#just my thoughts

LIVE

Okay, so today will be an ask-answering day.

LET’S GO.

i really gotta stop getting my feelings hurt when people make fun of my looks on the internet cause ever single last person who has done this either:

a. is ugly as fuck.

b. don’t even have pictures of themselves up online.

listen. i don’t disagree with peacemaker-ic’s take by any means. but i do think it’s pretty tone deaf. at a time where a lot of simmers are (rightfully) distrustful of cc creators it just feels really weird to say that really what we should be doing is giving creators more support, even if those creators are free. and then dropping a list of all the things the community should be doing to not create an “actively hostile environment” all while saying that we brought this upon ourselves? i get the point they were trying to make. when free creators feel under-appreciated and get little support and then they see the paid creators getting so much out of this it can cause them to want to switch to making money off this in potentially unethical ways (or at least i think that was their point). but why couldn’t they have waited a few days to say this so things weren’t like actively on fire? also creators aren’t stupid or helpless. we make our own decisions and should be held responsible for them and if we make shitty decisions and hurt people guess what! that’s our fault! the focus shouldn’t be on how the community might have pushed creators to do certain things but instead on the creators who made the decisions they did because ultimately they’re the ones at fault. and again, this could be a great conversation to have and potentially lead to a healthier attitude on simblr and a better relationship between simmers and creators but read the fucking room!! again, i understand where they were coming from and don’t think they were trying to blame simmers or cause any harm, but it still rubbed me the wrong way.

Dont hate me on this, but I really was on the verge of leaving the mcu fandom. Back then, i was really excited because of the neverending connections between the movies and the plot building to one character/movie for the next phase, but then i became really overwhelmed with all of the new marvel series. (hawkeye, falcon and the winter soldier, etc. im not hating on the series tho)

Then i heard about The Moon Knight, it was very refreshing to see it as a standalone series, It’s like a relief. it didn’t show any cameos/connections from any other past characters of mcu (except that one thing about it being related to the black panther).

If they will continue season 2 and build a connection there to the other characters of mcu or continue it as a standalone series; either of the two, i will still watch it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sharon had to die. The only way they could finish the Stroh story was in a way that she wouldn’t approve of and would never allow to happen.

PSA: given Recent Events, it’d probably be a good idea to cancel your Netflix subscription right now, if you’ve got one.

It’s looking like there’s a good chance that the company is going to crash and burn within the next few months, and a thing that often happens with subscription-based services when they become insolvent is that they stop processing cancellations, or at least start taking an unreasonably long time to do so; once that happens, the only way to stop them from taking your money is to dispute each monthly charge with your credit card provider, and y’all know what a nightmare that can be.

Fair warning!

it’s not gonna happen in a few months. a few years? maybe, but not months. the company is still profitable, it’s just that the increase in profits is slowing more than we’ve ever seen it before which investors don’t like. it’s the “when growth companies stop growing” phenomenon which is why their share price fell. with the increase in streaming providers and the fight to take up market share, it’s more realistic a streaming giant would buy up netflix rather than Netflix folding. their catalogue of content would be tempting.

the problem netflix has to figure out is how to stop their subscriber loss. right now they’re cracking down on password sharing and raising the price to keep up revenue, but that’s not actually helping. one, netflix has built up a reputation for cancelling beloved shows before they’re completed despite having heavy hitting shows like stranger things and squid game. two, when your catalogue offerings stay relatively the same and you keep raising the price anyway, eventually people are gonna stop paying bc it’s not worth the price.

if they can figure out how to actually entice viewers, rethink their content, and repair their image as a streaming provider, they’ll probably be fine. it’s just a matter of whether the leadership will follow suit. but i don’t think people need to do a mad cancellation dash for fear of the company folding if they’re content with their subscription.

my toxic trait is thinking at AFO and OFA can’t exist without each other and so either someone is going to agree to get AFO knowing what is and having to live with that burden (like who the fuck wants to deal with fucking ballsack face as a vestige or even being labeled a villain due to the nature and past actions of said quirk)  or All Might is going to take OFA back from Izuku and sacrifice himself because I do not see Izuku dying at all

Or Izuku takes AFO and that shit cancels out

ALTHOUGH I have not been on tumblr in almost a year I HAVE been working on my very long Kuvira redemption fic steadily the whole time. And while I’m super excited about the new comic it’s slightly bittersweet because it almost makes this big project feel a bit pointless…because we may now be getting a canon Kuvira redemption story. The whole reason I was writing it was because I was dissatisfied with where they had left Kuvira and her relationships with other characters (Korra and the Beifongs mostly), but now it seems those things WILL be addressed.

I suppose I will keep going with it, I’m actually close to the point where I can start publishing chapters. I’ve basically had the idea in my head since the series ended almost 4 years ago and I’ve put a lot of work into it. But with so much time that has passed since then, and with the promise of what the Kuvira fandom has always wanted on the horizon, I don’t know if anyone will be that interested in reading it.

One thing I love about the idea of a Pokemon and Bugsnax crossover is just the idea of there being mass panic as someone nearly chokes to death from trying to swallow an Appletun or Cherrubi whole expecting it to turn into mush and slide down their throat. I want only food based pokemon to be part of this to keep things consistent.

Also things are gonna get pretty weird with Bounsweet. If Gramble does manage to accidentally evolve one there are going to be so many questions.

Part 2 of Anne and Marcy swapping places. Anne would be the one who would be connected to the Core and that would either make the Core weaker or much more stronger. Weaker due to Anne spending the series up until that point working on her flaws so she’s less vulnerable and I like the idea of the Core finding her a nuisance and regretting using her as a vessel. Or stronger because Anne has tapped into her calamity powers and the Core can now use it too. Andrais might go easier when it comes to hunting down Marcy and the Plantars. Wanting to capture Marcy without hurting her (too much), or maybe even hoping he wouldn’t be able to catch her to spare her.

Also the reunion with Sasha would be wild. Sasha wouldn’t be ready to forgive when they reunite, but she wouldn’t/be able to turn away Marcy since her feelings aside she would be an invaluable asset to the resistance.

Granted I personally don’t have issues with how Amphibia went. So this isn’t me saying this is how it should have went. Also not sure if anyone else has come up with this before me, but what if Marcy ended up on Earth with the Planters and Anne got stabbed? While Marcy was doing her thing with the music box Anne saw Andrias about to stab her and tried to save which lead to Marcy being knocked into the portal and Anne taking her place. With that Marcy Wu becomes the main character of Amphibia for season 3.

I don’t think Marcy is a bad person and it looked like she understood how badly she messed up during True Colors. So I think having her arc be about her facing the consequences of her actions in her reality and figuring out how to move forward and make amends despite things looking unfixable is fitting. Not sure where Marcy would be staying during this since I could see her not being able to immediately go home because she’s not mentally prepared to face her parents (I’m holding off on judging her parents since we only saw one scene of them. They could be toxic, or the family might just be bad at communicating) or because she doesn’t have a home to return to. Things would be pretty awkward with the Planters since with the whole everything that happened and Sprig would definitely be blaming Marcy for what happened to Anne. Hopefully Marcy will get her own found family moment with the Planters too which would help her with her own family issues. They are justified in being mad at her, but she is still a teen who was manipulated so I don’t think forgiveness is off the table.

Magical girls are just the fairy version of werewolves

Actually I want to know what would happen if a Magical Girl gets bitten by a werewolf/vampire/zombie/etc. Would their magical girl essence cancel it out, or do they still get affected by it and their magical girl form gets an asthetic change? Or would their civilian form be affected, but the effects are canceled when they transform? I love the last two. With the second one the idea of the Villains being a bit confused, but don’t think too much about the wolf aesthetic their enemy has incorporated into their wardrobe, maybe even thinking it’s part of a new power up. But then on the night of the full moon the cute little magical girl turns into a wolf monster and their battle becomes a literal blood bath.

With the third scenerio I love the idea of the Magical Girl being dangerous as a civilian and blindsiding her enemies as well. Also the idea of them accidentally befriending the Villains because they met her civilian self and were either really into the monster thing or sympathized with her. They try to recruit her because they genuinely like her and they believe that it’s a matter of time before people find out about it and try to hunt her down. They see the experience as an inevitability, but they can’t help by hope that if they can get her under their care she could avoid going through that trauma.

I want to see a Final Destination movie where Death is nice.

A group of people survive an event they were supposed die at, but instead of brutally getting killed off one by one, Death goes to them and tries to reschedule their death. Each person gets at most a month to decide how they want to die and to get their affairs in order. They are also basically immune to everything during this month because they have to die at the specific time they are scheduled to.

There still will be insane deaths, since I could see some people wanting to go out in a (literal) blaze of glory or to really push the limits of what Death can organize for them.

The protagonist and some others spend the movie trying to figure out a loop hole or any way out of dying. Later on they find out that missing your second appointment means you’ll be removed from Death’s list all together and you won’t ever die. Which becomes the make it or break it factor for everyone in the group on whether they continue trying to avoid death.

At least one person will successfully avoid their appointment, and they discover they aren’t invulnerable anymore. They won’t die, but their body will continue to age and accumulate damage.

So if Mei and Miriam adopted a little girl in the future, do you think they’d receive the red panda blessing? I think so. Ming said it was passed down through daughters. They’re was no criteria for them to be blood related. The only qualification was daughter.

Additionally it would be cool if they adopted a child who later identified as trans female and they were blessed with the gift. (It would be a cool sequel.)

Hi, yes, uh, can we talk about how toxic Nicole Watterson is? Thank you very much.

(Explanation under the cut)

this isn’t any hate to you, but most of these are a stretch and honestly this kind of blatant misunderstanding of a character makes me really upset.

1- this might be the only one i somewhat agree with, but it’s also much more of a richard problem than a problem with nicole.

2- i feel like this point is just the same point as the first one. but also, the phrasing is a little odd. the kids aren’t forced to do work, they’re told to do chores. that’s a pretty normal family thing as far as i’m concerned. i do agree that it’s unfair that they have more chores than richard does, though, but again. that’s a richard problem, and nicole even said that she only gives him one chore because she had never seen him able to complete more than that (see “the routine”) its out of her hands and more of a fault of richard

3- this is just wrong. i can not think of a single time that she was violent with her family. sure, she yells at them a lot, and sometimes go far, but she has never been violent with any of them out of anger. the only times the family is ever “violent” with each other is in exaggerated fight scenes (such as in “the remote” or “the parents”) where it isn’t a serious fight and all of them are participating. please don’t throw around the word abuse so lightly

4- i’m not sure i really understand what this is referring to, so i can’t effectively dispute it. it’d be great to have some clarification?

5- (points to “the routine” again) again, nicole has stated that she can’t get richard to do more than the one chore. that goes back to the first point again. not to mention, she doeshave a lot of work. she’s the sole provider for a family of five, and can’t get her husband to do more than one chore. that’s not a fault on her, that’s once again a richard problem.

this all isn’t to say nicole is a perfect amazing person, nobody is and the characters in this show aren’t meant to be. but nicole is far from toxic and certainly isn’t abusive as you stated. she is absolutely flawed for sure, as everyone in this show is, and i’d love more in depth conversations about these flaws, but i feel many points you brought up are either not her fault, or greatly exaggerated. again, this isn’t hate to you at all. but i can’t stand when these characters that i hold dear to my heart are so badly misinterpreted.

Being a black girl with no body ody ody is suicidal

The worst part of turning 24 in May is that my mid twenties are getting closer and closer and my shit? My shit ain’t no closer to getting together.

I just feel like at my tinder age of 23 I shouldn’t feel this intense pending doom that I’ll never find the love of my life and have kids. It’s premature to say the least.

If I could date a music genre it would be Afrobeat

It’s somthin depressing about getting on a dating app as a darkskin plus size black woman in 2022. You could have all the darn confidence in the world, be pretty as hell and still

Do you ever just fantasize about not being attracted to men
