P.S.S. The lighting for the photos made it really easy to hide my left arm so I guess we need this light always and forever when cosplaying Jacen and Tenel Ka. :B
Heather as Tenel Ka Djo (original Queen Mother outfit #3 of A BIG NUMBER??? of original outfits) from the Star Wars: Legacy of the Force series (feat. Nate in pre-Caedus Jacen & Nic as Ania Solo! <3)
I was aiming to finish a costume of the image of Tenel Ka on the back of the Fate of the Jedi: Conviction novel for Dragon*Con 2011 but ran out of time with all the other stuff we were trying to put together for the con that year, so I thought WHY NOT JUST MAKE ANOTHER ORIGINAL OUTFIT? So I did.
I’m actually going to do the Conviction outfit someday I WILL, I SWEAR.
I had a lot of fun in this at D*C ‘11 during the giant EU photoshoot and wore it again to Katsucon 2014 where we found a Jaina and Jag(!!!!)/made new friends because of the costumes – so thanks, EU! :D
Nate & Heather as Jacen Solo & Tenel Ka Djo from the Star Wars: Young Jedi Knights series
We originally made these a long while ago (Heather’s first version of YJK Tenel Ka was made a bit before her and Nate even met) and have worn and modified them multiple times since. These are two of our favorites characters and we have so much fun in Jacen & Tenel Ka costumes – especially these since the YJK books are close to our hearts.
Nate’s Jacen was originally made worn at Balticon 2010 (the middle photo in the second row is from that con) and then again at both Katsucon&Dragon*Conin2012 (plus a number of out of con shoots and such since then). The version of YJK Tenel Ka seen here was first made and worn at Dragon*Con 2012 (with Jesse & Jean as Teneniel Djo & Ta’a Chume! <3333) and then fixed up (added edging to some of the shoulder armor, remade the scales for parts of the shoulderpiece that were originally made from fabric out of Wonderflex and added lacing to the front of the outer piece of shoulder armor) for an outdoor shoot in 2014, which is where the last photo is from.
This is one of the only Tenel Ka costumes Heather can have her left arm out for and that’s only when she doesn’t have the lightsaber. She’s slipped a couple times in photos with the lightsaber (let’s pretend it’s the first/rushed one, hehehe), but has gotten so used to posing without showing her left arm that she does it in non-Tenel Ka costumes now sometimes as well. XD
We put some new shirts up on our Redbubble shop! (And there’s also one old one listed here cause we added some products/colors for it. ;D)
Feels Are the Language of Friendship (which comes in that font and can be found in a less cursive-y font in the shop as well) was something said to Heather by a friend of hers while talking about some of the characters in the Star Wars: Expanded Universe. Heather instantly fell in love with it and wanted it on a shirt so there you go.
Stay Inside is a shirt inspired by Futaba Sakura from Persona 5. Heather is cosplaying her at MAGLabs at the end of the month and needed a shirt for her costume so she made one on RB. The image is down sort of low on it because, for the costume, the neck of it will need to be cut lower and hemmed so it hangs off the shoulders.
AndYoung Jedi Knight Squad Goals, which, if you read those books when you were younger (or whenever, really!) then you know that feel. ;)

This costume (and pieces of it for different versions of Jacen) has been worn so many times and there’s fun to be had in it every single time it’s worn. Whether he is getting scolded by Leias or finding out how many fucks Tenel Ka has to give about his MAGICAL PLANS (spoiler alert: it’s none) – it’s always a wild ride. Just like the Legacy of the Force books were.
Also, this is another case of “holy crap jacen please get some new clothes this is like another jumpsuit with some armor on top” – we have many ideas for original Jacen/Caedus outfits in the works thanks to @djosolo SO PHEW. Boy’s finally gonna get something that’s not a jumpsuit and maybe even some damn jewel tones.
(We still have those contacts sitting somewhere and they’re really old now… we need to throw them out. XD)

I did some character designs for the Solo kids because a) they are near and dear to my heart and b) I love designing costumes tbh. Also idk here they’re maybe 18 and 16, respectively?
Basically as we’ve already established (in my head, not in sort of canon, fight me) Jaina looks like Han, mostly, Jacen looks more like Leia and Anakin is a mix with The Blue Eyes ™. So anyway:
- recently I had the idea that Jaina’s like hella good at brawling/fist fighting and thus cogito-ergo-dumb suggested I add hand wraps to her design - Jacen has an earring I literally just read this in a fic and I thought SON IT MAKES NO SENSE BUT I WANT - Nik has appropriated his father’s old spacer jacket (which is like five hundred years old and has seen hell and back) and wears it ninety percent of the time even though its still kinda big for him because he says it’s his Lucky Jacket - Jaina’s hair is generally in a state of unkempt madness but she’s always got at least one braid running through it, because Mom always braids her hair and its just a Thing, okay - at least one Smashball jersey is owned between the three of them - Jaina and Anakin are around the same height but Jacen has like three inches on the two of them. All three are taller than their mother, but it’s the twins who have inherited the beanpole genes; Nik’s just average - Nik’s boots are hella rad - when she’s not dressed in flight suits, Jaina’s wardrobe is actually pretty soft and baggy; slippers and leggings are featured a lot. - Jaina teases Jacen for like a million years because Anakin grew facial hair before he did - all three of them are all pokey elbows and skinny torsos - also Jaina has like no boobs idk - the Lopsided Grin (copywrite Harrison Ford) is also a shared trait - as is the Haughty Eyebrows (tm Carrie Fisher) - Jaina has really long slender fingers and she’s super happy with them - Jacen always has dirt on the knees of his pants - and grass poking out of the oddest corners of his clothing - also engine grease smudges are to be found on most of Jaina’s clothing - Nik got a super rad multitool from his big sister for his tenth birthday and he keeps it on his person at all times - they’re all really hot - yeah
I really like the old EU Skywalker-Solo family (Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin). I’ve been reading a lot of old Star Wars novels lately, so that probably contributes to why I like them so much.
