The concept is a simple one. You post images of your work to sell for no more than£200 each (not including shipping.) Anyone can then buy the work. Every time you reach £1000 of sales you pledge to buy another artist’s work for £200.

Chronicles of me trying to have a productive quarantine :
*First lockdown measures* Now that universities are closed for two weeks, I will be able to spend more time on my dance studio and improve my dancing
*Full lockdown announcement* Dance studios are closed but I will be working on my drawings with all his free time
*1 month of lockdown * Okay I have an art block and I don’t feel like drawing anything for so long but maybe I can write more
*3 months of lockdown* What if I learned Arabic?
*6 months of quarantine* What IF I learned….how to play the Guitar?

i scrapped these last winter because of a spelling mistake
but late tonight i am remembering a time that almost feels lifetimes ago now back in 2012 when i wrote something with a little doodle on a piece of paper marked up from testing pens that had a spelling mistake
my friend claro found it & saw value in it & asked if he could get it printed out as a huge poster
when i saw it last year when i finally made it back out east right before the pandemic hit, it really hit my heart & the misspelling only really added to it
it reminds me that perfectionism is fake & to hold up everything that is meaningful to you
thanks claro, your perspective has always had a way of doing just that for people
this one says “covid safety is community care,” i made it a point in which i was going through what was likely the pinnacle of stress, fear and grief for me in pandemic times with the intention of taping it to telephone polls as a way of getting my ass outside during a deep mental hell rut

It’s unpredictable.

But very messy.

This is the sculpture that I have made during Covid lock-down. I needed to express the feeling of protection that I felt when the pandemic started. Protect the people I love and myself from an unknown and hostile environment. As the events happened, that physical feeling of defense was transformed into a psychological need to care for the hope to continue despite adversity. Inside those hands I shelter everything that drives me to move on.
