This was a tough commission of a couple’s wedding bouquet. It was my first time painting flowers, so I did two studies to prepare for this final execution on a 12 x 16 Belgian Linen panel. The photo ref was of the bride holding the flowers in shadow, so I invented some lighting onto them, and painted them into a vase. I didn’t expect flowers to be such a challenge, I highly recommend every paint some!

my mom had to move out of this old grungy art studio that she had been renting for several years. while she was packing, i wandered around the five story building and looked in all the abandoned rooms. all the artists had to move out, and some of them left some things behind, leaving me a perfect thing to take a picture of. i am no photographer, but i thought i would share these eery and aesthetic pictures. none of theses are my mom’s studio. hers was a bit brighter.

this is not where we live by the way! this is where art was stored. so i still have somewhere to live g-d bless.

anyway, i really hope you enjoy these.
