This was a super interesting custom order I had the privilege to complete for one of my awesome repeat customers! This customer is a biologist who has been working with vernal pools and requested I create an artistic representation of an amphibian egg mass as a glass ornament. For those of you who may not know, many amphibians (like frogs and salamanders) lay their eggs in gelatinous clusters in the water, often attached with sticks and algae. I have found egg masses like this when playing in ponds and swamps as a kid. It was a cool project to make one in glass.

I’ve added a new option for my fairy garden mushrooms on Etsy! They’re now available with a flat base instead of a plant stake for different display options. This has been requested by several customers for use in their aquariums so I thought I should make it an option on the listing.
I’ve added a few new wintery items to the Etsy shop for the holiday season including some Christmasy mushrooms!
The Amanita Muscaria mushroom is found throughout the Northern hemisphere often growing under conifer trees during the winter months. Dating back to prehistoric times, these mushrooms have been eaten by reindeer in the Arctic and used for their mind altering properties by Shamanic cultures during winter solstice rituals. It is said that these shaman and the red and white color of the mushrooms are part of the inspiration behind today’s common depiction of Santa Claus and his red and white suit, as well as his flying reindeer.
Handmade glass Amanita pendants are now available made-to-order in the shop along with glass candy canes, holly and mistletoe pendants for the season.

‘Halo of Decay’ finally went out to its new home this week! This sculpted glass cat skull with a halo crown of coper mushrooms is one of my first #electroformed projects and I am very fond of it. I’m so glad someone is finally giving it a forever home. ✨ I know I haven’t been posting much for the past month or so and I’m going to try to start making more content and I’ve already got some new art projects in the works. I gave myself a nice and much needed little break. I’m finally feeling well and recovered from the stomach ulcers and flare up of anxiety I was experiencing in October. I’ve also been adjusting to some recent relationship changes and been getting used to living alone for the first time. I recently celebrated my 30th birthday and was very happy to get to enjoy it with my good friends, many of whom I had not seen in person since the start of the pandemic. It was a lovely way to welcome a new decade and a new chapter in my life. I’m looking forward to finishing out this year with renewed creativity and exciting projects. Stay tuned for new work and Holiday sales in my shops coming soon!

My shop is still on #vacationmode while I catch up on things and heal my stomach ulcer but here is a look at the finished display for my #ghostpipe sculpture. This piece is a homage to the little ecosystem at my local park where I found many #monotropauniflora and #russulaceae mushrooms this summer. I used real dried leaves from the park on the base I made for the glass flowers and mushrooms. This piece is meant to spark conversation about the interconnected relationships between plants, trees and #mycorrhizal fungi happening below our feet when we tread in the forest.

I was super busy all of September getting ready for the Wheaton arts Festival of Fine Craft which was this past weekend! The weather was perfect and I was lucky enough to have my booth space next to my friends @phyllisseidnerpottery @chartreuse_glassworks and @studio_del_vetro
It was great to connect with new and old artist friends and I had a super successful event overall! It was a really great experience but I also can’t downplay the amount of stress and struggle it was for me also.
As you have probably heard me talk/write about in the past, I am diagnosed with CPTSD and panic disorder that impact my life daily. These conditions can make simple things like driving, social situations, dealing with crowds and even just leaving my house difficult at times. As you can imagine, the quarantine exacerbated these issues quite a bit. This was my first time vending an event since 2019 and also my first multiple day event. My anxiety levels were through the roof for weeks leading up to the festival. I had some major panic attacks before, during setup, and during the festival but I managed to rally myself to be social, run my booth and make it through the entire event. I did even manage to enjoy myself quite a bit. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my trusty assistant/support/ wonderful father, @raybebak who helped me throughout the whole weekend (Thanks Dad ily!)✨
Unfortunately, the stress took a toll on my physical body. Anxiety is notorious for disrupting the body’s functioning especially in the digestive system. Sadly with the prolonged stress I was experiencing surrounding the festival I have developed a stomach ulcer which has had me in great discomfort even as my anxiety has subsided.
To give myself a change to catch up and heal, I have put my online shops on vacation mode for the time being. I’m still working on finishing up and mailing out online orders I received prior to the festival. I hope to have them all shipped by the end of this week as well as updating my website inventory from sold items. Shop will reopen asap! Send me some healing vibes please
I made a bunch of cute little bottle pendants~ with and without flowers The question is should I fill them with moss, herbs and trinkets or sell them as is?? I love putting together little curio bottles but maybe people would prefer them empty? I’m not sure.

I love this piece so much and wish I could say that I can’t wait to make more like it but its not often I find bones like this to use in my art. I believe these chompers came from a little wild weasel. They are surprisingly pretty common here in NJ but very rarely seen due to their elusive and nocturnal nature.
