Here’s my 11 month voice video update. Very excited that my one year mark is coming up next month!
Been working out hard at the gym for many months now. I cannot believe the progress I’ve made! To all you transguys who started out tiny like I was: do not give up! I started out 90lbs. I was a string bean. People used to think I had an eating disorder. Look at me now! This is what T did for me! This is what going to the gym does when you’re on T! You can do it too!

And here’s the 10 month voice video! I’ve noticed an Adams Apple forming, and I believe my voice is STILL dropping. I wonder when it’ll stop. If it keeps going I’ll soon sound like Barry White!
Month 9 everybody! Something I wanted to add that isn’t in the video is that I’m no longer wearing binders or sports bras of any sort. For those of you who started out a small B or A, let it be known you can shrink down to practically nothing. Rejoice! Also, I’m loving my voice!
Went to court and officially got my name changed yesterday! Also went to the DMV immediately afterward and got a new license! I’m now officially Keith Zackary Gabrielsen!

No, I don’t hate you. Most trans people are not cis-haters, although some of us are. I love cis people. I need them to survive. My family is cis.
Please don’t ask about my genitals. If we are close friends, then maybe, and if you want to have sex with me, then sure. But other than that, it’s not your business.
Please respect my pronouns. I understand if you mess up. I’m okay with that. But please don’t purposefully mess it up.

I just went to a trans picnic. It was so much fun. I also went to Comic-Con this morning, dressed as Grell from Black Butler. She’s my wife, really. And Germany from Hetalia is my husband!

You cannot tell me that Mulan is not about trans people. I mean, not only is she singing “I may never pass for a perfect bride or a perfect daughter” and she says “though I’ve tried.” Not only the song Reflection, but it’s about a female-bodied person trying to act like a cis-male. The song “I’ll Make A Man Out of You” describes what it really means to be a man. “You must be swift as the coursing river, with all the strength of a great typhoon, with all the of a raging fire, mysterious as the dark side of the moon!” Nothing in there says anything about having a penis. Granted, it’s a children’s movie, but it doesn’t say “The muscles of Hercules” or “The hair of Gaston” or some shit. It has nothing to do with the body. Sure, it says “strength” but that can mean mental strength, too. Okay, rant over.

No filter: Day 1 (march 2, 2015) and Day 2,430 (6.5ish years on T, October 26, 2021). ️⚧️
Transitioning for me is a lot more of peeling back layers and uncovering what was always there than it is of changing into someone entirely new. Becoming who you were always meant to be, your truest self, is something we all spend our lives doing — not just trans folks — our journey just tends be a bit more pronounced.
