“This is about Nathan’s 4A video. I think it was wrong of people to share the video publicly because the video WASN’T supposed to be shared publicly at all. The video was supposed to stay private, since even Nathan probably didn’t want anyone to know about it. The person who took the video will now be in huge trouble.”

“It’s honestly depressing how many skaters have to turn their personal social media into sales platforms for fast fashion, passing itself off as sportswear or environmentally (un)friendly stuff like bottled water, just to earn a bit of money because their federations can’t or don’t help to fund them.”

The ISU needs to cancel everything and give huge fines to Federations that practise bad citizenship by running domestic events now that half the world is back in lockdown. There’s no sports competition important enough to warrant traveling, even to another city right now.”
“I just don’t get excited about figure skating anymore and it makes me very sad. It’s hard to care when competitions have no stakes and my faves aren’t competing. I used to watch everything on the edge of my seat, and now I’m like, ‘Oh, was there another Russian Cup this weekend? Whatever.’ Hopefully, we will have normal international competitions next season.”

“I was really rooting for Young You being one of the only non-big fed skaters at the GP series. I wonder if her training got messed up switching her training between two countries that have really strict quarantine procedures or if it was purely just a bad jumps day for her? It makes me wonder about international competitions going forward though. The mental and physical component of quarantining after travel makes me concerned for everyone.”

“I really want to see Starr Andrews get better and maybe, even make it to the Olympics. In a sport that is so heavily dominated by white and Asian athletes (at least in the U.S.), it is so nice seeing a Black figure Skater. There needs to be much more diversity in figure skating. I really want her to do well, so that little Black boys and girls can look up to her, the way that I looked up to Michelle Kwan and Kristi Yamaguchi, as a young Asian American!”

“When will the FS federations learn the lesson and stop hyping pre-teens/juniors/novices so much and naming them the next olympic champion, when they haven’t even finished growing and developing physically. Yes, I’m looking at you, Rusfed, and don’t get me started on the USFSA. I have no clue how they’re gonna fix the Alysa Liu problem, that was some big PR campaign gone to waste.”
“For some reason, the higher up the ranks, the more boring and warhorsey do the music choices get. Rika is a shining exception to the rule tho.”
“I can’t believe how selfish some people are being, whining about competitions being cancelled when almost the entire northern hemisphere is a huge COVID-19 hotspot. Like, read a book or learn to knit or go on YouTube, nobody has to put their life at risk, just because you’re bored and want to watch skating.”
