MoodBoardMix Stand With Ukraine!

Sunflowers (sunyashniki) are especially loved in Ukraine, where golden fields of them face the sunrise in the east. They are Ukraine’s national flower, and in folk imagery represent the warmth and power of the sun, which was worshipped by pre-Christian Slavs.

To my Ukrainian followers, stay safe and strong !

Love you all❤️

Русский народ против войны! Нет фашизму и путинизму!

Russians against war in Ukraine!

Dear followers

tw mean language

I’m sorry for my shitty country. I didn’t want my government to make such a barbaric crime. People like me try to resist, but, y'know… it’s pretty hard and dangerous at dictatorship.

My country kills freedom. My country kills its own nature (search about Irkutsk Region, Siberia… this is insane). My country kills ukrainians just because “how dare they live in freedom” (not exactly like this ofc their arguments are stupidier but I’m not surprised because I’m not a human for this country too, just because I’m a lesbian, just because homophobia, domestic violence, misogyny and other funny topics are our heritage). And my country… stole a future of my youth. A part of progressive youth, not that ones who are zombied just like our boomers. Television propaganda is insane and alternative information sources are blocked. My peers are howling from their brainwashed parents oh gosh just hack Ostankino break the spell of everlasting darkness please—

I can’t draw anymore. Yeah, I can draw for myself, but I can’t monetize it. I wanted to be a freelancer. I wanted to do incredible works and explore many things. But now my ambitions are going to hell. Just like our whole “nation”. Yeah, I’m trying to stop it. My peers are trying to stop it. Independent media who works only on donations and can be read only with VPN… are working on its last legs because government oppresses them and maybe their existence won’t last longer.

Help us. A little bit. At least with information. I have some links here:

I have many resources which related to antiwar resistance but on my own language.

Look for twitter accounts who spreads information abt all this. At least better than nothing.

Oh and let me show my fav political video <3

And… farewell.

fallen his father…..Please no war in Ukraine!!!!

My friends from all countries.

About a your ago I created the post, where I described two of my worst nightmares. And now in our progressive and tolerant society we facing one of them. I’m not in the middle of this chaos, but my relatives do.

I want to get into vacuum and not to hear, not to see, I can’t believe it. I can represent my current state of mind by the words from my fav song: “Please, God, wake me (us)”

Just try to believe that IT will end soon, that people won’t die from bullets, hunger and inflation. Please, dear Americans, Europeans, Africans and Australians: don’t hate Russians. We have lots of friends and relatives in Ukraine and very scared too. We’re not the same as our f***ing government.

The actions of the government are not the same as the opinion of the people.

You have the right to choose any side of the conflict, but never condemn the ordinary people.

The peaceful Russian people do not deserve everything that washed over them, do not deserve your prejudiced negative attitude.

Tolerance should not end where Russia begins.

Goodness and peace to us all!

I’m now observing a very dangerous (Christian-like) trend, which Ukrainian officials (not necessarily the Zelensky government) can use for their own purposes in the future. This is the conviction that in order for Ukrainians to be appreciated and Ukrainian culture to be respected, it was necessary to have this right to “suffer” and “shed the blood.”
This is not true! It’s no secret that before the war, the average resident of Western Europe knew very little about Ukraine (except for Chernobyl, the war in 2014 and some Eurovision participants), Ukrainian artists were constantly ignored at Western biennials and other exhibitions, Ukrainian culture was frankly considered “provincial”. Now “Ukrainian Studies” will surely become the most advanced direction in the humanities. But our lives aren’t worth articles in fashion magazines, scholarships to study at Western universities, and lectures on Ukrainian cinema in Western NGOs. We should have the right to attention and respect for ourselves without war and suffering!

Okay, I’m in a relatively safe place in Ukraine. I (so far) have a place to live and (so far) have money. But I’m going to fucking lose my mind [я ебнусь] reading posts about finding people from Mariupol. There are HUNDREDS of these posts. Even if these people are alive, they have already had the worst experience in life imaginable anyway. Terrible.

Why is it not a good idea to say “Russians are even worse than the Nazis!” / “German soldiers gave chocolates to children” (didn’t think I would ever have to write about this, but anyway)

  • Recognize that you’re biased by your own experience of seeing or being in a war. This is neither good nor bad, it’s a fact. You can feel the Russian invasion of Ukraine firsthand, sitting in the basement and hearing explosions, or watching the news about it. You couldn’t see what was happening during the Nazi occupation. Moreover: you’re biased by an endless stream of digital information - videos, photos, leaking personal data of the occupiers. In the 1940s, none of this happened - despite the presence of some war correspondents, the war wasn’t conducted “live”. The main sources of those times are the verbal or oral recollections of eyewitnesses, which are perceived differently than photos or videos.
  • *sighs * Google “World War II novels” or “World War II history books” - you’ll learn a lot! But, in general, it doesn’t take too much time and education to find out how many of the population died at the hands of the Nazis and their allies. I don’t think I should mention concentration camps and gas chambers.
  • A fact that is often reluctantly acknowledged: collaborationism was very common in the Soviet Union. The Nazis kept the occupation at the expense of local policemen. In any case, this doesn’t justify the policemen. It’s quite possible that the Nazis gave sweets to your grandparents for a reason because your older ancestors gave to Nazis local Jews, Roma, partisans, or because your relatives took away food from other people to share it with the invaders.
  • The Soviet army ≠ Russians! Moreover, “Russians” is an English-language label, since the Soviet army didn’t call itself “Russian”. It was called precisely either the Soviet Army or the Red Army. Representatives of many ethnic groups served in the Red Army, including Ukrainians, Belarusians, Kazakhs, Jews, Tatars, Moldovans, etc. It’s all the more stupid to associate the Soviet army of the Second World War with the current Russian one.
  • The fact that there were many problems with the Red Army (which, btw, need to be voiced) doesn’t mean that it wasn’t worth the victory over Nazism. Moreover, there were A LOT OF PROBLEMS with the entire anti-Hitler coalition (including the top of this coalition). The victory in World War II left behind a lot of controversy, but at the same time, the peoples of several countries were collectively able to stop (for a while) the machine of mass destruction.
