Okaaay, so I’ve seen a lot of shit on TikTok about Aidan Gallagher’s (the kid who plays 5 on Umbrella Academy) music, most of which are older fans of TUA laughing at him. And I just want to ask like can we not? He’s sixteen, a LITERAL FETUS, he’s allowed to explore creatively and then GROW from that. If people keep cutting down the flower before it even blooms then of course your going to be stuck with a boring stem, talent isn’t something people are born with. They work on it! Let him make “bad” or “cringy” music and hell, even if he never gets better at it then at least he’s enjoying himself right?? Can’t people accept that humans can enjoy and partake in an activity without being fucking perfect at it??!!
It’s constantly on youtube comments as well, and I feel like it’s important to also mension that alongside the mockery, people are saying things on how he’s a piece of shit (based on seemingly faked screenshots and what seems to be one or two well meaning but extremely poorly worded takes?) - instead of trying to educate him. I’m not saying him being a kid means he gets a free pass or whatever, but yes, he is still a kid and the way people write their takes of trying to say he’s a horrible person or being violently awful towards again, a literal child, is just so bad.
It’s bad when anyone does it, but imo it’s especially bad seeing grown adults doing it because they find it funny and/or want to “cancel” a 16 year old. Genuinely, grow up and think about what you’re doing. This is bullying a child and it is not okay. Between this and the comments that sexualize him, this kid must see a lot of gross ass comments and it’s awful.
