SUPPORT THE CREATORS:
Overall Rating: 10/10
Brief Summary: “Woodlands is a webcomic about Edwyn, a wide-eyed satyr whose overconfidence leads to the poisoning of his best friend, Renny, rendering him with an unconventional ailment. Forced from their small wooded village, the two must traverse the harrowing road in search of Cashel, Edwyn’s grandfather, as he is the only one skilled enough to craft a cure.”
Writing Style: Woodlands is very easy to read! It’s a fun, cute story, and each character has their own distinct voice. The conversation flows easily and reads realistically. Oftentimes, comics have a problem with stunted or robotic conversation. Woodlands DOES NOT have this problem in the slightest.
My Opinion: I really loved this story. It’s so funny and lighthearted, but at the same time you can tell there is something more going on. As this comic is still updating regularly, I’m very excited to learn what that is. I love the friendship between Edwyn and Renny. I love seeing how much they care about each other, and I can’t wait to see how their friendship develops. The artwork is absolutely stunning. It’s clear how much care and detail goes into each page. Pretty much, I’m going to keep refreshing the website until it’s updated again!
Sample Quotes:
“The brats tried to corner me after my watch ended. I was up there so long I thought I might actually fall asleep.”
“Magic feels natural to me, but I can never control it enough to make a potion effective.”
