i think its cool how all the creators in the haikyuu!! fandom have their specialties. i know oiks and iwa like the back of my hand, but if somebody asked me to write kenma or daishou or even hinata i’d have to do 10 years of research to even come close to portraying them correctly. anyway tag this with ur hq!! specialty

TW: Depression and mentions of death
Ushijima is district one, he’s never given much thought to anything but the games, and he’s a favorite to win. It’s all he’s ever known, and it’s really just sad, because he’s actually a really nice, simple guy.
But the other district one tribute is equally as sad but twice as eager. Goshiki volunteers wayyyyy too young and waay too impulsively. He’s a slave to his own courage and desire to prove himself, and he knows his eagerness has killed him the moment he leaves for the capitol with Ushijima.
Bokuto is district two, he volunteers too, because winning means everything and right now he’s got nothing to lose. Wouldn’t it suck if he fell in love with someone during the games…hmmmm
Daichi is reaped , despite being from two he did not volunteer for this, nor would he wish it on his worst enemy. He knows he will die but he’s going to try anyway, he’s only looking out for himself, until he meets his mentor. A damaged, beautifully kind boy with silver hair.
Tsukki is from three, he doesn’t cry when they call his name, he squares his shoulders and drops Yamaguchi’s hand, certain that will be the last time he ever holds it
That is until they call Yachi’s name next and the anxiety riddled Yamaguchi screams until he is beside Tsukki, dying in Yachi’s place. Tsukki cries then. At least they will die together.
Flashy Oikawa Tooru is reminiscent of Finnick Odair, beautiful, young, and charming. But he’s not just pretty, oh no boys, he’s also lethal. Everything was perfect, he volunteered right away, the first tribute for district Four. Then they pulled Takeru’s name next.
The twelve year old stuck his little chin up, standing beside his uncle, pale as if he might faint, and all hopes of winning left Oikawa, now all he could hope for was Takeru, he would have to protect Takeru because it was too late to volunteer for him
People think a twelve year old has been reaped from five when sixteen year old Nishinoya is called, but it becomes clear by the litany of swear words the boy hisses on his way to the stage that he is no child.
A child comes after him though, Kageyama is only fourteen, all sad eyes and pretty skin. He’s a favorite the moment he takes his place next to Noya. He’s lost his whole family to the games, and instead of planning to win like the rest of them, he simply wants to take his place beside them, until a certain orange monster gets in his way.
It’s silent when they call Kenma’s name in district six, until he locks eyes with Kuroo in who is sitting in the previous victor’s section, that’s when Kuroo starts to scream, panic filling his lungs as his best friend is doomed to a fate he had just barely survived. He knew Kenma wouldn’t make it, and Kenma knew it too.
No one in six screamed when Yahaba was called next, he didn’t expect anything anyway.
In district seven, Hinata refused to cry, despite everyone’s pitying looks. He would prove them all wrong, and if not he’s going to die in a way that brings honor to his family, in a way that Natsu can be proud of. He just needs to find a worthy ally…someone he could die or even survive with for a while at least.
Fresh from his work in the woods, barely old enough to be working in the first place, Lev is chosen and it’s really sad because he had so much potential in district seven…oh well guess there wouldn’t be a victor in seven this year
Tanaka is pulled from Saeko’s arms and thrust onto the stage in district eight, all while she continues to sob for her brother. It’s all terribly unfair but Tanaka promises to do whatever he can to win
Beside Tanaka stands Ennoshita, a shaking boy unaware of his own strength Tanaka has barely spoken to, but will begin to know much more…intimately soon. After all, they’re going to die together
In nine, kunimi looks sleepily at the crowd, he didn’t know the apathy that had followed him all his life would also follow him into the games
Yaku tries to put on a brave face under the harsh glare of the capitol lights, but his tears fall too freely for his own liking, he knew the second his name was called that he was going to die.
Ten is mournful as Atsumu and Osamu stand side by side, their days now numbered much to the sorrow of their family
District Eleven sees Hanamaki sobbing as Mattsukawa makes his way toward the stage, no one blinks, it’s just another relationship torn apart by the games
Mattsukawa ruffles Kindaichi’s hair as the boy cries, fear evident in every feature of his young face. At least he’d have someone to hold his hands when things got scary
Twelve is exactly how it’s always been, Iwaizumi has put his name in the bowl so many times that he only sighs and clenches his teeth as he makes his way to the stage. At least he would get a break from the constant state of hunger that came with living in twelve.
No one is even sad to see Kyoutani go, except ironically, Iwaizumi. Iwaizumi taught Kyoutani how to survive, it was a heartbreaking shame to see the closest thing he had to a legacy die beside him.
Capitol People
Satori hosts the interviews, but he’s mischievous, tricky, you can’t really tell what side he’s on for sure. But you can tell he has a favorite tribute, buff and handsome Ushijima can’t resist Satori
Asahi is a fashion designer who falls in love with his tribute, Yuu, he gets caught and punished for it, it’s very tragic
Akaashi is the head game maker. He’s so logical that you could almost miss the insanity in him. Almost. He has chosen who the victor will be, Bokuto.
Ukai is sort of like Haymitch
Takeda is reminiscent of Effie
Kiyoko is a past victor from eight, now the Capitol’s golden girl
Haikyuu ships in Quarantine because I am OBsEssEd! These are my main ships, sorry if they don’t vibe with yall.
Kagehina: Fighting one moment, violently making out the next. Tried to play volleyball in the house because they don’t understand that stay at home doesn’t mean you can’t go outside at all. They broke everything. Kageyama’s new hobby is playing with Hinata’s hair while they watch old volleyball games.
Tsukkiyama: Ah! These two are soft! Tsukki and Yams cuddle so much! It’s a lot of soft music, low lights, and books. They’re a lot smarter than Hinata and Kageyama and they go for walks and practice in the mornings. Yams cooks a lot, and Tsukki puts little braids in his hair while they watch movies and talk about their lives.
Asanoya: why??? is noya???? the calm one now??!?! Asahi is losing his mind, the anxiety of watching the whole world go to pieces has him in a constant state of terror. Noya bans the news, he distracts Asahi with kisses and arts and crafts and other stuff
Daisuga: Suga goes full crackhead! “No responsibility, let’s dye my hair and eat our weight in ice cream! Daichi, I miss our kouhai!” Daichi keeps Suga’s impulses under control for the most part, but he does help Suga color his hair a dusky pink, and winds up LOVING it and Suga even more.
IwaiOi: “Iwachan~lets watch conspiracies!” Oikawa is soft, his hair is damp and he smells like his lavender body wash, Iwaizumi will never say it out loud, but this is his favorite Tooru. In the end, he doesn’t need to say it, Oikawa knows it when Iwaizumi pulls him into his lap as Oiks hits play on a Shane Dawson video.
Kuroken: they literally play video games for the first week until kenma of all people finally calls it off and after a trip to the store kuroo is helping kenma rebleach his hair, he likes washing Kenma’s hair too much, almost as much as kenma likes him washing his hair
Bokuaka: Bokuto learns how to knit, Akaashi is slightly embarrassed but he wears the terrible hole infested socks and barely together sweaters his boyfriend worked so hard on anyway. He himself passes the time by actually doing his homework unlike almost everybody else.
Kyoutani/Yahaba: Their whole quarantine is NSFW with brief intermissions to hydrate and eat. Oikawa once had to hang up a video call and try to forget the trauma of what he had seen. Also Yahaba has not stopped bumping Lana Del Rey’s entire discography since all of this started, that and a copious amount of wine and kyoutani calm his nerves.
LevYaku: this is cute, yaku just spends the whole time rubbing his giant russian’s back and watching Tiger King, Lev sleeps with his head in Yaku’s lap and learns how to bake until he almost burns down the house and then yaku takes over.
Ukatake: these two aren’t together yet but they will be by the end of this quarantine. Takeda moves in with ukai for the quarantine when Ukai mentions that he has nothing but beer, microwaveable corndogs, and cigarettes in his house. Takeda buys good food and Ukai falls in love with soft Takeda while they get beer drunk for two weeks straight.
This is probably stupid but like cupid!sugawara has my whole heart. It’s probably just the quarantine talking but I was watching the music video for “Give Me Love” by Ed Sheeran and there isn’t enough DaiSuga angst in this world. So here’s another dumpster fire based on that iconic video.
Suga is super lonely, okay? No one knows how he came to exist or why, and despite looking like a literal angel and acting like one too, no one ever seems to remember his face or him
He has only ever had himself, and though he seems strong it’s breaking him, slowly.
But Suga is so special because he’s always been one of those people who still wants the best for everyone around them, even when they don’t deserve it. Even though he is so lonely, he still loves helping people find the one thing he can’t have: love.
That’s why fate gave him his wings, the itching in his shoulders that resulted in blood stained ethereal wings was a gift, of sorts
He doesn’t know why or how he got the arrows or the wings but he wanders the streets nonetheless, and that’s when he sees them
Kageyama and Hinata are college roommates, they’re screaming at each other over some girl, Suga subconsciously knows neither of those boys belong with that girl they’re arguing about, so he notches an arrow for the first time and fires it into Kageyama’s back
He smiles when Kageyama picks up his tiny counterpart, ending their argument and starting their lives with a kiss
He frowns at the slight pinch of sorrow he feels
The next time he fires it’s at a famous model and his photographer, Oikawa has always been oblivious and Iwaizumi has always been stubborn
Frankly, Suga is exhausted just watching them dance around each other for a night, so he decides to put them both out of their misery, and laughs mischievously when Oikawa knocks the camera from Iwaizumi’s grasp as he jumps in his lap
He can’t help but notice that the sorrow is growing in him
One night he wanders into a party, dimly lit and unsurprisingly full of lost souls, the pain his empathetic heart feels is enough to make him forget the consequences of what he’s about to do
He shoots Lev in the back and watches the giant wrap his elegant limbs around Yaku
Kenma is next, throwing aside his phone and pulling Kuroo down to his level so he can kiss him
Akaashi and Bokuto fall prey to his arrow as well, even though Akaashi was previously unaware of his feelings
Yamaguchi finally works up the courage to kiss Tsukki rather violently with the aid of one of Suga’s arrows
Only after he has done his damage and he’s quietly walking home does he realize his mistake
His face is wet with tears and he’s clearly completely destroyed his heart to fix everyone else’s
In the dim light of his apartment, he looks at his arrow, strong, and sharp. He has an idea
Daichi has been an EMT for three years now, you can see a lot in that time, and he definetly had, but nothing like the beautiful angel boy in front of him
He nearly cried the moment his eyes landed on the prone being, blood and gold surrounding his once beautiful face, an arrow sticking almost daintily from his thin chest
His tears didn’t have a chance to fall, though, because the boy moved
Suga knew the moment his eyes focused on Daichi’s, that he had finally found the one person who wouldn’t forget him.
Okay so like Demigod!Haikyuu crossover is blowing my mind rn. So here is this dumpster fire
Hinata is an ADORABLE child of Apollo, and he still loves Volleyball but he’s naturally really good at archery too! Definetly in love with Kageyama
Kageyama looks like he’d be powerful, everyone assumes he’d be a child of Zeus, Posiedon, or Hades, but he always enjoys the look of fear in their eyes when he robs the world of light, as only a child of Nyx (goddess of the night) could, smitten with sunshine aka Hinata
Tsukki is a son of Athena, which really didn’t shock anyone,especially not Tsukki, though he does take issue with some of his more “unexpected” siblings, whipped for Yama and formulated a business regarding a certain illicit plant
Yamaguchi can nurture and grow things so naturally that he is claimed as a child of Demeter almost instantaneously (he definetly doesn’t grow any illegal plants with his powers) he and Tsukki have a lot of money, no one knows why
Tanaka is a son of Aries in the most stereotypical sense and he’s found his people
Noya loves his half brother, Tanaka, but he still absolutely destroys him in sword play, the two sons of aries are impossible on the battle field, thinks Asahi is a damsel in distress
Enoshita is a son of Hestia, goddess of the home and hearth, because he is steady and grounded in a way that many envy
Asahi is a son of Iris, the goddess of rainbows, because not only is he precious but he’s also inherited his mother’s eye for color, not as big on battle, Noya thinks this is adorable
Sugawara is the head of the Aphrodite cabin, and probably the most likeable member, also probably one of the most dangerous, has a thing for sons of aries (like his mom), mainly just one son of aries
Daichi struggles to keep his brothers in check, but no other child of aries is up for the job so as the most level headed kid in that whole cabin, Daichi steps up, when he’s not playing dad to his siblings, he’s trying to impress a particularly mischievous son of Aphrodite
Kiyoko is a huntress of Artemis
Yachi is a very helpful nymph
Oikawa is Suga’s brother and the self proclaimed “hottest son of aphrodite” he likes to act like he is a ladies man but everyone knows he has eyes for one son of Aries
Bless Iwaizumi son of aries, and the only person next to Daichi who can keep the other unruly aries children in line, says he hates oikawa but was caught in the aphrodite cabin with him, many,many times
Kyoutani is a son of hades. No one is surprised. He hates everyone. Except Yahaba. Yahaba is okay.
Yahaba is a particularly aggressive child of aphrodite who definetly does not want to marry a certain son of hades (suga and oikawa tease him all the time)
It’s Kuroo he’s the unexpected child of Athena, and everyone is confused, but these things dont always make sense and Tsukki has to have something go wrong
Kenma is a very quick witted child of Hermes who is definetly in on Tsukki and Yama’s…scheme
Akaashi keeps the peace in the Athena cabin, and spends a considerable amount of time with a certain son of Hermes
Bokuto is a reluctant son of Hermes, who uses most of his brain power hitting on Akaashi
Ushijima is the son of Demeter, and knows absolutely nothing about his younger brother’s illicit plants or his boyfriend’s (tendou) inate proclivity for maddness
Tendou is the freakiest son of Dionysus ever, he positively reeks of madness and Ushijima
Fourteen year old Tsukishima Akiteru looks up from his manga just in time to see a small, green haired kid launch themselves at him. He laughs as Yamaguchi Tadashi wraps his arms tightly around his waist, draping his own arms around the small boy’s shoulders.
“Hi Tadashi-kun,” Akiteru says. He glances over at his own brother, standing a few metres away and refusing to look at them. “Hi Kei.”
“Hi,” Kei replies in his usual monotone. Sometimes Akiteru wonders how his little brother is such a grumpy old man when he’s only eight years old. He won’t even hug Akiteru in public anymore, because he thinks only babies show affection to their wonderful big brothers.
At least Akiteru has Tadashi now. Tadashi’s never short on brotherly affection.
