Dash Customization
Once you’ve built a dashboard that fits your vibe, you might want to change the look and feel of your dashboard. This is helpful if you prefer a light or dark mode for your dashboard. Here’s how you can change the dashboard color palette on desktop and the mobile app.
Desktop
- Tap the human icon
- Tap “Change color palette
- Scroll through the dashboard palettes
Mobile
- Tap the human icon
- Tap the gear in the top right of your blog
- Tap “General Settings”
- Tap “Color Palette”
- Choose your palette

Welcome To Theme Garden
The Theme Garden is a place where you can browse and install hundreds of themes to your blog. There are two ways to access the Theme garden. Through your blog’s customization page and through tumblr.com/themes.
Installing a theme through the customization page allows you to preview the theme with your blog’s posts. However, there is a limited selection of themes.
There are more themes to view on tumblr.com/themes. However, you can only preview the theme with sample posts. You can always install the theme and edit it afterwards through your customization page.
Installing themes through the customization page
- Go to your blog while you’re signed in.
- Click the art palette in the top right corner.
- Click “Browse themes” on the sidebar
- Browse and sort through themes.
- When you find a theme you like, click it to preview the theme with your posts.
- Now click “Use”
- Make any edits to the theme before clicking “Save”.
Installing themes through tumblr.com/themes.
- Visittumblr.com/themes while you’re signed in. You’ll see a lot more theme options here.
- Preview a theme before installing it on your blog.
- Once you find a theme you like, click install.
