No one asked for this but I have a LOT of feelings about archery. I see so many mistakes when people draw archers that look awkward or just straight up don’t make sense, even in like, really technically good professional art. So, I put together a guide!
Obligatory disclaimer: I’m an amateur artist, and this guide isn’t to teach you archery! It only touches on some aspects of archery technique, and doesn’t even go into other important stuff (like arrow rests, or over the top impossible fantasy bow designs). I just wanted to highlight what I consider when I draw an archer!

Last time i posted on here it was about SAI, when it was finished for my university hand in. It’s grown a lot since then, we gained funding through Tranzfuser and have been working endlessly to make it what it is today. It’s become something I am so proud to have been a part of.

Some angels and their weapons with a few lil descriptions
First angel is Gif, they’re a half-print angel, not really a proper guardian but tags along .Png and .Wav for the fun of it. Their weapon is the weakest and basically a peashooter… the equivalent of giving a younger sibling an unplugged controller.
2nd is .Wav, She used to wield a spear but due to her arms being torn away, she uses her veins as whips. She added barbed wires at the end for extra damage
3rd is .Png! A spunky and slightly crazed angel, his weapon of choice is a chainsaw, swinging around to whatever poor demon is in his way.
And Lastly .Jpeg! Using a blaster, they use their blood as ammo, hardening it and shooting it as bullets.
Im cleaning my drives and have to look at all the stuff of the last years.. some of the stuff i didnt like when i made it looks okay to me now so i might as well post it and scream into the void here
The end of another week draws near! Finis Friday looking decidedly definite in this engraving by Joan Hassall. From “The Parson’s Daughter and Other Stories” by Anthony Trollope, first edition thus (The Folio Society, 1949), inscribed by the illustrator.
This rough-hewn bow is carved from many interlocking pieces of sage wood. The creaking of the wood when drawn is intelligible to the wielder and full of secret knowledge. The sagebow has 3 charges. Whenever you draw this bow to make a ranged attack, you can expend 1 charge to learn a secret. This secret can be: the location of one trap or secret door within 150 feet of you, the surface thoughts of the creature you are attacking, the location of any food or water within 150 feet of you, or a piece of ancient lore from the region you are in. Secrets are no longer than a single phrase. If you choose to cancel your attack after learning a secret, you may do so, ending your action. The sagebow regains all spent charges daily at dawn.
Endelva drew her bow and aimed it at the hulking beast, snorting obliviously as it rooted for tubers. But before she loosed an arrow, she listened closely to the creaking of the sage wood. It whispered the fear and determination of a mother in search of food for her children before the harsh winter winds blow from the north and the long hunger sets in. Endelva hesitated before lowering her bow, her conscience ruling that she must find quarry elsewhere. - Like our work?
