Three years ago I made a video on Overcoming Childhood Emotional Neglect (see link below). Since I released that video, it has received over 6,600 comments! With all of these comments and questions, I decided to make a follow-up video to further talk about some of these themes. Want another video like this?

In this video I’m talking about the 5 types of dissociation AND how to deal with them. I’ll speak to these 5 common types: maladaptive daydreaming, dissociative identity disorder, depersonalization, derealization and dissociative amnesia. I’ll also talk about what dissociation is like. So whether you’re wondering what is dissociation ? or what is dissociation like ? or dissociation help ? or what types of dissociation , I am here to answer your questions.

I made a video a month ago about 7 ways religion can be traumatizing (see link below). You guys left a lot of comments (798 to be exact) and so many of them were such great points, I wanted to expand on them to help viewers. One of the comments I saw a lot over and over were regarding shame and religion, or religious shame, and why churches shame us into behaving a certain way. Another comment I saw a lot was around LGBTQ+ religious questions, whether your minister told you that being gay was a lie, or you weren’t accepted in your church for being a member of the LGBTQ+ community. As someone who grew up in a very religious household, and very active in church, I found the benefits of church. But I also see that religious trauma syndrome is a real thing, and I have researched and heard so many stories of it. And I often get questions: do I have religious trauma? Signs of religious trauma? Religious trauma symptoms? or how do I leave a church? At the end of the day, religion should make us feel more connected to self and others, and if your church is making you feel hurt or separate, then it may be time to walk away.

In this video I dive deep into religious abuse and toxic church culture. Let me know what you think below.

#7: Your church doesn’t make space for disagreement or questions. #6: Your church motivates with fear. #5: Your church is not accepting of the LGBTQ+ community, practices conversion therapy. #4: Your church prevents you from getting help. #3: You belonging in church is conditional on your beliefs. #2: Your church is involved in brainwashing and religious indoctrination. #1: Religion isn’t universally traumatizing or harmful.

Everything you need to know about trauma bonding and trauma bonds. What are trauma bonds? Why do trauma bonds exist? Trauma bond signs? Trauma bond relationships? Trauma bond definition? In this video I talk through every layer of trauma bonds, and 5 common reasons trauma bonds exist. If you are struggling with trauma or trauma bonds, I suggest you watch this video to see how you can get support and best know how you may use trauma bonds in your life.

Trauma bonds can be a sign of abusive relationships. And even if you aren’t being physically abused, these bonds may lead to mental and emotional abuse. Abusive relationships help and healing is needed. As a therapist, I have worked with abusive relationship therapy and helping people navigate how to leave an abusive relationship.

Mental Health 101 is a series where I talk through the specifics of mental health subject matters, everything from dissociation, social media addiction, social anxiety, depression and more. In each of these episodes, I will clearly break down questions like “What is PTSD?” or “Signs of addiction?” and more. Each video will be set up in a way that allows you to support your loved ones, or help identify subject matter symptoms, and also misconceptions surrounding mental health disorders. Stay tuned for new content so you can be the best version of self, and the best friend and family member to your loved ones.

I’ve been seeing “Love Bombing” pop up a lot on social media - It’s a great mental health topic and I wanted to dive into it. Love Bombing is a possible characteristic of a narcissist and can happen in narcissistic relationships. It’s a manipulation tactic used by some narcissists to overwhelm the victim with love and attention with the goal of later getting them to do what they want. Love bombing can be hard to see or identify, especially at the beginning of an unhealthy relationship, so I’m breaking down the common red flags (things to look out for) in this unhealthy relationship pattern. Let me know in the comments: have you ever been love bombed? Or have you love bombed someone else?

In January of this year (2022), I released a video about the 5 General Types of Dissociation. That video, at this time, has 829 comments! Ranging from personal experience with dissociation, or questions about dissociation, or just your thoughts about the forms of dissociation: maladaptive daydreaming, dissociative identity disorder, depersonalization, derealization and dissociative amnesia. If you don’t know these types, or have more questions like  what is dissociation ? or what is dissociation like ? or help with dissociation ? or what types of dissociation there are, that video can help answer those. Here I am just addressing the comments and the general themes I saw on that video.

You can watch the full 5 General Types of Dissociation & How to Deal with Them here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFxFjSCoD1Y

Narcissism seems to be talked about a lot today, and every time I create a video about it I get comments asking why some of us continue to find ourselves relationships with narcissists. We can wonder what we are doing, or if maybe we don’t know what a narcissist is like? Maybe we are attracted to the abuse? Why do we keep doing this? In this video we talk about the 5 reasons why we can get stuck dating narcissists, and the red flags to look out for so we don’t get caught in these cycles. Here you will find everything from dating a narcissist, narcissistic relationships, narcissism in relationships and abuse cycle questions answered. If you think I missed anything or want more videos about this, please let me know! xoxo
