#justice for george floyd

LIVE

For eveyone griping about looting, here are some alternative things to get mad about!

1.) if we are mad at looting then we should return every single artifact and curio in our museums that we have looted from other countries.

2.) Maybe we should start arresting and prosecuting the assholes who buy diapers and sanitizer in bulk to illegally resell at an insane cost while poor families who actually need those items can’t get any because of it.

3.) You should be mad at the double standard of how police treat different protests. Armed “protesters”were allowed to enter a government building WITH THEIR GUNS to politically intimidate, threaten & terrorize politicians who wanted to protect the community with the quarantine. Some even physical pushing police in riot gear but the police did not react and instead protected them. But protesters who seek justice and accountability for a black man brutally murdered by a police officer get beaten, shot at, pepper sprayed and tear gassed.

4.) the more radical protesters who have been causing property damage WHO DO NOT represent the majority of peaceful protestors are going to be grouped as a whole by the right wing to excuse the police brutality against the regular law abiding protestors and black people.

5.) And finally and most importantly, the four fired officers each have a prior history of police brutality that was swept under the rug and ignored STILL have not been charged with MURDERING the unarmed, handcuffed and helpless George Floyd. Everyone SHOULD be irate at THAT!

Hey guys. I’ve gone in and out of inactivity on this account for a while now, but considering what’s happening in the US (where I live), I wanted to come on here and post some links. While I’ve been extremely active on my Twitter page, I know not everyone follows me there. And given the reach this blog has, I felt it was necessary to bring the information here.

If you do not support the Black Lives Matter movement, if you do not support equal rights for everyone regardless of race, if you do not believe that police brutality is a problem and that black people are disproportionately affected, then please unfollow me.

All of that said, here is an excellent resource created by ARMYs to help us all stay informed, stay updated, stay compassionate, and stay aware. It is a compiled list of non-profits to donate to and allows for donations to be split between multiple organizations. Please, if you can, I encourage you to donate.

LINK TO ARMY CARRD FOR DONATIONS: https://btsarmyxblm.carrd.co/

Additionally, here is a link to another carrd containing a list of petitions. This list is ALWAYS updating, so please check it frequently. Your voice matters so very much right now. Please check it out and sign the petitions.

If you can’t donate yourself but still want to contribute, I will provide a link for a Youtube video that is part of an upcoming series. The creator is donating all ad revenue to BLM and to associated bail funds.

Please take the time to educate yourself. Not just about the unjust killing of George Floyd by police, but about all the unjust killings that led up to it. About the culture that allows for these people to disguise themselves as public servants. About the institutions which provide sanctuary for the oppressors while subsisting off of the lifeblood of the oppressed. Here are some really wonderful resources if you want to educate yourselves. Please give them a read. Link 1.Link 2.Link 3.

I realize I’ve been absent from this account, and I should have thought to come here and address this far sooner. That said, I will continue to do my best to offer support and allyship not only right now when it feels immediate, but forever. Even when racism and anti-black sentiment move more covertly than they are moving now.

My account is, was, and will always be a safe space for the disenfranchised. Please never feel uncomfortable here and if there is any way I can support you, let me know. Especially my black followers during this time.

Please stay safe and remember your life is valuable.

I used to want to be a cop, a homicide detective to be exact. I thought it would be a good way to help people, and give them peace of mind.

That was until now.

After what happened with George Floyd, I would be embarrassed to be a cop. I’m starting to question why I wanted to be in the first place. I know there are good cops, but I’m starting to realize the bad outweigh the good, and even the sometimes the good cops wind up being bad.

The system is broken, it always has been.

This needs to stop. All of the lives that have been lost just because of their skin color is disgusting.

Your job as a police officer is to save lives, no take them. Your job is to issue justice, not create fear among a community.

Your job is to protect and serve, not kill innocents.

If a man tells you he can’t breathe, you listen. And if you were half the officer you were supposed to be, if you weren’t a fucking asshole who doesn’t know how to do your job, he would have never been in that position in the first place.

“Please I can’t breathe. My stomach hurts.

My neck hurts. Everything hurts.

They’re going to kill me” ~George Floyd

George Floyd did not deserve to die.

The system is corrupt, it’s broken.

It always has been. It needs to be fixed.

I am not black, but I see you.

I am not black, but I hear you.

I am not black, but I mourn with you

black lives matter.

Adama Traoré died in 2016 after being arrested by the police. Three cops held him to the ground, putting their weight (250 kilos) on him. They kept him handcuffed and didn’t call the emergency right away because they thought he was faking it.

“Je n'arrive plus à respirer” -I can’t breathe- were his last words.

His sister, Assa, has been fighting for justice ever since. Today, thousands of people protested in France, including Paris where Assa was leading the protest. Protesters were peaceful, yet the police set a trap and started to use tear gas for absolutely no reason. This is how they treat people who want justice. They don’t care and never will.

We want justice for George, for Adama, for every black person who has been murdered. We are stronger together.

Justice for George Floyd. Justice for Breonna Taylor. Justice for Ahmaud Arbery.

My blog is supposed to be solely for lesbian/LGBT content, but having the platform that I do, this is too important to not post about. As a non-black lesbian, I must speak up against the injustices faced by the black community, and I urge my followers to do the same. The LGBT community owes so much to black gays and lesbians both historically and today. Please consider donating to any of these organizations shown in the picture. I will provide the links for them below.

George Floyd’s Family’s GoFundMe: https://gofundme.com/f/georgefloyd

Minnesota Freedom Fund: https://minnesotafreedomfund.org

Black Visions Collective: https://www.blackvisionsmn.org

Unicorn Riot: https://unicornriot.ninja

Both NBPOC (non-black people of colour) and white people have the responsibility to combat anti-blackness in our communities. As an Asian lesbian, it is my responsibility to combat anti-black racism in the Asian and LGBT communities. I again urge my followers, if you have not already, start supporting black lives and uplifting black voices today.

Felt in the need of doing these. I’m heartbroken with everything that’s happening and trying to help all of the protestants via twitter, as I’m from Spain and can’t do it physically. As a minor white, it’s the least I can do. ✊✊✊✊✊
