#annabeth chase headcanon

Dionysus: Okay, first I’d like to introduce our new camper, Percy, and I’d like to thank Percy for his generous gift of two dollars, which he handed me outside this morning. Not necessary, but much appreciated.

Annabeth: why’d you give him two dollars?

Percy: I thought he was homeless

Percy, trying to flirt: Annabeth, I think…uh…it’s awesome…the way…you fight with your dagger

Annabeth, blushing:t-thanks

*both awkward as hell*

Percy: okay, mission number two, finding the where the popcorn is.

Grover: what was mission number one?

Annabeth: literally getting here, Grover!

Percy: hey Annabeth? I’ve got a question

Annabeth: it’s like 2 a.m. what?

Percy: who invented clocks? Like who decided they were just going to be like that. 3 hands? 6 means half? 12 is the start of the day? why!?

*both of them immediately dive into hours of extensive research to find the answer*

Percy: *does something stupid* (like running into a volcano to sacrifice himself)

Annabeth: I can’t believe I have to kiss him *facepalm*

Grover: you know you don’t /have/ to kiss him, right?

Annabeth: no, I definitely have to

Annabeth Chase really just understood physics at the age of 12 huh

Like at Waterland she knew what time specifically to jump because, quote, “simple physics! Force times the trajectory angle-”

She did those calculations in her head as a twelve year old. Like this is stuff people learn in high school, and this sixth grader just did it. wow. Genius level intellect here.

Percy: I’m growing a beard

Annabeth: oh I thought that was dirt on your face

Percy: …thanks a lot Annabeth

Annabeth: You know, Percy, I don’t care what everyone else says about you. You’re pretty smart.

Percy: Thank you, Annabeth.

Percy:*realises*

Percy: Hey, wait a sec-

• Has never and will never dye her hair because she has an entire argument prepared for when someone calls her a “dumb blonde” and she wants to put some assholes in their place.

• Old, torn denim shorts.

• Science pun t-shirts.

• If she doesn’t know something, she will admit that she doesn’t know it, then go and do a crap ton of research on it just so that she knows for next time.

• Her favourite movie is Legally Blonde. She doesn’t need to explain why. (It’s also Percy’s favourite movie because Annabeth showed it to him.)

• When she finishes college, she graduates top of her class and goes on to study ancient religions, eventually receiving a PhD in the subject.

• She listens to music whilst she studies so that she doesn’t go into a study spiral.

• She loves to travel and discover things about different countries, religions and cultures.

• After leaving home so young, Annabeth picked up a lot of different survival hacks which she teaches to younger campers.

• Once Annabeth moves in with Percy, she develops a love for blue food almost as strong as Percy’s.

• Annabeth learned how to bake a cake just so that she could make Percy a blue birthday cake.

• Every summer, Annabeth returns to Camp Half Blood to help train the new campers. She introduces new regimens to the camp and sets up a small school so that full time campers can receive a proper education. The majority of the teachers at the school are her siblings; fellow children of Athena.

• She doesn’t like to admit it, but she needs reading glasses after years of straining her eyes in dark rooms studying.

• Annabeth likes to attend marches, protests and rallies to show her support for every community.

• She is bi af and she sure as heck doesn’t hide it.

• Annabeth has a backpack with her at all times containing bare essentials, just in case she is forced to go on another quest and has no way of escaping it.

• She has fluffy owl slippers.

• She organises a canned food drive for the camp so that kids have foods to take with them on their quests. She makes sure to tell them to bring back the cans so the Satyrs have a nice snack.

• As much as she hates to admit it, Annabeth has adhd and is easily distracted. Because of this, she can fixate on her studies for hours only to be snapped out of it simply because she remembered something she had to do. She also has multiple projects to work on at once because she has poor organisational skills and likes to flit between things.

• She takes every opportunity she can get to punch the gods in the face.

• Her favourite colour is yellow.

• She loves fixing things.

• Even though she does so many things with her life, Annabeth still finds the time to take Percy out on dates, usually to donut shops just to watch him look around eagerly for monsters and grip tightly onto his pen.

• Hiking boots. At all times.

• She wears funky socks which always get her excited to show people.

• Messy buns.

• Milkshakes.

• Favours practicality over style.

• Has her Yankees cap on her at all times so she knows for sure that if she ever needs to she can just disappear.

• She has Leo build Bob the Titan a shrine at Camp Half Blood which takes a photo of the stars every night, so that one day, if she ever sees him again, she can show him the stars.

• She gets Tattoos to remind herself of everything she has accomplished. But she makes sure to keep them small so that she knows there is still space in her life for future accomplishments.
