The foreshadowing… I just cried a lot I actually didn’t know that ScarJo was in this film, I’m surprised that her character will be the one I will mostly cried for in the first place. I hate it. I love her character. Very much #BEARABBIT I WILL LOVE THIS FILM FOREVER! I LOVE YOU ELSA AND JOJO
Honestly, thank god this week is over. I am so ready to spend a good percent of my long weekend in toasty pjs watching Chris Pine’s new Netflix movie. Perhaps I will even watch a certain scene a number of times.
So, I read some stuff this week and because I am such a kind and giving human, I am sharing some of them with you. When I die, please tell people how gracious I was.
OK Pitch Perfect may be kinda stupid but it teaches pro-women things like female friendship and that itme in the third one, when a grown woman’s father attacks her, and a policeman says “Is this man bothering you?” the woman says “Yes, yes he is” for the FIRST TIME IN MOVIE HISTORY.
Because writers want the man to continue to be a threat, by not letting the woman ask for help. Which is bullshit because
1. It teaches abused women that the abuse isn’t real, and to protect their abuser, and
2. ignores the reality that an abuser will come back again and again, which is exactly what happened in PP 3
I watched Pitch Perfect 3 last night and ended up having a dream where all of the actresses were giant Greek Goddesses, except Rebel Wilson who was some kind of museum curator and was running around trying to get them all to return back to the artifacts they had come out of.
The main part of the dream that stood out was where something like a 200ft Hailee Steinfeld was running on water towards land with sword raised and shield in hand during a dark storm as Rebel Wilson was standing on the land shouted too her:
“Athena! Get back in the shield!”
And then Hailee/Athena fell forward, turned into some kind of cosmic energy and went into the normal human-sized shield Rebel Wilson was holding.
It’s easy to hate on a film after seeing a terrible trailer, when the previews look so mortifying it’s obvious to then go into a film with low expectations. Or in this case, expecting it will be a terrible dumpster fire of a movie.
