Hello guys!♥️ today photo is of the first 2 books on the 5th wave trilogy. I saw the movie and thought that the plot could be sooo much more so I decided to get the books and serif the book plot was richer. Unfortunately I haven’t had the time to read it yet but it’s in my TBR.

And have you DNFed any books this year? How do you decide to not finish a book? I don’t think I’ve DNFed any books this year … I’ve set more than a few aside, but I definitely intend to get back to them. I’ve actually only DNFed a handful of books in all the years I’ve been reading. I always say that I’m going to DNF if I am not enjoying a book, but I always end up reading it anyways, because I’m always wondering if it will get better. Sometimes I end up regretting that decision, but sometimes it does get better. I think it helps that I’ve been a lot picker about what I read lately as well. Instead of reading ALL the books, I’m just choosing books that sound interesting to me, and I think that helps. What about you guys?

Have you ever done a buddy read before? What’s a book or series that you’d like to buddy read? I love the idea of of a buddy read. It’s sounds so fun! I’ve only done two buddy reads so far, and … I’m not very good at it. With my short attention span and frequent reading slumps, I am just the worst at trying to keep up with a buddy. That being said, I have enjoy the books that I’ve buddy read so far. For some reason I immediately thought of the *Beautiful* series by Renee Ahdieh would make a good buddy read. Good Thursday Morning, Bookworms! Today is one of those days where I have no idea what day it is. I’m so tired, y’all.

Have you read any 5 star reads this year? If so, which books have you loved? (Because I’m totally going to buy some of them. ) Confession: I hate rating books. I hate having to choose between 1-5 stars. Basically, I either didn’t like a book, liked it, or REALLY like it. A 5 star read for me would probably be a book that WOWs me … which hasn’t happened in a while. (NOT because of the books I’m reading, but totally because I’m in a funk.) How do you guys decide how to rate a book? And, what were your last 5 star reads?

Do you like sci-fi books? What about fantasy books? Do you prefer one over the other? Honestly, I like both. I do seem to lean a little more towards fantasy, but I always enjoy sci-fi when I do read it. Which is not often, because I don’t really know of many sci-fi books or series. I do love a good fantasy though! (Especially romantasy! ) One fantasy series that I am determined to read this year is the *Daevabad Trilogy*! I started the first book earlier this year, but set it aside because of focusing issues, but I am determined to get back to it this month. What are some sci-fi or fantasy series that you love?

Happy Monday, Bookworms! Have you picked out or started your first read of May? I have already devoured my first book of the month. I listened to the audio of *The League of Gentlewomen Witches* yesterday and it was absolutely delightful! Just the book I needed to hopefully get me started on a great reading month. Today I am starting my reread of *The Kiss of Deception* and I can’t hardly wait to be back in one of my most favorite worlds! I imagine I will be getting through this book very quickly as well. I LOVED the first in this series. It is very rare that an author can get the jump on me with a twist but Kiss of Deception got me all sorts of twisted! Anyways, here is hoping the second book has all the wonderfulness of the first!
