LIVE

Okay I don’t know where else to say this or post this but I have TWO songs that I very specifically headcanon to be Vi’s and Jinx’s songs and I’m gonna scream about them.

First, we’ve got First Love/Late Spring by Mitski, and this is Vi’s POV on her relationship with Caitlyn. Please.

The black hole

Of the

Window

Where you sleep

The night breeze

Carries

Something sweet

A peach tree

Wild women don’t get the blues

But I find that

Lately I’ve been crying like a

Tall child

So please hurry leave me

I can’t breathe

Please don’t say you love me

胸がはち切れそうで (my heart is about to burst)

One word from you and I would

Jump off of this

Ledge I’m on

Baby

Tell me “don’t”

So I can

Crawl back in

And I was so young

When I behaved

Twenty five

Yet now I find

I’ve grown into

A tall child

And I don’t wanna go home yet

Let me walk to the top of the big night sky

All of it is perfectly Vi. The “Wild women don’t get the blues; but lately I’ve been crying like a; Tall child,” & “ I was so young; When I behaved; Twenty five; Yet now I find; I’ve grown into; A tall child,” lines hit perfectly because she’s stuck. She’s been the responsible adult her whole life, she’s taken care of Powder and the rest, she’s taken the fall for them, she’s been made to act mature but deep inside she never got the chance to grow into herself. She’s incredibly good at being a stone wall but the second her feelings are involved, her instinct is to push them away and run. Thus the “So please hurry leave me; I can’t breathe; Please don’t say you love me,” lines, directed at Caitlyn, make perfect sense. That’s where the whole oil and water analogy comes in. She’s trying her hardest to push her away because the emotions are too much for her to deal with.

Now onto Jinx’s song - Black Out Days by Phantogram.

Hide the sun

I will leave your face out of my mind

You should save your eyes

A thousand voices howling in my head

Speak in tongues

I don’t even recognize your face

Mirror on the wall

Tell me all the ways to stay away, away, away

And stay away, away, away

Dig a hole

Fireworks exploding in my hands

If I could paint the sky

Well all the stars would shine a bloody red

Stay away, away, away

And stay away, away, away

And stay away (I’m hearing voices all the time up in my mind)

(I’m hearing voices and they’re haunting my mind)

And stay away (I’m hearing voices all the time in my mind)

(I’m hearing voices and they’re haunting my mind)

Black out days

I don’t recognize you anymore

Do I really need to explain this one? It’s absolutely Jinx. From voices in her head, to not recognizing herself in the mirror/dealing with dual identities (between Jinx, who helps her deal with trauma through fully shutting it out being being cray cray, and Powder, who’s a soft, gentle child that really needs protection and love). And then uh… literally “Fireworks exploding in my hands,” which uh.. Jinx’s explosives. Which uh.. as a local Jinx x Ekko shipper, ahem-

And we know she’s good with fireworks, too. She can quite literally “paint the sky”.

if you’re a moot i love you and thank you for either being as horny as i am or for putting up with my horniness

Dig a Little Deeper from Princess and the Frog, but Tiana is Entrapta and Naveen is Hordak

holy shit @william-snekspeare reblogged one of my noodles

i’m having such a “snekpai senpai noticed me” moment here

I’m at this part of growing up where life really shows it’s unpredictability. It has gave me so many obstacles to face and I’m genuinely having a rough time. It’s effecting me in every way possible. Take this time to help those you love that are going through a rough time. They may feel so alone and that no one understands them but there’s always someone who gets it. I’m trying my hardest to stay strong and i hope you are too.

All the reasons why I should have gotten a chastity belt for Christmas, and why I think you should get me one next Christmas:

  • I have no self control (as illustrated by my pre-Christmas dinner orgasm)
  • I’m much more attentive when kept in denial
  • You can be sure I will never play with your things without permission
  • I am a better sub when driven to serve through desperation
  • My pleasure is better when it’s controlled by you
  • My whining is very cute - I think you’ll enjoy it
  • You can keep my plug locked in place
  • We can go on dates, and my pretty pussy will locked away in secret
  • There will never be a doubt: yours.

Jesus helped the poor and exploited. He did not stand by and watch others abuse them without saying a word just to spare the oppressors’ feelings.

Things that are Very Gender for Techno to wear

slow show by the national is such a mcwexler anthem i can’t even. literally a song about a pathetic man who feels uncomfortable in his own skin and being surrounded by other people and just wants to come back home to the love of his life and make them laugh with some embarrassing joke so he can feel appreciated (but is also scared he might be wrong for them)

also there’s that outro taken from a previous song of theirs ’you know i dreamed about you for 29 years before i saw you, you know i dreamed about you, i missed you for, for 29 years’ and if this isn’t mcwexler culture at its finest i don’t know what is

countdown-til-sanders-take-over:

Me, with absolutely no context,

Sheep over sleep

however, consider:

sheep/sleep cancels out

how?

an associated equation is sheep not sleep, which can be amounted to sheep > sleep

but sheep do sleep!! so sheep = sleep

so it’s not sheep > sleep, sheep and sleep are the same thing, so it’s sleep = sleep

and with substitution, sheep/sleep = sleep/sleep

what is sleep/sleep? 1/1.

which means that you must get 1 full night of sleep for every night.

A Treatise on Felix Hugo Fraldarius

Every day. EVERY DAY I’m thinking about the genius move in Azure Moon’s writing to have FELIX be the only one to warn Byleth about Dimitri’s darkside.

It’s genius because of its tragic futility. Felix is the absolute worst person out of the Blue Lions to reveal this knowledge, however, not because we won’t believe him. Except for perhaps about his feelings (textbook tsundere), Felix doesn’t lie—the game establishes straight out of the gate that he is a very blunt person. No, it’s not because we can’t believe him, it’s because both we the player and Byleth the character don’t want to believe him.

We the player are witness to Felix’s interactions with his fellow classmates, and with little insight into his backstory, his early supports paint him as an abrasive, unfeeling jerk who hates his dad and his friends and cares about nothing but fighting and…well, fighting. As most of the barbs and accusations we see him throwing at his friends are for the most part untrue (though he certainly himself believes them, so he’s not lying), we have no reason or desire to believe Felix’s claims about Dimitri.

The same goes for Byleth. The game establishes in White Clouds that she grows more attached to her students than she has to anyone before—in fact, by the end of the game, the implication is that they essentially restore her humanity to her, or even create it in her where it hadn’t existed before. If this is the case, and Byleth is learning from her students how to feel emotions, then why would she want to believe someone who not only tears her students down, but actively represents the philosophy she is trying to escape?

Furthermore, Byleth’s relationship with Dimitri is undoubtedly different from hers with anyone else in the monastery, even from the beginning. While the other students undoubtedly support her, Dimitri is one of the only ones to ask how she is doing as a professor. He’s always offering his assistance and support, canonically is the first to bring out her emotional side, and is the only one of the few to truly empathize with her after Jeralt’s death, even going so far as to offer his assistance in securing her revenge. As he is arguably the person she is closest to in this route, even from the beginning, why would she want to believe he is a soulless monster driven by nothing but bloodlust?

However, here’s the kicker—while Felix is the one she is least likely to believe due to her emotions, he’s the person she’s most likely to believe logically. As I briefly mentioned earlier, out of all the students, Felix most closely resembles the mercenary’s philosophy (no, not you, Leonie). He represents what Byleth used to be (this is kinda the reason I don’t ship Felileth, but that’s another story for another day). Felix even essentially says as much in their supports—much of those supports have a heavy emphasis on establishing their similarities.

Byleth tells Rodrigue mid-White Clouds that she understands Felix. She may not resemble him, or act like him, but she understands him, because she was him, once. She understands his logic, his reasoning—why he comes to the conclusions that he does. Logically, she shouldknow that if Felix is calling Dimitri a boar, it wouldn’t be based on something petty like childish jealousy.

But she doesn’t. She refuses to consider it—she shoves it down and makes excuses. Throughout White Clouds, for the first time in her life, Byleth is caught in a war between her head and her heart—her heart, newly beating, desperately wanting to cling to this strange sense of care and family that she’s never truly felt before, and her head, the voice of the mercenary, the voice of Felix telling her to stop being so blind, tolook up and see the evidence around her.

But that’s the tragedy of Felix, the true Cassandra of Three Houses. He knows the truth, but because he’s so bitter and jaded he can’t communicate, he will never be believed—and the one person who shouldbelieve him refuses.

some differences i noticed between certain scenes. i’m not going to go over the differences between when something happened, because ultimately it would be redundant, and also because i think it’s more interesting to look at the differences between what happened. mainly, this will be about things that happened in the manga that didn’t happen in the anime. long post under the cut. ofc, spoilers.

season 1, ep. 8 (Ch. 17), the helicopter scene

it essentially plays out the same way. in the manga, there’s this small extra scene between sayaka and “ririka”, in which you get to see more of sad sayaka, being ignored by both the president and VP (poor sayaka).

image

@kakeguruibeyond already made an analysis about what happened, specifically about the twin switching, along with what happens later in ch. 36 (season 2, ep. 2).

https://kakeguruibeyond.tumblr.com/post/185900564323/can-i-ask-you-a-question-regarding-kakegurui-ch

in the anime, because rei exists, they changed the meeting between terano and actual kirari to be about bringing rei in the election. in the manga, since rei doesn’t exist, their meeting re-inforces the fact that yes, kirari and ririka switch places, and also lets the audience know that yes, terano, and most likely the whole family, at least knows about this trick. but terano is able to discern the difference between kirari and ririka at a glance. we don’t know (yet) if any of the other family members can do that. i can’t wait to see what this will mean in the future.

but maybe i’m getting ahead of myself. let’s go back and go over some differences in season one. Ep. 6, after the debt-resettlement gamble, there was  a small extra scene between mary and yumeko, which i’ll just leave here:

image

kind of sad this yumary scene wasn’t animated

another difference was when kirari attempted to recruit mary, season 1 ep. 7 (ch. 16) . essentially,it played out similarly, but in the manga, when mary asks about the housepet system, instead of bringing up the aquarium, she explains her motivations in a bit more depth using a different example:

image
image
image
image
image

like i get why they wanted to use the aquarium metaphor in the anime during this scene, because that’s a recurring theme, but here we have the originfor the aquarium spiel. it’s not just about making the big fish eat the smaller fish because it’s interesting, it’s about powerand how kirari is maintaining and preserving that power. this scene in the manga just adds more depth to kirari’s motivations beyond her doing things just because it’s “interesting”.

now, let’s talk about this scene, season 1 ep. 11 (Ch. 26), when kirari reveals herself during the yumeko/manyuda gamble.

image

previously, during the helicopter scene, we’ve seen sayaka already having doubts about the president not trusting her. this thought has been embedded into her ever since kirari left without telling her anything, and now, she is sure.kirarinot saying anything to sayaka as ririka, solidifies that fact in sayaka’s head. in the anime, she says something completely different that lessens the impact of sayaka’s internal struggle: “How long has she been in our midst?” which is a lot different from what she’s thinking here. i guess you can infer in the anime that sayaka is having doubts, but in the manga it’s crystal clear that she is freaking out and not okay about the whole situation.

another big difference was the build up to the ending of season 1, right after the yumeko/manyuda gamble. the main difference is, in order for the yumeko/kirari gamble to happen in the anime, sayaka had to be more passive and not have that emotional/mental ourburst that led to Tower of Doors in the manga, which was already being set up by the previous helicopter scene and the realization that the president doesn’t trust her:

image
image

unfortunately, this also means we miss out on some more of sayaka’s dialogue in the manga that made her a more interesting and relatable character (imo, anyway). more on that later.

next, in the same scene, there was an exchange between yumeko and kirari that didn’t make it in the anime. @castleoflions  already made a post about that.

https://castleoflions.tumblr.com/post/612058563484008448/i-really-wish-they-had-kept-this-exchange-in-the

there’s also another exchange that didn’t happen in the anime where kirari brings up the aquarium again, when sayaka asks why they can’t just expel/make people stop gambling with yumeko:

image
image

which leads to sayaka freaking out even more about not understanding the exchange between yumeko and kirari, and wanting more answers:

image
image
image
image

ow. again, poor sayaka, being refused an answer again from the president, not being trusted by the president. which leads to… more sad sayaka, when sayaka initiates the gamble with yumeko and what each person would bet was being discussed:

image
image
image

oof. i wish the anime kept these scenes with sayaka, it just gives us more insight into what’s going on inside her head besides the angry/jealous, obsessive, tit-grabbing (lol) secretary. sayaka was hurtby kirari, (multiple times! with no explanation!) and wants answers, and when she stilldoesn’t get them, she breaks. which leads to the all-or-nothing gamble with yumeko at the tower of doors. it makes more sense to me than the slow buildup between two seasons in the anime, but i get that they wanted to add in an original scene (the yumeko/kirari gamble) and therefore a lot of sayaka’s internal struggle had to be dampened and spread out over another season. what do y’all think?

that’s it for season 1 ish. (Ch. 1-29). i think i’ll make a separate post for (more) season 2 stuff, since this is long AF

as a person who makes trash  gifs, i’ve come to appreciate animation, and wanted to share why i love bruno bucciarati’s animations so much. long post with lots of bruno gifs. ofc, spoilers

let’s look at the very first episode. pay attention to his eyes:

image
image
image
image
image

look at how ANIMATED his eyes are. any animator could’ve just made his eyes/face static while having only his mouth move, but they BOTHERED to make bruno’s eyes (and JAW!) animated. it might not seem like much, but it makes him so much more INTERESTING to look at. almost like, you can’t take your eyes off of him, or you’ll miss something.

and then THIS part, after he punches giorno the first time and puts luca’s fingers in his mouth:

image

BUT if you pause it, right before he says the line, there’s this single, subtle, frame:

image

make of that what you will, but to me, it’s almost as if he’s both disgusted and concerned (for giorno) by what just happened before he puts on his “gangstar” facade again. like, there’s a reason this frame exists, they bothered to put it there, what do you all think?

here’s some more eye things:

i slowed this one down so you could see all the frames that were used. SO animated. and it’s not just his eyes, sometimes his HEAD moves. they DID that.

image
image
image
image

even in combat/dangerous situations, or maybe especially in combat/dangerous situations, his eyes move. he’s always observing his surroundings, planning the next move in his head. i don’t think ANY of the other characters have this quirk (but correct me if i’m wrong maybe i’m just hyper-attentive to bruno because he’s my favorite):

image
image
image
image
image
image

even when he’s DRIVING???? his eyes are animated, for a split second.

image

even as diavolo??????? his eyes????? are so animated?????

image

EVEN HIS EYE SPARKLES ARE ANIMATED AS DIAVOLO?????

image
image
image

and this is BRILLIANT because this is like, bruno’s THING. that’s how you can tell bruno’s in there, even if his body is different, because even before the soul switching, his eyes had that sparkle (examples below) or was animated in some way (examples above):

image
image
image
image
image
image
image
image
image
image

they could’ve gone the lazy route and made bruno very static, but they MADE bruno such a better/deeper/more interesting character just by adding these subtle things. he’s responsive to things, and you can seeit, even if he doesn’t say or do anything, he’s definitely thinking about and processing it, which informs his actions. that’s also what makes him a good leader: he thinks first, then acts (unless something defies his moral values).

so there ya go. want to make an anime character more interesting without taking up too much time? ANIMATE their FACE and move the story along instead of dumping a 10 min. internal dialogue about how a character is feeling

Sexy time headcanons

It’s 4am in the morning and I’m just lying here thinking about how Ximena or Sienna or Briar or Madeleine or even goddang Xanthe would ram MC/how MC would ram them because honestly my thirst for non-LI characters will forever be unquenchable.

Ximena? Unbelievably soft top. 10/10 would continuously and accidentally turn MC on by being her tol and physically affectionate self. Is all about encouraging and praising MC in bed and treating her like something precious and valuable.

Sienna? A firecracker in bed. Not a hint of shyness to her when she gets going, likes to be playful and absolutely will turn the tables and climb MC like a tree when she feels like it. Cute as a button, but surprisingly assertive.

Briar? Not a shy or hesitant person by nature, but MC is her best friend and she does not know how to handle that?? After years of never even giving it a second thought, it takes her a bit to thaw, but when she does, it’s all fun and comfortable and she easily takes the lead - at least until MC feels confident enough to top her (Briar loves it)

Madeleine? Probably just gets really drunk at some state event and realizes that she really likes the thought of MC addressing her as queen. MC is a dumbass and living her best thot live and probably indulges her for fun. Madeleine thinks she’s topping but really, MC holds all the cards and knows exactly what she’s doing.

Xanthe? In an ideal world where PB wrote her as a three-dimensional character with actual human emotions, I could see her actually being good at her job. MC does not expect this petty-ass bitch to have actual skills, but turns out Xanthe can back up her wild claims. If it came to it, Xanthe would love lording her power over MC. There is no money or expensive gifts to be gained, but she’d absolutely try to humiliate and subdue MC with sex - then proceed to fail horribly because MC will fuck the living daylights out of her. RIP Xanthe’s petty bitch ass.
