yall omg ok on halloween i had my Annual lsoh rewatch but this time i put it in french just for like some variety and idk how but like …. the dub was surprisingly really good ? and it had this weird effect where everyones voices were hyperbolized just like in english but since it was in a different language it sounded better ? kinda like how watching anime in english is kinda awkward but japanese is ok even if it is over the top cause u cant really understand but you’re getting the Feel of the voice acting ?? and it was super cute cause even the songs were in french too !! and the entire time it felt like it was Supposed to be animated and it made me wanna do animatics for it again (but in french :3) also i could REALLY visualize my seymour design having the french dub’s voice ???? it was all just AAAAA i got lsoh hype back in me

Now that the Pop Poke contest is over, here are some “concept art” and unused sketches from the planning process. I went with characters/creatures that I really like and that felt distinctly “me”. I figured I wouldn’t have to worry about other people picking the same characters, but someone did submit a Grievous line so that shows what I know lol.

Enjoy!

Just wrapped up these designs for a Pop Culture Pokémon design/art contest being held by @grimchild. I had a couple different ideas based on characters/movies I enjoy, but ended up going with this evolution line based on Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors (’86).

Designing these Pokémon was super fun and I’m extremely proud of the finished piece! This is my first time drawing in the Ken Sugimori art style, and I think I was able to pull it off fairly convincingly. Hope people enjoy!

Also, if you have not seen the ‘86 Little Shop of Horrors movie before, I highly recommend it. Great songs, amazing practical effects, I think it’s a good time.

I drew some movie monsters I like since I haven’t done anything remotely spooky this Inktober.

I am 2005 King Kong for life. Not about that 100 foot tall bipedal Kong. Plus the Peter Jackson Kong had tons of neat dinosaurs.

“Conrad Ricamora is turning in the murderous ways of Annalise Keating’s classroom for the horror show that is Mushnik’s Flower Shop.

The How to Get Away With Murder star is returning to the stage in January to step into the role of Seymour in the Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors. Ricamora will join the Best Musical Revival Award-winning production beginning Jan. 11. Jordan’s final performance will be Jan. 9.

He joins the current cast, including Tammy Blanchard as Audrey, Christian Borle as Orin Scrivello, D.D.S., and Tom Alan Robbins as Mushnik. The musical follows Seymour, a down-on-his-luck florist with a crush on his co-worker Audrey. When Seymour discovers a mysterious plant with a taste for blood, he thinks he might finally hold the key to getting everything he ever wanted — if he doesn’t lose his life or his soul in the process.

The show features a book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken. This production was directed by Tony winner Michael Mayer.

Ricamora is no stranger to the New York theater scene, having earned two Grammy nominations for the original cast recordings of the Lincoln Center revival of The King and I and The Public Theater production of Soft Power. Also at the Public, Ricamora starred in the award-winning Here Lies Love.”

HAPPY, HAPPY HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN!

HAPPY, HAPPY HALLOWEEN, KANEKO’S CRIB NOTES!

It’s time! It’s time! Time for the BIG GIVEAWAY! HALLOWEEN has come! All you lucky kids with Shin Megami Tensei games, gather ‘round your internet device and WATCH the big HALLOWEEN FOUR. That’s right, FOUR horrific Kaneko Cribs to choose from. They’re fun, they’re frightening, and they GLOW IN THE DARK*! WATCH the MAGIC CRIB. WATCH!

  1. VAMPIRE:Might as well kick things off with a tried-and-true classic! Vampire, as he appears in SMTII, takes quite a few cues from Max Schreck’s legendary portrayal of Count Orlok in the 1922 classic Nosferatu, albeit adding a more exaggerated aspect to the costume and boasting a pose that one might label as “indescribably sassy”. Meanwhile, his original design attempts to capture some of the disconcerting charm of Schreck’s iconic performance.
  2. WEREWOLF:Though he hasn’t seen much action since the heyday of the SNES, this erstwhile lycanthrope, apparently caught mid-transformation, has nevertheless left an indelible mark on the greater compendium. Kaneko’s spin is more The Monster SquadthanThe Wolf Man, ferociously bursting through his jacket but with mind enough to leave his jeans in immaculate condition.
  3. AUDREY:Shin Megami Tensei IIhas a bevy of pop-culture references, but not only that, it makes very littleor no effort to mask their origins (see: the Betelgeuse link below). SMTII’s Audrey is one such obvious pull from the pop culture milieu of the late 80s/early 90s with Little Shop of Horrors’ giant, crooning, perpetually hungry man-eating plant Audrey II.
  4. FRIDAY:This obscure design of chainsaw maniac Friday, from Megami Tensei II, couldn’t be anything but inspired by Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th fame (particularly Part III, where he first dons the hockey mask) and maybe a little Leatherface thrown in for good measure. However, it may also be an oblique reference to the fact that Atlus developed the infamous LJN Friday the 13th NES game released in 1989, a year prior to Megami Tensei II. Truly horrifying!
