If Cthulhu can be summoned by humans who are so far beneath it, why can’t humans be summoned by ants? The answer is they should be.
Well if a bunch of ants formed a circle in my house I’d certainly notice, try to figure out where they’d all come from, and possibly wreak destruction there.
That’s why knowing and correctly pronouncing the true name is so important to the ritual. Imagine how impossible it would be to not go take a look if the circle of ants started chanting your name.
And they’re like, you can’t leave because we drew a line made of tiny crystals - now you have to do us a favor.
And you’re like, let’s just see where this goes “yup, you got me… what’s the favor?”
and usually the favor is like, “kill this one ant for us” or “give me a pile of sugar” and you’re like… okay? and you do, because why not, it isn’t hard for you and boy is this going to be a fucking story to tell, these fucking ants chanting your name and wanting a spoonful of sugar or whatever.
And SOMEtimes you get asked for things you can’t really do, one of them, she’s like, “I love this ant but she won’t pay any attention to me, make me important to her” and you’re like… um? how? So you just kill every ant in the colony except the two of them, ta-da! problem solved! and the first ant is like *horrified whisper* “what have I done”
This is the best explanation for higher powers I’ve ever really heard.
I have typed the word “piercing” so many times in the last hour that it’s starting to look super fucked up now. If I make any spelling errors, that’s why. It doesn’t look like a real world anymore, and I’m really messed up about it.

I had a dream last night that I kept running into people from high school that I’m no longer in touch with. They all wanted to get back in touch via a new social media platform called Barrel, so they’d ask me what my Barrel was, and then be shocked when I told them I didn’t have one.
One of them got out their phone to show me Barrel, and it was essentially an aggregator – it would go to your friends’ social media and pull in all their posts on a single feed. There are probably apps that do this, I couldn’t say, but I was about to pronounce on what a terrible experience reading that app would be when they showed me the reason Barrel was awesome:
Barrel somehow was able to discern what the person who made a post was actually thinking or feeling when they said it.
Beneath every post in the app was a little grey box with what was basically a mood tag: “Lying” “Insecure” and “Sincere” were three that I saw. You couldn’t designate or change your Barrel tag because it was assigned by the app, so it made posting to social media a real existential crisis. Because you could, say, post something nasty to Facebook, like a mean vagueblog, and people could show up in your comments with screengrabs from Barrel proving you were lying for clout or insecure or passive aggressive. They showed me a whole thread of comments on a Tweet that were just a bunch of people sharing the different Barrel adjectives they’d seen assigned to it.
Apparently all the big tech companies, national news organizations, and major politicians were terrified Barrel would start captioning them next and the hot debate of the moment was whether Barrel should finance itself by charging fees not to “barrel roll” new targets. Also, people were posting Eurovision videos to Barrel hoping to find out what the song was actually about but it just tagged them “Eurovision”.
I’m sorry it’s not an executable idea because I’d get a Barrel account in a heartbeat.
Two things:
1. I love that in this scenario Eurovision is apparently so ridiculously sincere and/or baffling that it is somehow immune to technology that detects subtext.
2. I am mildly worried that @copperbadge has listened to me scream about Eurovision so much lately that it’s now invading their dreams.

Random thoughts, but i like the idea that Scott has reddish toned brown hair. I don’t know why, I just like the idea of Scott having somewhat auburn hair
Like if Scott spend a decent amount of time in the Sun, his hair becomes more of an auburn colour. Basically John isn’t the only one in that family with the red hair genes.
(Scott’s are just a bit more subtle lol )
Actually, imagine as a teenager/kid Scott had lighter, more auburn hair! Like not red like John but still a lot lighter than he has as an adult.
Imagine a young teenage Scott feeling somewhat self conscious about his hair, (because school kids are brutal) and wanting his hair to darken like his dad’s.
Because Scott is always trying to be like Jeff, which is probably why he styles it the way he does

Heronoja is a fictional country I made located on an eastwards peninsula. Since my world has so many countries, I might begin with that nation of blonde alien hybrids.
If Heronoja were a countryball, they would be either male or female, depending on the work. They also come with blonde hair, like the country’s people. Like other countryballs, Heronoja’s interests reflect those of its people.
The male version would love gold, spears, brushing his hair, chariot riding and jousting, and unicorns. The female version also loves her hair and spears, but also likes archery, dresses, and dancing. But regardless, Heronojaball hates ice cream and vampires.
Heronojaball is quite suspicious about outsiders, due to being invaded and tortured by other countries, so they only trust a few friends. They also don’t like it when others refer them as “doll” because they looked unnervingly beautiful. They also love to ride on their unicorn.
In my stories, Porashon is a mountainous nation inhabited by a beautiful race of pink-haired tree people. They are known for being very intelligent, smart enough to preserve technology that is more advanced than their neighbours.
And who else would be more fitting for this pink people than ponies? More precisely, Bubble Berry and Pinkie Pie, since they look better together.
Also, let’s make the ponies a prince and a princess! (the Pallava text on the tree reads “Namaskāra”/นมัสการ, a formal word that means “salutations”)
Sometimes, there’s a huge problem when keeping a fire doggy.
