“The year is 2035. Most humans and magical groups live peacefully amongst each other in a functioning and progressive society. The word magic is integrated into daily life, and the world is better for it.
Despite all of the gains, there are still fringe groups of Humans who continue to riot against the rights various magical groups. Some of these groups even resorting to violence when their calls for change are not heard. On the other end of the spectrum, some pro-magic groups have sprung up, causing the clashing and dangerous protests to grow in almost every city around the country.
In the large booming city of Valhalla, it seems as though something strange is going on. There have been cases at the Institute of the Arcane of students losing their magic all together, seeming lost and helpless when they are found with no memory of what has taken place. Many of those with some form of magic in their veins have been disappearing without a trace. The groups have been blaming one another for the disappearances, but is everything as it seems? Is it the act of one or many?
Is something darker brewing just below the surface of Valhalla?”
This isn’t a roleplay with some big plot twist or something so extravagant you just need to join to find out what it is. This isn’t a roleplay set in the big city with big characters who are destined for greatness. No, think of this as the ‘center city’ where your character is able to interact with others. The only ‘plot’ set in stone is the location; the very small town of Rocky Springs, Mississippi where the characters are the main focus, and developing them.
Whether they are destined for greatness is up to the roleplayer. Whether there is a plot twist or something so mind blowing is up to the roleplayer. Rocky Springs roleplay was created for anyone who just wants a place to escape, build their writing ability, and mature with their characters; maybe even fall in love with them as well. To start everyone off, there are 10 pre-made characters; however original characters are highly recommended and preferred - the pre-made characters do not have to be filled.

Biography -
There is a certain strength that flows through the rivers in Teccupia that the children of the city receive, too, the characteristics that make it possible for everyone to notice their heritage. The Teccups born in the city of Pucante learn everything about the history of their people; they are taught the differences between them and other races, and will find that there is only one thing that the youth has to do to show how important their country and their capital is for them. Daneal broke the record of the fastest Teccup to ever swim the length of the river and jump off the waterfalls. He was honored by the President, a party was thrown in remembrance of his name, and his family moved into a bigger and more luxurious house. Eventually the state paid for Daneal’s education, and he was most grateful to go and become his city’s hero.
Daneal arrived in Trolian at age ten, his reputation was known only with the Measters of the school, who made sure to warn him before hand that if he wanted to swim he could do so when all students his age had received their lessons. He didn’t let it get to him that he didn’t get to swim, instead Daneal won over some hearts with his easy going nature and his way of talking around the teacher. He was the popular guy, but not because he was good looking, or because he had a charming way of talking; he simply never gave anyone a single reason to dislike him. He didn’t bully, he was never rude, he only sometimes broke the rules but always to help others. He graduated with high marks, fought at sea for about ten years before joining the Compan under Aros Lucica, a man to his heart.
Personality -
In contrast to a lot of his fellow Knights, Daneal doesn’t fight too well on land, he’s way too adjusted to the sea, his natural habitat. He is however still formally known as someone who takes his respect and continues to be charming. He’s likable, tries to make his time and that of others the best imaginable. He goes out often to swim, easily adjusts to any situation that is thrown at him and in the image of others never seems to do a thing wrong. But Daneal has come a long way since he broke the record, he’s no longer certain about who he is. He used to be the record boy, after that the popular guy, now he’s a Knight, just a Knight, hoping to once again make a name for himself.
He fits in perfectly with Grahan Rolf and Deanan Calos, though both of them are more interested in each other’s company, and have the thought that Daneal will spill their little secret. He dislikes Getraya Mel Galada and her brother Delvius Bol Galada, and is overly protective of Evia Morse. A lot of the people that were his best friends in school are long dead now, taken away by war or lost in action. While he misses them, the presence of death has stopped surprising him.

Grahan Rolf & Deanan Calos ❖ Daneal likes the company of Grahan and Deana and will often follow them around like a good little dog until they accept he can play with them. Often on the battlefield they hang out together, share the same tent and their stories. They watch out for each other, which makes it a bit easier for Daneal to accept that they will never see him as a good friend, because no one can come between those two.
Evia Morse ❖ Daneal is very protective over Evia Morse, she’s a good friend of his and he’s lost his best friends in the war. He won’t allow himself to loose her. She means the world to him, and he can imagine she could be her little sister.

❖ Se’ref is brilliant, loyal, and impulsive.
Biography -
Yartihn, and especially the Lord of Demons Varamadras, have been kind to a few unlucky souls like Se’ref since the war began–and they are given a chance to prove themselves worthy of tasks that were deemed above their standards and capabilities. Orphans like Tarac and misfits like Marius Thesus have been given the chance to become more than normal soldiers. Se’ref, a fallen soldier, was given a similar chance by Varamadras after he had been wounded during in battlefield outside of HagaFosiel. Se’ref was born in a small family, his older brother had died during the war, and he was to die as well. At twenty-four, though, he managed to get himself badly hit by a Fire Magician who burned off the skin on his right leg. He was saved by Loriente Seasel, whose group was sent to decide the fight.
He was brought back to Yartihn, badly wounded and on the brink of slipping off into the next world. Varamadras started to show an interest in the boy, sending his healers to take care of him, hoping that their abilities would be enough to save him. Se’ref lived, and during his period of rehabilitation, he was introduced to Misha Itaul, Varamadras’ only living sibling. The two started a romantic relationship, around the same time that the Demonlord came to the decision to make Se’ref the next Lord of HagaFosiel. The previous lord had vanished in a battle near the city, and the fallen soldier would forever be unable to fight, his leg had been hurt too badly to fully recover. To the Mancers and lords, his appointment led to general mistrust of the Demonlord, given Se'ref’s involvement with his sister. They will never mention their distrust to Varamadras, but their gazes are clear enough for Se’ref.
His fast rise to power had not gone unnoticed. He proved his instincts and brilliance in his early years as part of the government ever since Varamadras, together with Tarac, had named him adviser of the council during his rehabilitation. As Lord of HagaFosiel, he continued being useful, and defending the city and its neighboring towns and villages is his most impressive achievement to date. He’s called Varamadras’ little treasure.
Personality -
Se’ref was never very fond of the war, but his loyalty to Lord Varamadras is unquestionable, since there is so much he should be thankful for. As he took the chance to prove himself, other Mancers began to see their leader had not made the boy a lord without good reason. He has no magical ability, but his friendliness, and his ability to understand one’s pains when it comes to physical wounds, gave the Mancers reason to accept him. They are not very used to non-Magicians around, yet Tarac and Se’ref are exceptions. He takes the freedom from the fighting granted to him by his injury as a reason to do better around HagaFosiel, and make sure every defense is in order if the enemy should attack. He never asked to become the next Lord of HagaFosiel, but now that he is, he will do anything to keep it.
He loves Misha Itaul with all his heart. She’s the one person that tries to see everyone as the people they are, and not the way they behave as Mancers. According to him, Misha is the one reason Varamadras’ rebellion worked out. He’s good friends with Tarac, and through his work knows many of the Mancers around Yartihn. HagaFosiel is his home, and he is a good host to the Mancers that come around, talking to them at breakfast and making sure everything is to their wishes. He’s known to be very impulsive, which sometimes seems perfectly out of character because of his calm nature. Sometimes he has plans that he’ll insist have to be put in order immediately, which can be a bit confusing for others.

Misha Itaul ❖ Se’ref will never love another woman like he does Misha, or that’s what he’ll say. He loves her with his whole heart, and will try to spend every waking hour in her presence, though that hardly ever works out. He knows they both have important jobs, and he will go through hell to protect her. While always trying to be at her side, he will never openly discuss his love for her–he thinks the matters of the heart are private.
Varamadras Itaul ❖ Varamadras was the one who gave him his lordship and thus deserves his respect and loyalty. He does however have difficulty seeing Varamadras as his brother-in-law, even while he knows the bond between him and his fiancé is strong.
Tarac ❖ Tarac and Se’ref both like HagaFosiel best, they love their knowledge and high position. It is because of their duties that they are often in each other’s company, and while they mostly don’t agree on subjects, they have a kind love for one another.
Lukas Arcain ❖ Se’ref has been a friend to Lukas since he moved to HagaFosiel. They’ve known each other for a long time, and talk often outside of the Elite. They respect each other’s places among Varamadras’ best. Lukas himself is older than the Lord of HagaFosiel, but their relationship is much different, where Lukas as a medical advisor is often less aware of situations and acts younger in social matters, taking advise from the younger Demon where he can.
EXHIBITED DRAWBACKS: The subject must be in a close proximity of the piece of technology in order to use their abilities. Focus must also come from them in order to sync &/or kinetically use and/or access technology, otherwise they are likely to create or manipulate technology into faulty objects, or destroy it altogether (ie. irrevocably defective equipment, fried motherboards, etc.). With larger tech & electronics, they need to be in physical contact with said tech in order to effectively manipulate it.
OBSERVATIONS:
The test subject struggles to break away from their ingrained routine, practices perception and beliefs. When pushed to change or adapt, they meet their challenger with firm resistance. Their fixed lifestyle might make them predictable yet potentially reliable for what others can expect of them. On the contrary, they may also present difficulties if they remain unwilling to move out of their comfort zone if a situation calls for it. Their reasoning for willingly volunteering to this project is questionable to say the least. Further inquiries into this to be scheduled at a later date.

ABILITIES: Human and Animal Shapeshifting & Animal hybridity
EXHIBITED DRAWBACKS: Their hybridity seems to only allow them to adapt to 2 other animal traits at a time. The duration that they can use either ability is limited and can vary.
OBSERVATIONS:
The test subject believes them-self to be a natural-born leader, but has exhibited mediocre leadership skills in said roles. Their eagerness to prove themselves as someone to take charge will likely get them nominated for tasks, not out of a belief in competency by others, but by default from more reluctant subjects. At times, their persistence is admirable; however, they have a long way to go to be respected and viewed as a true leader.

EXHIBITED DRAWBACKS: If the subject isn’t focused on blending into their surroundings, phasing or becoming invisible, their abilities will not work. If they lose focus mid-phase and don’t reclaim it, it is possible for them to become stuck for an undetermined amount of time.
OBSERVATIONS:
The test subject’s intentions are sometimes hard to determine. They seem to be easygoing and that they might have the potential to keep their fellow subjects close with binding friendships, or motivation to work together when needed. In contrast, they also have the potential to harm this experiment altogether, tactfully dismantling the chance for productive teamwork through manipulation of the other test subjects over time, once they meet. Subject should be closely monitored and documented for potential ulterior motives.

OBSERVATIONS:
The subject is genuinely innocent, inexperienced and occasionally quiet and naive. Assumed to have led a sheltered or heavily cushioned life. Their reserve can be welcoming and is likely to attract the interest of those with more life experiences that can be shown to them, or it can possibly perturb those with harsher upbringings. Similar to The Traditionalist, it can be difficult to rouse them from their comfort zone; they, however, at least seem somewhat more willing than the aforementioned to adapt to new possibilities, and have presented themselves as curious about how their future might change, going forward.

EXHIBITED DRAWBACKS: They are not anymore physically durable than any of the other subjects, making them equally vulnerable to injury.
OBSERVATIONS:
Out of all the test subjects, they are the most determined “lone wolf”, exhibiting themselves as the least cooperative, and least subordinate. This can potentially prompt others to rally around them, or the behavior can get in the way of the others and them-self if they are not careful. Like The Swindler, they seem to have mostly taken an interest in this experiment for monetary reasons. Although the subjects have had little-to-no interactions with each other yet, this subject’s misunderstanding of this being a group experiment rather than them being a singular test subject seems to have escaped them prior to now. Probable underlying desire for uniqueness; possibility to be considered and further examined at a later date.

EXHIBITED DRAWBACKS: Although this drawback could potentially change with time and practice, the subject has shown no capability of controlling a change of pheromones or emotions. There does, however, seem to be a correlation with the subject’s state of emotions and how other’s emotions are altered.
OBSERVATIONS:
The subject frequently exhibits a fantastical and idealist’s mindset. This has at times proven challenging with them not handling situations and simulations as they are, but trying to shape them into what they think they should be. Their distance from reality is not yet explained. They do, however, seem keen on exploration and adventure, and the fantastical mindset can occasionally prove a distraction for others in times of great duress and hardship.

OBSERVATIONS:
The test subject is generally effective in verbal or physical protection, displaying fair competency of both forms. They are selective in when they enact these protective skills which can translate to cautiousness. Next to The Intellect, they show the highest prospect for independent and collective success. The subject often seems distracted, however, sometimes neglecting themselves; the reason(s) for their divided attention is unknown at this time. To be further analyzed and determined at a later date.

OBSERVATIONS:
The subject holds a criminal record in a few different locations for theft and was previously jailed more than once. They seem to use their theft and grifting skills as a self-serving, survival method which has been occasionally successful and problematic otherwise. At times, they have shown an affinity for minor and unnecessary thefts while under observation. We have concluded that their primary interest in volunteering for this experiment was for monetary purposes, but the potential outcome also seems to hold their interest as well. The subject should be closely and frequently monitored.

A woman in her early thirties, who is very selfish. A man in his early thirties, who is very overbearing. The story begins in a church crypt. Someone is driven out of their home. It’s a story about learning from mistakes. Your characters need a good plan in order to survive.
