LIVE

I often ask myself, am I afraid to be happy? And the truth is sometimes I am. And I think many people are. We may think we’re not worthy of happiness, we don’t know how to find happiness, what does happiness look like in our life, happiness versus joy, or simply… we may not know how to break the patterns. In this video, I talk about my journey in finding how to be happy in life, and how I handle set backs. Can you relate? Let me know in the comments.

Taking some time to take a Patreon conversation over to YouTube. It’s easy for us to get stuck in friendships because we may have insecurities or fears that lead us to people pleasing, or we have fear of abandonment. Many things may get us stuck in relationships that may no longer serve us. Like most things in life, friendships can have an expiration date. We may have gotten the nutrients out of our friendship that we need, and it may no longer serve us. But we may get stuck in friendships because we’re afraid of what may happen, or how we may appear, if we let them go. This video is all about ending friendships, why friendships end, how to get over an ex friend, how to end a friendship and so much more. Kati Unfiltered is a series that I’m starting to give you an unfiltered lens into my life. My personal stories, my personal challenges, what I’m going through. Although I am a mental health vlogger and mental health podcast host, along with a therapist, I am talking to you as a human. I may have different experiences than you that help me see situations differently, but I am also human. And I wanted to create a series that allows me to be open about my life, my fears, my challenges and also, the good things in my life. So, welcome to my world.

Today we are going to talk about child on child sexual abuse, because it’s not often talked about and there are so many issues and misconceptions out there, which is why today I want to offer 10 MUST KNOW FACTS,  from shame, to abuse cycles, and trauma, to parental response and so much more. And really quickly on the topic of trauma I want to remind you all that my new book Traumatized is available now, in it I talk about what trauma is, how it can feel, and of course, how we can heal. You can order your copy today by clicking the link in the description or find it wherever books are sold. Unfortunately, children abuse other children. This could be because they themselves are being sexually abused by someone, or have viewed sexually explicit materials and are acting out what they saw. This isn’t commonly talked about because it can be hard to imagine it happening, and even harder to view a child as a perpetrator. But it is common, and therefore it’s important that we discuss it, which is why I am going to explain the 10 must know facts about it, so let’s get into it. This video will cover child on child abuse, sexual abuse for children, child abuse therapy, what is child abuse, child abuse help, sexual abuse support for kids, what is sexual abuse, childhood trauma, childhood ptsd, ptsd and much more.

TRAUMATIZED -  available here: https://geni.us/Bfak0j Today I’m sharing 7 ways we can help someone with PTSD (also known as post traumatic stress disorder) because, frequently I’m asked by members of our community how they can help those they love, or they feel like they are always doing the wrong things and want to know how to make it right. These 7 tips I’m offering today are very helpful, but I really dive into these topics deeper in my new book Traumatized, so if this is something you really need support with, I strongly suggest really digging deeper here to best support our loved ones. In this video I’ll talk a little bit through PTSD symptoms, PTSD support, how to help someone with PTSD, and so much more.

Hey everybody today we are going to address 6 misconceptions about post traumatic stress disorder or PTSD. I have been doing my best to talk more about PTSD and the effects of it because my new book Traumatized is available for preorder now and it comes out Sept 7th! It’s my hope that by talking more about trauma, we reduce the stigma associated with it, and those struggling will more quickly reach out for professional help. Because it can and will get better! Now I’m touching on these misconceptions top-level, but to understand this deeper and really find solutions, I strongly recommend doing your own research on this topic. I break trauma down a lot deeper in my new book. Okay, now let’s jump into those misconceptions.

Joy Oladokun shares her experience growing up in Arizona, being the only black person in her area, and how that affected her. She also shares her struggles with self injury,  and trauma, and how therapy has helped her process all she has been through and heal. I appreciate her taking the time to share her mental health journey with us and I hope you found it as insightful as I did.

The past year and half has been overwhelming. With the isolation that came along with the pandemic, the divisive nature of conversations online, and Sean and I moving halfway across the country, it’s just been a lot. I have been doing my best to work through it all, but I have to be honest, I am not feeling my best. I am burnt out and need to find new ways to better care for myself, which is what I am doing now. I only shared this because I hope that anyone out there who is feeling similarly knows that they aren’t alone, and nothing is wrong with us for feeling this way. It’s been a tough 18 months, and I think it’s normal for us to struggle as we work through it.

In January of this year (2022), I released a video about the 5 General Types of Dissociation. That video, at this time, has 829 comments! Ranging from personal experience with dissociation, or questions about dissociation, or just your thoughts about the forms of dissociation: maladaptive daydreaming, dissociative identity disorder, depersonalization, derealization and dissociative amnesia. If you don’t know these types, or have more questions like  what is dissociation ? or what is dissociation like ? or help with dissociation ? or what types of dissociation there are, that video can help answer those. Here I am just addressing the comments and the general themes I saw on that video.
