I have a deep love for Native American, Aztec, Mayan, and Incan Cultures. I also have a deep love for European History (my favorites being Pre-Roman Brittania, Ancient Greece, and Age of Exploration). I also love the fantasy genre and I am a huge fan of RPG (in case you couldn’t tell). Thus I love the games I am about to point out.
Dragons Conquer America and Chronica: Age of Exploration.
Both are historical fantasy games set in/around the age of exploration.
Both are epic.
DCA, by Burning Games, is a great game with a unique system that involves Dragon Riders, Werejaguars, Headhunting Tribal Necromancers, Conquistadors, Inquisitors, Missionaries, Courtesans, Aristocrats, and more as Player Options. There are spells that require human sacrifice, spells that enable you to become the vessel for the horsemen of the apocalypse, spells that enable you to summon a giant serpent, seduction magic, magic tattoos, and more. Also, Ave Maria and Pater Noster are spells for Christian Spellcasters, while the Norse are under the rule of Giants, King Arthur is still alive and leads an army of Fairies, Eastern Europe is ruled by Vampires, and the Muslims have allied with Djinn. It is all really cool.

Chronica is a Pathfinder setting set in a historical fantasy version of our world during the age of exploration. There are Olmec Lizardmen, and Empire of Rakshasa, Atlantis, and The Library of Alexandria. You can be an Atlantean Elf, an Olmec Lizardmen, a Turkish Artillerymen, a Half-Rakshasa, and so much more. Also, Genghis Khan is back (he was frozen in stone all this time), and you should heed the rumors of the Bermuda Triangle. It is all really cool.

I highly recommend both and give them both 5 out of 5 stars.

“Your manner of speech is strange to me.”
- Origin:Atlantean
“I….travel…friend!”
- Origin:Atlantean
“…I travel friend…
(impatiently) …You are a friendly traveler?”(does anyone else love how she’s correcting his shitty atlantean LOL bbies ♥)
- Origin:Latin(look at this frickin dweeb switching into latin)
“So,my friend, I am a traveler!”
- Origin:Latin
“You speak the language of the Romans!”
- Origin:French(milo plz)
“Do you speak French?”
- Origin:French
“Yes, sir!”
And for the record, Atlantean was written/created by Marc Okrand the dude who made Klingon.
So Kida and Milo are ACTUALLY talking to each other. Not just saying gibberish.
@iputabirdonmyhead
I love this movie so much.
Its linguistics are so profoundly goofy that it hurts my head.
But I will love Atlantis until my dying day.
(Oh god oh god, but why the ever-loving fuck would they all be able to speak the modern languages that came from whatever common ancient root we’re going with? Proto-shit with all the asterisks: sure. But modern languages? When they’ve been isolated for however many thousands of years? And why can none of the Atlanteans read their own goddam language when there have to have been people older than Kida was when everything went to shit who survived?)
I love Atlantis so much tho
group of adventurers breaking into your standard booby-trapped ancient forbidden temple/labyrinth/tomb/whatsit–accompanied by a UNESCO World Heritage archeologist whose only professional concern is site preservation
wait
Atlantis is like if they took a cast from a work place related comedy (think Parks and Rec, Brooklyn 99, The Office) and instead of low-stakes hijinks sent them on an Epic Quest
and it’s great
THIS FILM IS SO UNDERATED. ATANTIS AND TRESURE PLANET WERE LIKE MY FAVEROUITE FILMS GROWING UP
Heey, ME TOO.
Gosh, the memories.
I will forever hate Eisner because he torpedoed the Atlantis series.
It had a good concept: Each episode will show why each and every character were the best in their respective field. For example, there’s an episode where Mole, thanks to his extensive geology knowledge, not only helped the team in solving a mystery, but also actually prevented their death. Totally elevating him from his comic relief character.
Damn You Eisner!
alright i have the beginnings of a theory but i need help fleshing it out.
so. all of us here have one or two defining pieces of childhood media that turned us gay, right? and what type of gay we are today is dependent upon those pieces of media. i’m trying to catalogue us– i have three categories so far, with a few different things that fit, and there’s a sort of axis going, but i can’t work out the last category and i need y’all’s help what’s the fourth quadrant
I THINK I GOT IT Y’ALL please submit your corrections down below
Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
