Best cast during a waning or new moon.
Materials:
- Powdered foxglove or agrimony, pine resin (to weaken)
- Dolomite, kunzite, or zoisite (to help break down)
- Frankincense (to burn away negative energy)
- Coarse salt or iron shavings (for banishing)
Light a small fire in your cauldron or altar dish. Place your stone(s) on/around your workspace. Light the incense. Sprinkle the salt or iron into the fire to transform it to accept your intent. Picture the difficulties ahead of you and sprinkle the foxglove or other herbs into the fire while repeating:
“Decresce indevitatus obex meorum”
(Let the barriers before me diminish)
Extinguish the fire and bury the ashes by the dark of the moon.
So proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone, during the most difficult time of my life, and coming out able to finally breathe again.

Mist settles over the waters in the offing, and so held back by the wind, to the small island the boat cannot draw near; although it very much wishes to do so.

This is an old photo from the summer of 2010, taken in Pusan; I found it an amusing companion to this poem as Evelyn and I had decided that the tiny island was Dokdo (a disputed island between Korea and Japan), although of course it is not the actual one, but “Dokdo” literally means “solitary island,” so we thought it an appropriate name for this tiny one. Given the way I am gazing longingly at this poor lonely island, I decided it worked well with this poem. The poem is generally read symbolically, i.e. that the “small island” is a lover to whom one cannot draw near due to being obstructed (by the “wind”) and the view of whom is obscured (by the “mist” settling over the water). The photo also has a boat barely visible, which is interesting. The poem is lamenting the inability to meet one’s lover due to some sort of obstacle, and declares the desire to meet, but contains a hint of desperation that the obstacles cannot be overcome; although the desire is there, “wind” and “mist” are natural phenomena over which man has no control. These therefore might understood symbolically as obstacles outside of one’s control, such as social protocol/standards/class divisions or even family, rumors, etc. Likewise, I could never approach that island, not only because of the mist and the wind, but because I am deathly afraid of fish and will not go in the ocean.

Sometimes I have difficulty reconciling the Sadist in me. I question the morality of it, the philosophy behind it, and the healthiness of indulging it. I have a lot of inhibitions in place, some societal, that make pure, unbridled enjoyment in causing a masochist pain occasionally difficult. A lot of it is the reason there’s ‘Dom drop’, where the Dominant feels remorse and guilt over the things that they have done, after the fact.
Alcohol, though, goes a long way to pulling away those inhibitions, clearing the road of all those troublesome obstacles, and making everything clear sailing. Except, of course, for the fact that without those inhibitions and obstacles, there’s very little to stop me going too far. Couple that with the fact that alcohol fucks your perception right up, and everything gets a little hazy. Funny joke.
The balance that needs to be found is in finding a way of reconciling one state with the other. I don’t want to be the man with no inhibitions, who doesn’t feel the consequences of his actions in full force. But nor do I want to be a man frozen by anxiety, of believing that the things that I enjoy, and, more importantly, that others enjoy, are wrong. And I’ve gone a long ways to doing that. Maybe I’ll explore that in a longer post sometime.
What I need is alcohol without the alcohol. Does that exist?

Starting a business when you have a chronic illness is a lot of work, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done.
You just have to make a plan, work around your limitations and rest when your body needs to.
I’m new to the game, so I can’t give a lot of worthy business tips just yet,but I can share my journey along the way.
Slower steps are still steps and soon you will begin to see results. The key is make a plan, set a routine around your illness and start!

Been working on a bunch of various objects and hazards for rooms. Once I have a nice set, I can play with them and make them more complex as you progress through the area, preventing hallways feeling empty and repetitive.
