Okay, so I know we all think we know exactly what should have happened or how it could’ve been better. But as of now I actually really liked TROS.
Now, I think the reason I am so cool with it is that while I’m heartbroken my baby boy is dead, especially after bendemption, I think Rey’s reaction wasn’t all bad.
She just spent the entire battle with Palpetine removing herself from hatred and anger and connecting with all thr Jedi’s of a thousand generations.
When Ben disappears, his body fading to become one with the force as per Jedi standards, I think if anything, it would be comforting.
He will always be with her, and any lingering doubts she could’ve possible had are gone. He has been redeemed, and become the Jedi he was meant to be. And now he will live on within her and she will never be alone.
I decided to make some collages dedicated to my favorite fictional families, and I wanted to start with the famous and fantastic family who live in a Galaxy far far away… The Skywalker Family! I just want to clarify that: I have not included Padmé Amidala/Naberrie and Han Solo, because they are related with the Skywalker Family only through marriage, and I wanted included only the blood relatives, and by the way, I have not included other Skywalker members from EU, like Allana, Cade, ecc. because I was interested in including only Luke’s and Leia’s children.
Ben has the biggest sneezes in the galaxy and Rey makes fun of him for it.
Ben: *sneezes very loudly*
Rey, from another room: Did someone let a Rancor into the house? I think we may need to get the falcon checked if it’s making that kind of noise. Did you check if you left the engine on? It sounds like something just blew a fuse.
Drew one of my fave EU chars for this May the Fourth be with You, Ben Skywalker! I got into the Star Wars books in junior high and read a lot of them all the way thru high school—somehow managing to read Fate of the Jedi before Legacy of the Force and being absolutely confused about so many things (see: “WAIT…Luke has a son???”). Those books and characters are very special to me, with some dang good characters I grew pretty attached to over the years, Ben being high up on that list for his well-written arcs and wittiness I appreciate
May the Fourth Be With You! Featuring Ben Skywalker from the Star Wars Legends AKA, my canon! He was the first Next Gen EU character I really got attached to—I read Last of the Jedi in high school before LotF—and overall really well written. This isn’t exactly new (drew it last year after reading through the Legacy of the Force books), but this 4th crept up on me so I didn’t have a thing prepared! Might try to get a sketch in later today, we’ll see…
