Exalted Art Challenge Concept Sketches - Monstrance - “The Arms of the Lover”
The divine essence of a Solar is no easy thing to corrupt and thus the Neverborn created the most cruel of implements for their Deathlords to use - the Monstrances of Celestial Portion.
These sarcophagi are uniquely forged to corrupt and bind the Exaltation of a particular servant and keep it under the thrall of the Deathlord. A Solar thrust into this insidious coffin eventually succumbs to corruption until they give themselves over and accept their new existence as Abyssals…or perish.
As each monstrance suits the Deathlord’s intentions (the way I interpret the lore), I’ve chosen to portray this monstrance controlled by the Lover (the Deathlord from my last post) as being much like its owner. The silk satin pillowing inside makes it seem like a luxurious bed, the soulsteel and jade construct gilded with gold. A prismatic crystalline lid allows one to gaze on the poor soul inside, whose body is trapped in an arc that mimics ecstasy by gold caressing arms that come alive and clasp the victim within.
Inserted along the crystal lid, jewel encrusted needles stab into each of the victim’s chakra points, plying the Solar within for corruption. Like the Lover, this monstrance combines a beautiful and terrible aesthetic.

This was the first gift accepted by the Museum.
The back and cover of this sarcophagus are unfinished, and its inscription tablet is blank, which may imply that it went unsold in antiquity. Garlands of oak leaves supported by two erotes and four Victories adorn the front and sides. Medusa heads fill the spaces above the garlands, except in the center of the front, where there is the blank inscription tablet. Six erotes hunt various wild animals along the front face of the cover, while two others stand at the corners. On the left end, Eros awakens Psyche with an arrow, and on the right, they embrace.

35 years ago, on this day, November 30, 1986, the Shelter, also known as the Sarcophagus, was commissioned.
A huge reinforced concrete structure designed to conquer the “peaceful atom” so that after that it wouldn’t harm anyone.
Eternal memory to those who took part in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.

Introducing my Ancient Egyptian Funeral Collection!
Featuring a 2”, hinged sarcophagus enamel pin of Osiris-Seker and a hand silk screened winged scarab bandana. There are FOUR additional enamel pins to unlock if we can reach the initial goal of $1000.
This series was born from my love of supernatural ritual, mythology, and Egyptian Revival style (started in the early 1900s). Each piece is designed using matte metal and soft enamel to be invocative of ancient artifacts without them actually being taken from someone’s tomb.
I have reserved 50 pieces out of the initial run 100 just for my backers.So you want to guarantee you get one of these (or two depending on which reward you choose), now is the time.

Cleopatra’s underwater Palace
.
⚫Located on the island of Antirhodos, in Alexandria’s Eastern Harbour , Egypt.
⚫Cleopatra VII was the last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, she committed suicide in (10 or 12 August 30 BC).
⚫Cleopatra’s palace was submerged
Probably a few centuries after Cleopatra’s reign (1500 years ago) due to a terrible earthquake and a huge tsunami in Egypt.
⚫In 1998 the remains of the ancient city and Cleopatra’s spectacular palace were found.
⚫Within this palace complex incredible intact artefacts were discovered : coins, pottery, vases, basins, statues, columns, marble floors and more.
⚫So far, 20,000 ancient objects have been discovered.
⚫One of the most impressive finds brought to the surface was 1 of 2 large granite Sphinx’s guarding the entrance of a small temple.
⚫Other exciting finds include a very grand statue of the Egyptian god Isis and a gigantic stone head believed to be of Caesarion, the son of Cleopatra and her lover Julius Caesar.
