My contribution to the @wiggleonzine! My soft spot for Warlock knows no bounds and I bet he can keep a secret about Nanny’s snakiness! I had a lot of fun with this zine and actually learning how to draw snakes (somewhat)
I had the honor of being a guest contributor for @shieldandking, an FFXV zine centered on the Shields and Kings of past and present. I’m very excited to finally share my work!
Experimental Slit was my first magazine that I designed and created. It was truly an experiment because I was experimenting with layout design and graphic design.
I created Experimental Slit because I felt there was a lack of art magazines that focused on experimenting and discovering new ways and processes on making art.
I will be creating another zine along with this one titled “Cruel & Unusual”. The Cruel Zine is going to have a different take on zines and experiments with art and design. Cruel & Unusual will go a completely different direction with a little more content than Experimental Slit. Unlike Experimental Slit, Cruel & Unusual will have features of artists, designers and musicians as well as a more creative play on typography and design.
Experimental Slit is a way for me experiment with whole series of works while maintaining a simple layout of the magazine. Cruel & Unusual will not only be more creatively designed, but this zine will also show one of a kind works and artwork that doesn’t belong to a specific series or group of work.
I simply created another zine because I have so many different ideas. I enjoy challenges and I absolutely love creating books and magazines. So having one zine just wasn’t enough.
The dates have been finalized for both zines:
Experimental Slit will release the first week of December every year.Making it an annual magazine
Cruel & Unusual Zine will be released monthly. There may be some months with more than just one release.
Cruel & Unusual Zine’s first issue will debut July 1st.
Here’s a preview of my piece for the @acnostalgiazine! I’ve been wanting to do more Animal Crossing fanart in hopes for a new game to come out, so I took the opportunity here. uwu There’s a lot of cute work in this zine that shows the impact the games have on everyone. It’s really something special.
