“If you are going to be a writer there is nothing I can say to stop you; if you’re not going to be a writer nothing I can say will help you. What you really need at the beginning is somebody to let you know that the effort is real.” -James Baldwin

quilloftheclouds:

To all those creators out there, be your field writing, crafts, music, drawing, or art of any other type!:

You are AMAZING.

You are the ONLY person capable of making what you’ve created! No one else could create the exact same thing you did, the exact same way, unless you were to guide them. And even then: each detail, brushstroke, punctuation mark, or fingerprint on your creation is yours alone.

You brought that creation forth from something that did not at all resemble the finished product. A blank page, coloured strands, an empty canvas, tubes of paint or a box of coloured markers or pencils, and all sorts more. No one else could do it the way you did.

But no art is completely original,” you may say. A single musical note may not be, but combine a number of them into a song–into what order? What volume are they? How do you transition between them? Are there lyrics, other instruments, background noise, a certain reverberation? Even the same song, played by different people or in different places, is always unique, each and every performance.

Each performance is enjoyed by different people. Perhaps mainly by the creator–but that makes it worth it, still.

So remember just how amazing it is to create something. Remember you are a creator, and a WONDERFUL one, at that!

May your next creative endeavour have you full of motivation, inspiration, and the energy and time you need!

Yeah? Beg for it. Look at your cute thighs trembling for me. Such adorable reactions. Let me hear your voice. Such a good boy. Don’t worry baby, I promise to fuck you dumb but you just have to ask me. Go on puppy, tell me exactly what you want. Anything you want baby. Use your words darling, I can’t hear you you’re mumbling. You look so cute like this. My good boy ♡

  25. telling them you enjoy spending time together
  26. (bonus: both of y’all doing both of these things but neither of you noticing it smh)

People, especially games, get eldritch madness wrong a lot and it’s really such a shame.

An ant doesn’t start babbling when they see a circuit board. They find it strange, to them it is a landscape of strange angles and humming monoliths. They may be scared, but that is not madness.

Madness comes when the ant, for a moment, can see as a human does.

It understands those markings are words, symbols with meaning, like a pheromone but infinitely more complex. It can travel unimaginable distances, to lands unlike anything it has seen before. It knows of mirth, embarrassment, love, concepts unimaginable before this moment, and then…

It’s an ant again.

Echoes of things it cannot comprehend swirl around its mind. It cannot make use of this knowledge, but it still remembers. How is it supposed to return to its life? The more the ant saw the harder it is for it to forget. It needs to see it again, understand again. It will do anything to show others, to show itself, nothing else in this tiny world matters.

This is madness.

Thank you for this good PSA because I’m still seeing sincere, published, professional writers doing “ahhhhh oh no this monster was SO UGLY i’m mentally ill now!”

Day 1 - Daily Writing Challenge

Write 5 sentences for your WIP right now.

Do it for yourself or put it under this post!

-

The train had seen better days. The seats were torn up, everywhere was garbage, and through the dirty windows, sprayed over with graffiti, was hardly coming any light. It was a testament to all the years the train had brought many different people from A to B. Here and there you could still see a glimpse of its former glory, and it almost felt like the train was torn from a promising past and thrown into a grim future. She asked herself, with a quick glance to her companion, what kind of future would their destination bring for them?
