Lovebird Gryfinch Room Guardian

The Lovebird Gryfinch has a Rose quartz crystal heart. It sits about 9" tall and has a coat of high quality faux fur that is very soft. The neck and tail have a fully posable plastic ball and socket armature inside that will not wear out over time. The arms have a wire armature that is fully posable as well, but should be posed with a little more care. The head is cast in resin and the arms, and paws are all original sculpts. The hands and paws are sculpted from a flexible clay that will not break when bent.

Most of the plants on my balcony have gone dormant for the winter and it’s too cold to go out and enjoy them, so I’ve taken up indoor gardening instead here are some highlights from my livingroom this season:)

The empress, known as the Beauty of Jade, was falsely accused of treason and executed. Forced into exile, MingHuang the Shining wasted away in lamentation. Months and years passed without this feeling disappearing. After six years of exile from his lands, the fallen emperor, whose passionate love remained immeasurable and pain inconsolable, was back in the Yunnan Valley. But the memory of his breathtaking beauty was still too present there and made his life without her unbearable. Alas, like a lost soul, he went in desperation to the magic mountain, with the mad hope of seeing his sweetheart again beyond the gates of Di-Yu, the Realm of the Dead…

Based on the well-known and evocative legend of the inseparable lovebird Biyi of China, this comic book derived from the background of the game. It tells the story of the Emperor Li Longji and Concubine Yang, who transformed into a pair of souls and travelled through ancient times, guiding villagers to fly over the gorges of a remote village in Yunnan to find the long-lost oasis of modern people.

Beware of the forbidden jacuzzi! If Lolita sees water, she wants to bathe in it. If it’s water coming out of the sink, in a tea cup, bowl, pot - she’s drawn to it. Always know where your birds are before operating the stove. 

Two years ago, I lost my little feathered soulmate. I had 8 great years with you, when some didn’t think you’d make it past 2. 

I miss our adventures, dem scritchable cheeks, that beaky smile. You carried me so far out of my shell and made me a more compassionate human.

Although you’re gone, your legacy lives on through every kind act towards all birds, no matter their size, their ability, or plumage. 

Today, on Cody’s Memorial Day, remember birds in needs. Donate to a bird charity of your choice, be it an avian rescue, conservation, rehab, or sanctuary group. Take time to learn about companion bird struggles. You can start with Parrot Confidential on PBS. (It’s streaming on Amazon).
