sapphosees-deactivated20200731:

My first poetry zine, “Girls I’ve Loved,” was met with such a warm welcome on here that I wanted to officially introduce you all to my second poetry zine, “The Lilac Tree.”

“The Lilac Tree” is both the sequel and complement to “Girls I’ve Loved,” so if you liked my first zine, I can guarantee you’ll like this one just as much id not more.

“The Lilac Tree” is available on a pay-what-you-wantbasis. Suggested donation is $2.50, and shipping is free and international!

Check it out by visiting thelilactree.carrd.co!

If you like my work, you can also find me on Instagram @ adidahlke

Signal boosts would be much appreciated, especially if you’re not interested in ordering a zine but still want to help this cool, queer poet get their work out there!

thank you!

I love the way they exist.
They have chaos in their mind but
they’re vibrant in their soul.

They are as powerful as a forest fire!
They think that they destroy everything in their path
But really, they are creating a new path
Creating a new path…
They are the strongest person I know.

We were like gold
Until you were told
I needed basic respect
Then, you sold us down the river
Said our love was worth its weight in gold

So, you cashed it in for profit
But, there were no takers
And you’re still the victim, it seems!

Anxious.
Anxiety.
Quiet thee, brain!

Commotion!
Devotion to the chaos
Endless thoughts
Can’t seem to
Hold onto one
Yet they make me
Nervous!

Do I deserve this?
Disservice!
It is that I exist this way
Instead of being a productive machine!

Demeaning words
Brain says more
Demeaning words

How do I sort through this shit
When my brain is constantly
Throwing

Fit.
Jumping

Can’t just sit
Agitated, I’m
Ill-fated
Destined for the world to collapse
Around me.
…yippee.
