“This ‘season’ is a grotesque, dangerous joke. The ISU needs to cancel everything and give huge fines to Federations that practise bad citizenship by running domestic events now that half the world is back in lockdown. There’s no sports competition important enough to warrant traveling, even to another city right now.”
“I was really rooting for Young You being one of the only non-big fed skaters at the GP series. I wonder if her training got messed up switching her training between two countries that have really strict quarantine procedures or if it was purely just a bad jumps day for her? It makes me wonder about international competitions going forward though. The mental and physical component of quarantining after travel makes me concerned for everyone.”

“Team competitions at the olympics should just be gotten rid of. It makes no sense when you know which country is going to be on the podium and what place they come in. They should bring back team competition when there are 6 or 7 countries that are in medal contention, kind of like artistic gymnastics.”

“If Russia is always scheming/politicking in figure skating, they should just be banned from being a member of the ISU, banned from judging, and then they can play politics within their own country instead. But ¾ of ISU is literally funded by Russia, and Russia is the puppeteer of ISU. What a shame, because they have some of the most amazing skaters and their federation acting like that is so toxic to the athletes.”
