“Deidre”

With MerMay coming to an end i find myself with more sketches then finished paintings. I’m looking forward to continue the mermaid theme in June.

“don’t tell me”

Past relationships can be haunting and comforting at the same time…

Available as print and merch in my PoD shops

They’ve been unavailable for the last month but I’m happy to tell you my signed art prints are back in stock! You can find these art prints and postcards, enamel pins and other products with my illustrations in my Etsy shop.

It’s may again and like last year I plan to share some new merfolk paintings. To start this #mermay I’m sharing some of my past paintings in honor of this month.

I’m looking forward to a month with my feed filled with mermaids!

My entry for papilionism draw this in your style challenge on Instagram . I love her work if you don’t know her work yet be sure to check it out. She’s currently running a Kickstarter for her art book, so worth it!

Here are some rough witcher sketches. I’ve only played the first game, love the TV series and still planning on reading the books.

I rarely draw man I find it funny that even my drawing style is more angular in these studies

“Lucy”

I’ve been reading a lot of horror stories lately and wanted the depict the ferocious nature of a vampire combined with it’s mesmerizing beauty.

Still experimenting with mixed media, watercolur, markers, pencils and acrylics

“Five of daggers”

Back to experimenting with some traditional media

I love the illustrations that come with tarot cards. I know the five of daggers doesn’t exist, just inspired by ;)

“surfaced"⠀

I don’t know why I have this fascination with waterlilies, they just keep coming back in my work.⠀

This is one of my illustrations you can find in Siren Song 2. You can find this zine now in my etsy shop.

I’m in the mood to experiment a bit with traditional paint instead of my trusted digital painting method. This is a partial sketch for a painting I’m planning. I feel I do way more prepping for my traditional work, which makes the actual painting go faster. ⠀

Valentine is coming up be sure to spend time with those you love.⠀

This work is available as print and merch in my PoD shops

Working on my new painting “Apple seed hunt”. I’ve been adding a lot more detail then initially planned. This is causing me to work much longer on a painting then originally planned…⠀

Sharing some of my quick 30 minute animal studies again. hope you enjoy these bear sketches.⠀

WIP close up of my new painting called “bedtime tales”. Still figuring out how much to polish her face. By adding detail there’s always something lost and gained, it’s a difficult balance.⠀

Will o’ wisp

These blueish glowing creatures are often seen in swamps and graveyards. They are said to be lost souls guiding travelers further into the swamp where they often drown.

Looking back at my favorite paintings from 2021 it was a good year where I got to experiment a lot with different styles. Looking forward to more experimentation.⠀

Derya is one of my favorite paintings I did this year. I love seeing it come together. Her personality was quite different in the sketch compared to the end result.

Enjoy this speedpaint
