Qotd: What company do you recommend for bookmarks?
May is almost here, which means it’s almost time for #AlltheBooksMay22! Are you guys ready for a brand new book challenge??
Book challenges are great for so many reasons. Not only do they give you ideas for posts, but they also help you share your love for books, discover lots of awesome new books, and ways to interact with fellow bookworms as well!
To join along, just share a photo for each daily prompt using the monthly hashtag. Check the hashtag to see all the photos that have been shared for the challenge by fellow Bookworms. (You can also *follow* the hashtag to have posts from the challenge show up in your feed!) Feel free to post and interact as little or as much as you like.
Helpful Bookstgram Tips: • Take a few days worth of photos at a time. It helps to have extras available if you get busy. Also, drafting out your posts ahead of time really helps as well. • Natural lighting is great! Grab a book and head to your nearest window for some awesome lighting. • Interact! It’s a great way to discover new books AND new people too!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! And feel free to share the challenge with your friends!
I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting today on my favorite family memories today. This was a special day for all of us, my sister’s wedding in 2003. Even though so much has happened since then, days like this keep so many beautiful memories alive. This tragedy reminds me how much more love I have to share with my family and friends.
The background pic is from the bridge part of the trail a few weeks ago. Sunsets are one of my favorite peaceful places. There’s a strange poetic beauty in appreciating a day we will never see again.
I often sign off my personal messages with “Peace” in English, Spanish, or Latin depending on who I’m addressing.
I’ve been thinking about this word all day. I had a new found peace the last few months but that got complicated again. Maybe it’s just another reminder of how we’re really not meant for this world.
This is from last Sunday when I was visiting my parents and my hometown parish. It’s a small parish where everyone eats breakfast together after the 8AM mass. As you can see, I was raised in cowboy culture, but I love the virtues I learned here.
The priest is first on top left, the visiting deacon is sitting in front of him, and my dad is 4th from the top left. This picture was actually the priest’s idea. He wanted all the men wearing hats in the picture.
I sometimes have trouble seeing people for the beautiful creations that they are. Many people are very easy, but then there’s the ones that require a little more work. I decided that working on this would be the focus of my Lent.
During an EMDR session with my therapist this week, I had a beautiful, unexpected epiphany of how I can do it more consciously, and it had been a radical change in my inner dialogue already.
Paradox is one of my favorite words because it requires wrestling with complicated truths. We are living paradoxes that can’t be easily contained by labels and boxes, and there’s so much beauty in that.
