Finished First complete color version test for a sci-fi point and click adventure inspired in diverse european comic styles.
Made in Procreate.
What: point-and-click detective adventure, based on Agatha Christie’s novel of the same name. You play as Hercule Poirot, the famous retired Belgian detective, drawn into a case where a murderer announces his murders through letters, and appears to be working his way through the alphabet when it comes to locations and victim names.
This was a game I found simple enough to understand: going places, clicking on things to investigate, interviewing people, and occasionally solving puzzles. It helped that it’s been years since I read The ABC Murders, so I didn’t remember how it ended.
The game is fully-voiced, and if you’re paying attention it’s hard to do badly (though not impossible–I pulled up a guide at some points when I was nervous about doing badly in an interview), as you’re mostly making connections after clicking on everything in the vicinity to investigate those items. I like games that have no jumpscares or timed tasks and make it fairly easy to figure out where I’m going without guides, so this was a pleasant way to spend 6 hours. Glad I bought it on sale, though.
