When I speak of our Transgender Ancestors, you must know there’s an actual Roman Empress in that legacy.

She was a Syrian Priestess. She didn’t give a **** about the Patriarchal Roman Elite/Establishment. Created Rome’s first Women’s Senate and they were NOT happy about it.

She loved sex workers, artists, and Wrestlers.

I made a comic about her in 2019

…and a bunch of “scholars” came out of the wood works attempting to diss her saga, and caution me from spreading “dangerous” information, so as not to inappropriately influence the youth.

Here’s what I have to say about that?

Was Elagablus a flawless human being? No.

But She was a great heel. Excellent worker.

I wonder if this has anything to do with…

Loving watching this project come to life!!! ♥️

Let’s talk about the 2nd Edition (while my hair dries)

Image shows the 2nd edition of "In A Word: Trans." The book will have a blue front cover, a pink back cover, and a black spine. J really wants there to be a fancy metallic sticker that says 2nd edition as well.ALT

When I started work on a collection of my comics it was really important to narrate my process with new work.

I wanted the book to be universal and very easy for any reader, so these new comics/pages are VERY cute:

J (a Transgender Nonbinary they/them Witch) stands and sweetly says: Hi! I'm Justin! I'm Trans Nonbinary with they/their pronouns! ...not that I always understood what that meant!ALT

I refer to this chibi version of myself as “Dollface Justin.” I was forced to adopt this simpler style after a fairly severe injury that upturned my life for about three years.

I am a MUCH better cartoonist now.

In the 2nd edition I’d work to make my narration as interesting (if not more so) than the collection itself.

A 2nd edition would showcase (easily) 3x the comics in the 1st edition. It may also ruffle some feathers.

While the 1st edition might be considered “candy coated,” I would make a point of speaking up about how Trans people are treated and how—seriously—we’ve suffered enough!

And besides that, for every comic of mine you’ve seen? There’s about ten more you’ve never seen. I intend to COMB my work and showcase VERY personal art.

It will be me at my most vulnerable and I am happy to do this if it helps someone. And I know it will. I know this.

The “In a Word: Trans Pride Edition” Kickstarter launched June 1st.

There are two very simple goals for this campaign:

To reprint “In a Word: Trans” — cuz we sold out and people want this book (and I’m tired of shrugging at them.)

To raise funds for a my first ever zine, a game called _QU3ST, and/or possiblytheIn A Word: 2nd Edition (AKA “The Blue Boy”)

Moving forward I’d like to be respectful of my readers here!

As we enter that campaign I can create a “Boss Post” wherein I create a giant chain of updates.

or

I can inform y'all of our progress with a post-by-post style of update (leaning toward this one)

Please leave a comment and share this post. That would be lovely/helpful! <3

Love yourself.

Share the wealth.

THEY HERE! <3

Absolutely I’m simply designing and purchasing my own **** BUT you must know the shirts are $14 right now but only for about a day or two!

J Them/They A Transgender Nonbinary (they/them) Witch stands in a black frock of some kind. They have nervous hands but smile at you anyway. The words read: When you use these words, "dumb, stupid, moron, idiot, fool" you're bullying! Charred hearts float about the Witch as they quietly plead, "Try stopping! Try!"ALT

More?

Story time:

Who defined the concept of “Intelligence?” Humans. This is all perfectly fine—except for the fact—that we didn’t start with kindness or compassion first. The notion was weaponized almost immediately.

I was never a bully myself. I was a BIGbully.

A major part of that equation was being a victim of bullying for a very long time. Plus, I followed the example set by most adults, movies, and shows. We are very cruel to one another, and often worse to ourselves.

You can’t “fix” bullying with more bullying.

Once you make a conscious effort to eliminate abusive vocabulary from your daily use, you’ll readily observe it everywhere in every community. Ground up kinda thing.

So we either have to agree that bullying is excellent, gun violence is happiness, murder is joy, war is love. Or we can slowly unlearn and work at changing our culture of violence.

I won’t force you. All I can do is ask.

So I’m going to be on display in a Human Library in Fall…

…and they asked for:

Your “Book” title
A short description of the prejudice you are presenting for folks to overcome/ learn more about
Why you think the topic is important to represent as part of the Human Library
A high resolution heads
hot

So I give them this:

Anyway they’re freaking out and I guess there’s already a line of librarians that’s going to but in front of the patrons ^_^;

Also guess what’s going to be in hardcover

Yes Oliver! YES!SO proud of you!

The Test Fleet has (mostly) returned unscathed! There is enough data for me to conclude that a 6th version is needed/wanted. Nothing major, only just fine tweaking.

ThereWILL be an opportunity to sign up as a Test Pilot again, but I can’t say when.

J Them/They The caption reads "Ghosting kicks like a mule." In this comic a Transgender Nonbinary Witch named J (with They/Them pronouns) is getting kicked in the face by an actual mule. J sports a tank top and blue tights, their glasses fly off their face from the impact. The mule is completely black and it's eye is made of the "power button" symbol seen on many computers/devices. This comic is saying being ghosted can feel really bad.ALT

Don’t click this

I’m unsafe to ghost. My brain is excellent, but emotional regulation isn’t easy for me. Sometimes it feels impossible. My downward spiral is swift, vicious, and easily triggered.

But I ghost too. It’s a grey area!

The power we can reclaim is learning to let go. Easier said than done? but most things worth doing be like that.

J Them/They A Transgender Nonbinary Witch with they/them pronouns sports a most handsome pair of mustaches, whilst dressed in black cowboy boots, a black cowboy hat, and a black spaghetti string tank top. Fancy lettering reads "shit kickers" and points to the boots. The shorts aren't just shorts. They're very short shorts. Denim Daisy Dukes, to be specific. Really it's only just an illustration of a look that's Masculine and Feminine at the same time. Roughly. ALT

Pop Quiz: Who goes nuts for me in this outfit?

A) Moms
B) Disgraced Former Governors
C) Gay
D) All of the Above

It’s a trick question. Andrew only cares about the boots.

Two Queer cuties bedecked in pride flags have fun together in fun outfits. The tall redheaded nonbinary wears a floral print dress with pearls, a black shawl, and black lipstick as well. Their partner looks sharp in a black sport coat and black velvet leggings, nice shoes too! She's making kissy faces at the camera looking all cute. She's got a Masters Degree in Information Science and I'm so proud of her.ALT

I want to raise money for newer projects, but especially one collaborative game/book with my Beloved! (see more below!) <3
