Messages were fastened around the animals’ necks in waterproof bags so the citizens of Liège and surrounding villages could easily communicate with each other. ‘Unless the criminal class of dogs undertakes to waylay and rob the mail-cats, the messages will be delivered with rapidity and safety,’ The New York Times reported.
Safety? Maybe. Rapidity? Definitely not. Though one enterprising cat made it to his destination in less than five hours, the others took up to a day to deliver the mail to their own homes—it would seem the cats were not terribly interested in relaying messages in a timely fashion.”

[To my eye, the style of the subject’s uniform, and my general sense of photography – especially colonial photography, which I think we can assume this is an example of given the backdrop chosen and the literal grassy ground on which the subject stands – suggests to me this was taken in Africa ca. 1900. So vague as to be insulting, so please, if you know more specifics and can do some archival history deductions, clue me in!]

Klaus is a new origin story for Santa Claus, about a postman that gets sent to the remote town of Smeerensburg and befriends a reclusive toy maker. Sergio Pablos, the director, used mostly traditional 2D hand-drawn animation, while animated film nowadays use 3D animation and CGI. Pablos wanted it to give the movie a nostalgic component, but he overcame some of the limitations of 2D using lighting to give volume to the characters.
“One of the early inspirations that we had for this film was ‘Batman Begins,’” said Pablos, whose version of Santa is taciturn, has dealt with loss and has a toy shop that could be seen as a sort of Batcave. “You can definitely say people have described it as 'Santa Begins.’

HEALTH MESSAGE (please, give me a break)
As I was lying in bed pondering the problems of the world, I rapidly realized that I don’t really give a rat’s ass.
It’s the tortoise life for me!
1. If walking/cycling is good for your health, the postman would be immortal.
2. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water, and is fat.
3. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years.
4. A tortoise doesn’t run and does nothing, yet it lives for 450 years.
And you tell me to exercise??
I don’t think so I’m retired… Go around me.
Have some more sketches for my original setting, these are all different kinds of demons! In order, they are: Postman (raven demon), Henry (fire demon), Penelope (skunk demon)
