My animal insurance has decided they will no loger be covering Tia’s vet bills - I am fighting them on this, but until then I need to fund another glucose curve test for her.
SO with that in mind, I’m offering a short-term rate of £8 for commissions of 1,000 words or less.
So this is my current situation. I go in for surgery tomorrow morning (5 May 2022) for the orthopedic specialists to try to add pins, screws, plates, silverware, glassware, maybe a kitchen sink, etc. to try to keep my ankle rather ankle-shaped.
I registered for the surgery online. You have to make some sort of payment prior to treatment if it’s been scheduled like this, and this is what popped up:
Not that this is just the cost of the surgery.
It does not include the ten hours in the ER, will not include any medications, or follow up appointments, or therapies, or mobility aids, or anything else of that nature. I’m also expecting to be out of work for at least 6 more weeks… after missing this whole week.
I set up a gofundme to get some help. More of the “how it happened” is available through the link. The goal for the crowdfunding is only enough to cover the surgery and (approximately) the time off work.

Thanks so much to those who have reached out about the Marshall Fire destroying my parents and my home. They have a place to live now for a year or two, so I can start fielding in person donations of items for them soon. Unfortunately, I don’t qualify for much monetarily from disaster relief funds, and obviously can’t take physical donations until I leave Japan in the spring, so…I am not doing well. Hey all, Chichi’s mom here. I hate to do this but my parents home was destroyed in the Marshall Canyon fire in Colorado this afternoon: they had less than 30mins to evacuate, they grabbed a few days of meds and clothes, wallets and ID, phones, a tablet, and their birds (not even a travel cage, they shoved the big one in the back seat ), and ran. They’re safe at my aunt’s up north and my brother and his wife and pets are safe as well (their neighborhood was evacuated but didn’t burn yet at least), but everything in that house I didn’t list (including, sadly, their fish)? Gone. Everything they owned, plus 85% of my belongings (excepting only what is here in Japan), including wedding stuff, every one of my books, CDs, DVDs, family heirlooms, childhood toys, instruments, my dad’s art studio and all of his work….everything. So I’m out almost everything, and they’re homeless heading into 2022, with the four birbs, too.
We are planning to move back to the states in April/May (with the birb), and now we won’t have a place to stay, and my parents don’t even have a week of clothes or meds. If anyone is able to help, either by donating funds (you can specify for me or for my parents, they need it more but we do, too) or items (say, bird stuff, clothes, books, whatever), could you please get in touch? I’m in a bad situation and I desperately need help!!

Thursday, May 12th: Hi everyone, I’m Gemma, a bi, mentally ill disaster, who is in urgent need of help as things have unfortunately gotten much worse for me since my last post, and I’m really struggling to pay off my overdue accounts and keep my utilities (electricity/gas) on.
As most of you are already aware from my previous posts, I have been struggling financially these past few months due to my welfare benefit (Universal Credit) being under a review, which is due to my worsening mental/physical health and the UK’s controversial changes to how benefits are assessed and assigned. And at the moment, I’m currently struggling to get by, asmy application for Disability (PIP) was declineddespiterecently being diagnosed with PCOS & MDD, and due to awaiting DWP assessments, my debt from overdue bills is piling up which is making it difficult for me to get by.
I know this is a huge ask, and I’m completely heartbroken to be asking for help again, but I still desperately need some as my accounts are overdrawn due to late bills and fees, and my meters are on the verge of going out. All I need is £300 to pay my overdue accounts and to help keep my utilities on until I get my welfare again at the end of the month.
