#social media
could you IMAGINE if jobs asked to see your tumblr ajsjskksksks the url alone is enough to disqualify half of you hoes let alone your blog descriptions
Put your LinkedIn profile AND ONLY YOUR LINKEDIN PROFILE on your resume and if they ask for social media information refer them to your resume. “Oh I’ve listed my relevant social media pages on my resume”
IF they ask for your twitter, facebook, or Instagram specifically tell them you’re not presently active on any of those accounts. “Currently I’m not an active user of those sites”
Make sure you use pseudonyms on twitter and insta, don’t tag co-workers, and keep your facebook private. Ask your friends not to tag you in their pictures either.
Never discuss work on your social media, never refer to your job by name, never tag your location when your going to/from work, and never ever discuss any difficulties with your job online. Doing so will only ensure you get fired.
For the record, though- if you get consequences at work because of venting over social media, and you belong to a union, TELL THEM. The NLRB had the position that you should not be fired for venting online, and on that note, it’s yet another great reason to push for unionization- freedom of speech online without fear of occupational backlash. Some states also have laws that broaden what you’re allowed to say without fear of termination, so check your state legislature.

Fun fact: lots of applicant tracking systems pull your accounts from your email and phone number.
For the love of god, create a job application email. DO NOT use a personal email, especially not one that has silly words in them.
I also recommend a separate phone number, so they can’t trace your FB account.
THIIIIIIIIIISS
Hey, I wanted to make a post to any friends and followers who are still actually on Tumblr. I wish I had reacted faster to Tumblr’s ban of all nudity but 2018 was rough for me and it took me a while to try to deal with some issues in my life–but I felt like it was important not to rush it or split my focus.
This will probably be lengthy, but I’ll try to keep my rambling to a minimum. I’ve created accounts and played around with several different “Tumblr alternatives”, and I honestly haven’t found any decent replacements that I enjoy using as much as Tumblr–the design of the website, the Livejournal-like design with pre-made layouts as well as being easy to use your own html and tweak things, intuitive posting, wide variety of content you can post, being able to share other artists’ content, how simple it is to interact with fans and like-minded people…etc.
So I decided to try to revive my old site. It’s pretty rough and there’s still a lot I need to figure out/fix. I’m definitely not good at making websites or setting all this stuff up and I am definitely open to suggestions on changes I can make, or other platforms that would be better. I have a Patreon account as well.
My ideas are to offer access to a private blog and a gallery of uncensored nudes that I will update regularly, as well as maybe allowing these members or patrons access to my private IG account where I just post wholesome things like food and sunsets–if people are interested in that. I also intend to sell full photosets separately if people want digital copies. I have also played around with the idea of trying to write short erotica stories and selling those if people have any interest in that.
There are only a few people who know who I am and know about this blog, so I guess I wanted to find out if this is something people are interested in before sharing links to my website or social media. I’d really appreciate feedback on if people are interested in any of this and what they’re interested/what they would like to see. Of course there would still be free content, like my fb page, my main blog and I would like to start streaming on my twitch account.
I think my 3 biggest concerns at the moment are:
1. Making sure if people are donating or spending any amount of money to help support me that they are actually getting content and they feel it’s worth it.
2. But also, making enough money to actually make all of this possible.
3. Streamlining things as much as possible so that people aren’t confused about anything and I am not overwhelmed by trying to manage too many things all at once.
Please, if you were patient enough to read all that–I would love some feedback. Let me know if you’re interested or have suggestions/questions. :)
Social Media Update
I’m back to using some of my other social media, just wanting to give all of you a heads up. Currently I’m only using Kik and Discord, and they are not constant but it’s enough for anybody looking to causally chat or get to know more about me. I’ll put my usernames at the bottom to both, don’t be afraid to message me!

If you thought rich people controlling your news meant you couldn’t trust the corporate news, you never would have trusted the corporate news.
There’s something about the way social media… Flattens or obscures regional/geocultural differences between people in a way that is very unhelpful and like. The opposite of what dedicated pen pal programs tried to do in the 20thc that I think really contributes to the meanness and high-handedness people take with each other. Like some things SHOULD land different if you are hearing them from like. Someone living in rural Oklahoma vs your housemate in Chicago, y'know? Someone from like. Bulgaria saying they don’t trust communism SHOULD sound different than the person you’re at a party with in Manchester. Someone saying all US politicians are the same to them who lives in Somalia SHOULD feel different than some white anarchist trust funder in Seattle. But instead everything gets read as if someone very very like you is saying it and saying it To You and like… Yeah that would be annoying if that was what was happening but its not and I feel like we are encouraged to not see that idk
Before we name our roles, let’s be frank: everyone working with YVUK is a volunteer. Everyone. We’re a tiny outfit with one inglorious aim: to help young voters understand the murky world of British politics.
At the moment, we operate from two laptops in the home counties in the hours we can spare when we’re not at our day jobs or handling the responsibilities of life.
So these roles won’t offer any compensation beyond the satisfaction of building something hopefully momentous. In the last 3 weeks of the election, we reached over 10,000 people on Twitter and currently average 60-100 interactions per post on Tumblr. This all in our first month of operation.
If that’s enough for you, welcome aboard!
We’re looking for:
- Content writers
- Social media team
- YouTube team
- Graphic designers
- Awareness volunteers (hanging posters, dropping leaflets etc)
If you’re even the slightest bit interested in any of the roles mentioned here, or if you think you can contribute in some other way, please email [email protected] for more details. You can also leave a message in our Ask Box here.
