Pennywise’s wagon

3D model made by me.

I tried to make it as accurate as possible (the measurements are as correct as they can be), although it’s missing some key details and textures. Hopefully I can add the curtains, ropes and tiny lantern later once I have the knowledge how to create them. The clown portrait on the front was created by @alienrat-art and the landscape painting on the inside was created by @andromedadualitas.

If my followers haven’t noticed yet, I am a bit of a hermit, and scarcely post, because there’s always something I want to fix, or something that’s never quite ready for presentation, so it never gets shown. I have so many cg projects that never see the light of day. I’m trying to break the habit, so even though there’s things I’d like to fix on him…

This is Jerry! And the UV map for his body. I realize a character like this lends itself to many different parts and textures for better resolution, but I really wanted to keep it simple. Though I royally fucked up giving that black part of his chest so much room on the map, ugh.

This is rigged to a super limited skeleton, meant for an open simulation, so his fingers don’t move. This is my first time attempting to actually render something in blender, as most of my rendering knowledge is in maya, though I really like how blender handles light, even in its built-in renderer. That said, he’s a bit blown out here. Eh. He’s got 3 materials on him, one with a tight specular, one with no specular, and a shadeless (glow) one. But I couldn’t figure out how to make glowing bits. :( There’s a lot I like about blender, but its fucked up material system sucks ass.

Baked occlusion, a few textures, some painted highlights… managed to get that emblem on his back smack over a seam by using photoshop’s 3D tools and projecting an image. No normal maps or specular maps, the engine he’s meant to be running around in doesn’t have the best support for them.

Jerry’s a wayward robot that had been repurposed for wardship (babysitting hoho) thus his silly unicorn stickers. Now he just mines. I’ll get a better pic of his demolition breaker soon.

Recently, I’ve been swamped with work for uni, as once again it’s the time for deadlines, deadlines… and deadlines. So just to share something a bit different, this is one of the characters for a game that I have been working on, it was supposed to be a rather simple, stylised character.  

It was a bit of a challenge, as when it comes to my work in 3D I am really interested in hyper-realism. But I definitely learnt a lot, especially when it comes to rigging, and I have to say - I admire anyone who chooses to do rigging for a living, as it was great fun when everything worked, but one small mistake can fork up SO MUCH… and good luck finding it ♥ I was definitely driving all the people around me crazy. 

Oh and this is a character from my previous concept art post :)

This is something I have been working on for a while now, for one of my uni projects. You may have noticed some concepts I have posted before, and this is the final (well, almost) 3D version of my little boy who decide to go on an adventure. I still intend to finish some parts of the model, especially the skin and hair, but I really do need a break after this semester at uni :D Anyway, hope you like it!

As I was in a kind of melancholic mood several weeks ago, I wanted to animate some intense acting shot, and thought of this scene from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

That part always brought me litres of tears…

Looking for some chav-style character to use this sound clip on, I thought about this awesome Raph rig made by Joao Sousa,Sebastiao LopesandLuigi Lucarelli.

I don’t know why, I like to see Raph as the “cactus” brother, trying to show a spiky and fierce outside, but being a big sensitive marshmallow inside.

The rig was more oriented toward body mechanics shots, so his facials were a bit limited : I had to make my own additions to give Raph a wider set of expressions.

A little personnal acting exercice using the Jeeves rig from iAnimate.

I just loooove Michael Rooker’s voice and thought it would fit so well this classy cat that is Jeeves. Of course I had to make a little hommage to one of Rooker’s most famous role of those last years, daddy Yondu, through that little figure.

The line comes from the first Guardians of the Galaxymovie.

I don’t know why but I feel like he can’t be trusted…

Hell, Dota’s models are kind of limited but that’s a good exercice to work with them and push them as far as possible.
