Summary: Passive learning can be used to describe when a student receives, transcribes, and minimally internalizes information without some type of reflection or effort to organize, break down, or examine the information to fully understand the material. During active learning, you are directly dealing with your own understanding and perception of the subject, rather than memorizing information given. You are looking for context for the information. The main difference between active and passive learning is the amount of time spent dealing with your mental picture of the information.

Good afternoon, everyone! Here is today’s tip of the day.

I find that a lot of think that if we do something, we have to do it fully. But, that isn’t always the case. I remember when I had trouble meeting my basic needs, I couldn’t brush my teeth. Instead, I tried to just use mouthwash, which was much better than not cleaning my teeth at all.

Good morning, everyone! Here is today’s tip of the day.

Usually, the hardest part of an assignment is getting started. One of the best ways to deal with this is easing your way into the task. Separate it to the smallest tasks and only focus on one task at a time. These will appear much easier than thinking “I need to start writing my essay”.

This reminded me of a little understood phenomenon I like to call the PRODUCTIVITY CRASH. Try explaining to normies how being super productive one day almost guarantees you’ll be massively useless for the next few days…at least.

me: Wow I had a really amazing upbeat busy super productive day yesterday where I stayed awake the whole day with only a reasonable amount of caffeine and solved tons of problems and went to multiple places and got so much done it was awesome!!!

adhd brain: Nice. So you know what THAT means……….

me: Um, that I’m back on track with my life and can do lots more stuff today as well and everything’s gonna get better from here?

adhd brain: *laughs manically, wheezes, coughing fit ensues, sees spots, looses consciousness*

productivity looks different for everyone; you don’t have to complete 3 papers, write an essay and read an entire textbook every day to be productive. do what you feel you need, and don’t compare yourself to others.

13.04.2022—been focusing on one essay all week, taking a bit of time tonight to work on something else to reset my brain✨ hope you all are having a good week

08.04.2022—been quite productive, but definitely feeling more chilled and relaxed at the same time which is nice. good not to be running around everywhere with classes and events and have a break

30.05.2022—some really lovely weather Canberra’s having. probably shouldn’t start complying tho, it’ll b a very long winter otherwise.

at least we had some good sun last week. also finished one course today for the semester, so that’s one down and four to go.

28.05.2022—finally making strong headway with this essay that i’ve been struggling with all week. not long left to go now. although referencing isn’t going to be fun
