When shooting a bow, it is very important to keep your shoulders in line. In picture A, the individual would have a difficult time aiming because they are using their muscles to hold the bow. You use muscles to hold the bow, but in picture B, the individual is using the bones in their arm to help them hold the pressure of the outstretched bow, allowing for a higher accuracy and steadier aim.
Despite the bad positioning on the page, and the struggle to make the two of them correct compared to each other, I’m rather happy with this rough sketch of Maedhros and Fingon!
It’s still early, so I’m not sure how far I’ll take it yet, but it felt good to draw my favorite elves again!
(And Maedhros and Fingons friendship will always get me! I imagine this scene where Maedhros teaches Fingon to shoot, being the eldest!) ✨
A few weeks ago at Swordcraft I ran with The Blades of the North, a Norse inspired warband. I finally got a good chance to pick up my bow and arrows again as well as play around with a Calimacil Dane Axe. Needless to say, it was a LOT of fun.
I made the blue dress and dark blue hood in a bit of a rush, but the rest of the outfit is made up of some awesome stuff from Mytholon: Underdress: Alina Undergarment in Cream Brown dress:Leandra dress Leather Bodice: Isolde bodice floral
Rush character design for a group event in Art League PH. We have our time limit of 24 hours but ofc I had to sleep and run a couple of errands. Almost dieded lololol~ (I have so many things that I’d like to fix but well, this should be the final piece so I just left it)
League ( Argonauts ) Name:Atalanta Race:Human Weapon: Eye of Artemis, Bow and arrow of Artemis Skills: - Eye of Artemis: Able to see supernatural and paranormal entities/energies uncommon to the human eye - Bow of Artemis: Able to manifest the energy of the bow of Artemis when the oath has been evoked. - Arrow of Artemis(passive when the oath has been evoked): Able to summon multiple energy arrows, that can either heal(yellow) or cause damage(blue). Atalanta can alter the arrows size, and strength. (limited)
Short origin story: (AU based from the original greek mythology) - Abandoned by her father in the mountains when she was born until hunters found and raised her. She learned to fight and hunt, and lost her right eye in the process. Having grown up in the wilderness, Atalanta became a fierce hunter and was always happy. She took an oath of virginity to the goddess Artemis in exchange for abilities that no normal human could attain.
No one asked for this but I have a LOT of feelings about archery. I see so many mistakes when people draw archers that look awkward or just straight up don’t make sense, even in like, really technically good professional art. So, I put together a guide!
Obligatory disclaimer: I’m an amateur artist, and this guide isn’t to teach you archery! It only touches on some aspects of archery technique, and doesn’t even go into other important stuff (like arrow rests, or over the top impossible fantasy bow designs). I just wanted to highlight what I consider when I draw an archer!

Last time i posted on here it was about SAI, when it was finished for my university hand in. It’s grown a lot since then, we gained funding through Tranzfuser and have been working endlessly to make it what it is today. It’s become something I am so proud to have been a part of.
