So I found this absolute banger in my YouTube recommendations, “ as the world caves in” by Matt Maltese, and since this is my life for now, I thought it would be kinda cool to write some angsty Nuclear Apocalypse!Haikyu headcanons for the ships. So this time I present fresh, spicy, radioactive trash.
Imagine they’re just in school, all of the boys are just going about their days when the notification hits, this life will mean nothing in about eight minutes.
Daichi and Suga
Daichi is the one who cries surprisingly. Panicked, hot tears as he looks frantically through the crowded halls, when they find each other, Suga merely gives him a watery smile, the acceptance in his eyes making Daichi sob harder. They go to the club room, because they know they won’t have time to make it home, and there they lay, wrapped around each other, as Suga traces patterns on Daichi’s back
Asahi and Noya
Noya’s first thought is actually of Asahi, he’s up and out of his seat before anyone else even thinks to move, he finds Asahi in the closet where they fought that one time, and he can honestly say he doesn’t mind dying if it means he can catch Asahi’s glass heart one last time. So he’s shocked when Asahi catches his too, when the older boy reaches his warm hand up and wipes away Noya’s tears instead of his own. He finds himself sobbing then, because he thinks he could’ve loved Asahi for a long time, if he’d ever been given the chance.
Tanaka and Ennoshita
Ennoshita bumps into Tanaka on his way to find a hiding place. It’s not necessarily anything but kindness when Tanaka grabs his hand, and they silently agree to die together so they don’t have to do it alone. They lay under some desks in the back of an abandoned classroom, and Tanaka talks about his child hood and Saeko, and Noya all while Ennoshita rubs circles on Tanaka’s open palm. This isn’t a bad way to die at all, Tanaka finds himself thinking when he finally grows quiet enough to really look at Ennoshita.
Tsukishima and Yamaguchi
They were in the same class when the notification sounded, and while everyone ran, they stayed seated. Kei thought vaguely of Akiteru, but he had the one person he really needed right in the same room. The feeling was clearly mutual, the two didn’t say a word, they simply laced their fingers together and waited for the world to end like they did everything else, together. It was all very calm until Yamaguchi heard sniveling from next to him, and turned to see a distraught Kei. Kei wrapped his long arms and only managed to get two words out before the world imploded around them, “Gomen, Tadashi.”
Kageyama and Hinata
Hinata is a mess, of epic proportions, and normally Kageyama would tell him to stop carrying on, but he can’t, because Shoyou has every right to be a mess. He should be too. But he can’t be, because he needs to keep it together, for Hinata. Hinata, who is currently screaming about Natsu and his mother, about how he can’t get to them. This goes beyond volleyball, his wails shake Tobio to his core because they are filled with not just soul bending grief, but guilt and frustration, as well. Finally, out of a love he hadn’t realized yet, he pulled his tiny giant into his lap and held him close to his chest while he shook. “R-Remember what I said, Shou? With me you are invincible. And you’re with me, so everything will be okay.” They both know he’s lying, but it quiets Hinata down, and they cling to each other until the world ends, and even after that.
Yachi and Kiyoko
Yachi almost dies in the hallway, trampled by her panicked peers, when Kiyoko pulls her up, and they sit on the bench in the desolate gym, Yachi playing with Kiyoko’s hair while Kiyoko swipes at Yachi’s bloody nose. Yachi kisses her gently on the lips, because she has bigger things than rejection to fear in the last few minutes of her life. Kiyoko merely smiles and pulls the girl in again, and that’s the best way to die, they’re sure of it.
Kunimi and Kindaichi
Kindaichi has never seen Kunimi show any sort of emotion off the court, so he immediately forgets his own tears when he notices the seemingly apathetic boy sobbing in the desk next to him. Great, silent sobs escape Kunimi despite his best efforts and Kindaichi’s stupid confused expression only seems to make it worse until he musters up all of his courage and decides not to die alone, and grabs Kunimi’s hand. Kunimi then shocks both of them as he leans his head into Kindaichi’s chest, after a moment, Kindaichi wraps his arms around Kunimi, and they think about all of the things that could’ve happened, if only this one massive thing had never happened.
Yahab and Kyoutani
Yahaba ran to the Aoba Johsai gym for some odd form of shelter originally, but nearly turned away the moment he saw Kyoutani punching the walls, enduring angry sobs. But the world was ending, and Yahaba was too afraid of other things to be afraid of Kyoutani, so he grabbed Kyoutani’s wrist, and pulled his bloodied fist closer to his own mouth, and pressed a soft kiss to the Mad Dog’s knuckles. They shared a meaningful look and then simply sat together, fingers interlocked, and tears flowing freely.
Iwaizumi and Oikawa
They’re in the same class as well, Oikawa is talking with some of his admirers, but when the alarm sounds, all he sees then is Iwaizumi. That’s how it was always going to be with them, in the end, they both only really saw each other. Then Oikawa thought of Takeru, dying with a bunch of strangers in a little classroom, and promptly threw up, all over his desk. The girls who hadn’t already run were certainly on their way out now as Iwa pulled Oikawa into his arms. He let’s out a watery chuckle as he wipes Oikawa’s normally perfect face and says, “You know I would’ve married you someday, right? That I would’ve spent my life giving you my everything?” Oikawa cries then, and together they mourn the loss of the future they would’ve had and their story ends the way it started, with each other.
Kuroo and Kenma
Kuroo finds Kenma, wide eyed and shivering in a corner of the Nekoma hallway, he pulls his ingenious setter away from the crowd and outside onto steps they had sat on many times together. He tucks Kenma’s hair behind his ear and freezes in shock when the small boy simply grabs Kuroo and pulls him into a melancholic kiss. “ I just thought you should know.” Tears are rolling down Kenma’s cheeks now and Kuroo is sobbing because not only did Kenma just kiss him, but he’d never have time to do it nearly as much as he wanted to. Making the best of the worst, Kuroo leaned in again, he wouldn’t let Kenma die feeling anything but loved.
Lev and Yaku
The giant Russian didn’t mean to find Yaku, it just sort of happened, and then he went into protector mode (even though Yaku could take care of himself just fine, thank you very much) and picked Yaku right up, running through the people in the hallway with ease while Yaku screamed in his arms. Lev stops when they reach the Nekoma locker rooms, and the moment his feet touch the ground, Yaku is screaming at Lev as Lev slides down the lockers and onto the floor, tears rolling down his cheeks. Yaku is still yelling when Lev interrupts him with a sharp “I love you”, that shuts the Libero right up. After a moment he simply mumbles “ alright then” and proceeds to climb right into Lev’s lap. They sit like that, Yaku’s face hidden in Lev’s neck and Lev’s arms wrapped around Yaku’s waist, right until the world ends. Yaku pauses at the last second to whisper something that sounded suspiciously like “I love you too” in Lev’s ear.
Bokuto and Akaashi
Bokuto F R E A K S out, and Akaashi can’t really explain it, but it’s like he can feel Bokuto freaking out, like he can feel Bokuto needing him. He finds the Ace curled up in the corner of the boys bathroom, and pulls him into his arms, laying on the filthy floor with the broken boy he had come to love so much. Bokuto kisses him softly, and it tastes like salt because Bokuto isn’t the only one crying. Akaashi draws soft circle patterns on Bokuto’s arms while Bokuto runs his fingers through Akaashi’s hair. They’re calm now that they know they’ll go together.
Ushijima and Tendo
Tendo fully expects to go alone, whether it was in eight minutes or eight years he just assumed he would endure whatever happened to him by himself. What he doesn’t expect is Ushijima asking him oh so politely if he would grant him the honor of dying with him. Well with a stunning proposal like that, how could he do anything but pull Ushijima into his hiding place with him? They simply talk in hushed tones about silly things until the last few minutes when Tendo leans over and presses a gentle kiss to Ushijima’s forehead. They hug then, and just like that, Tendo was happy, really happy, for the first-and last- time in his life.
Haikyuu battle of the bands!!! This is stupid but I’m a choir kid and I really love music so I had to imagine this one. I’m sorry this is really self indulgent but I dunno I hadn’t seen it yet and I’m a sucker for mood music so yeah feel free to ignore this I get it.

Tsukki, Yams, Hinata, and Kenma have a band that freaking destroys the indie grunge garage rock genre, they all grew up sad and messy. They sound a bit like mcafferty or the front bottoms and maybe cavetown when yams takes over more

Tsukki is a lead singer and nothing will change my mind, he can write and sing in that grunge way, it’s hot. He’s got a very cool detached vibe, and guys and girls alike are thirstin but none of them ever come to anything. He’s got an eye for his little back up singer with the green hair
Yams is the back up singer, and also a base guitarist and he’s kind of iconic, Tsukki has never needed anyone else, it’s been him and Yams since they were kids, and it’s been that way for a reason, Yams is almost a better lyricist than Tsukki
Hinata is their little guitarist and he’s literally king of those jaw dropping garage rock guitar shreds at live shows and god he’s really broken in this AU but he’s still extremely sunny, he just has a lot of trauma in his past
Kenma hits the drums, and writes a lot of the lyrics, he can also sing very high harmonies, so he’ll occasionally chip in on those
Bokuto, Iwaizumi, Kuroo, and Kyoutani have a freaking sick rock band, like I’m talking guitar shreds, eyeliner, screaming vocals ahhhhh I love it so much. They’re literally adored and they fall just on the edge of hard but not too hard. They sound a bit like Breaking Benjamin, Foo Fighters, and a little bit of Three Days Grace

Kuroo is the lead singer, very mid 2000s rock sound, raspy screaming, deep lyrics, sad eyes and beautiful hair. Drinks a lot, everyone loves him but him, wishes he were dead like a lot.
Bokuto plays guitar and just wants his friend to be okay , he seems very strong spirited and happy on stage but he has a habit of making a complete turn, and struggles with bipolar disorder on his own
Iwaizumi is a silent, brooding guitarist and probably lowkey the hottest member of the whole band, he shreds and him and bokuto shred back and forth at live shows its crazy
Kyoutani is a drummer with heavy dark make up and terrifying eyes, he’s the classic vision of rock and roll and god help him he has so many parents who h a t e him.
Asahi, Daichi, and Kiyoko are amazing. They vibe with a more indie pop sound, with soft piano chords and deep female vocals, reminiscent of Florence+the Machine, Of Monsters and Men, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, and Bon Iver.

Suga is the lead singer and his on stage emotion is crazy he’s an emotional wreck, practically screaming S A V E M E, he’s obviously on a lot of substances and victim of crippling low self worth. He cries on really bad nights, his voice is incredible but he’s losing himself to the heartbreak. Suga writes almost all of the lyrics.
Noya and Tanaka party all the time to cover up the fact that the both of them feel alone in rooms full of people, to hide the fact that they need saving too. Tanaka is guitar, Noya is drums.
Ennoshita is a guitarist as well, and he’s probably the only one keeping all of his bandmates from dying. The pressure is a lot for him.
Yachi is an unhinged curveball, you’d think she sings cute pop songs, but nah, that girl is straight up nuts. Screaming, vulgar, chaos is how you’d describe her music. She’s been repressed her who look e life and it SHOWS.

Mumble rap is a controversial genre to say the least, but I can’t deny that I love it and could see a few of the more spooky or apathetic volleyball boys partaking, especially Tendo and surprisingly, Kunimi. They’d sound somewhat like Ghostemane, $uicidBoy$, and Sueco the Child.

Tendo is scary af which really lends itself to the whole terrifying music style and stage presence he has. His music is dark seductive dissonance as is he.

This has probably been done before but I’m going through an obsession and I have so many thoughts about this so I had to do my take on it! So like a trashy Harry Potter!Haikyuu AU that no one needs but me…
A lot of people think Yamaguchi is a Hufflepuff and that makes sense and its REALLY cute, but gryffindor Yams has my whole heart! Everyone is confused as to why the gentle boy is there at first, but he soon proves to be one of the bravest Gryffindors when he shows a pension for self sacrifice and impulsive courage, especially when it comes to Tsukki
Tsukki is a ravenclaw, there’s just no way around it, he could do well in Slytherin but when the sorting hat mentions this to him, eleven year old tsukki shrugs his shoulders nonchalantly and says “they’re kind of lame” , he meets Yams the next day and he’ll never tell anyone this, but he actually stopped thinking for the first time in his life the moment he saw him
HINATA COULD BE GREAT IN SLYTHERIN!!1 I know he seems like a dead ringer for Gryffindor, but imagine him being desperate for Slytherine because that is where his hero, the famous quidditch star referred to as the “tiny giant”, was. Not to mention he has such an endless amount of determination, despite the odds being against him, he really just wants to be great and sLYTHERIN WILL HELP HIM ON THE WAY TO GREATNESS!
Kageyama is also in Slytherin which isn’t a surprise at all, but Hinata discovers something very surprising during their fifth year when Kageyama drinks too much fire whiskey and let’s it slip that the hat almost placed him in-hufflepuff, it’s his greatest shame. Hinata thinks it’s awesome! This amazing boy is cunning and determined but he’s also secretly very kind and hardworking! He wont admit it, but he falls a little in love with him.
Yachi is hufflepuff and I love her so much she smells like flowers and busts down in the green house everyday!
Tanaka is gryffindor, he and Noya are veryyy reminiscent of a certain pair of ginger twins that once caused mischief among the halls of hogwarts much like they do
Noya is a Gryffindor as well, and he loves three things, Tanaka, Quidditch, and his future husband, Asahi
Ennoshita is a sweet ravenclaw who is a surprisingly strong tenor in the ravenclaw choir
Ah! Asahi is a Hufflepuff Prefect and he wears his hair down a lot and he radiates this warmth and it’s just so wholesome its nuts. He will marry Noya one day, he just seems to be the only one who doesn’t know it at this point, but from the piggy back rides to the soft smiles, it’s pretty clear where his affections lie.
Suga is really fun because he’s hard to sort, they call it a Hatsall, when even the hat is a bit stumped. He’s smart, kind, sneaky, and chivalrous, so the hat let’s him chose. After much deliberation he winds up in green, a slytherin prefect, and it’s a good thing, because hinata and kageyama should never be left unsupervised
Daichi is a Gryffindor, and head boy which is also good because Noya and Tanaka are a lot, and need almost constant supervision as well. Suga and Daichi definetly have a “thing” but you’d have to pull their teeth to get them to admit it
Kiyoko is the head girl for Ravenclaw and her greatest joy is reading up on plants so she can flirt with Yachi in green house
Kenma is a very unimpressed Ravenclaw who gets along surprisingly well with Tsukki and spends most of his time flirtin-I mean talking with a slytherin prefect
Kuroo is a slytherin prefect, and damn if people dont love a bad boy, but he’s only got eyes for one odd little ravenclaw, he just loves watching kenma blush
Lev is a hufflepuff, who spends the majority of his school years pining after Yaku
Yaku is a ravenclaw who spends the majority of his years pini-avoiding that annoyingly hot hufflepuff, Lev.
Kyoutani is a gryffindor, Yahaba is a slytherin, they’ve been breaking up and making up since their first year
Oikawa and Iwaizumi are a slytherin powercouple, though they also fight nonstop, oikawa is head boy and Iwaizumi is the stereotypical brooding scary slytherin, they are extremely dangerous together.
Bokuto is a gryffindor, with a big thing for people who have the one thing he doesn’t, a level head
Enter Akaashi, ravenclaw head boy, and an angel straight from Bokuto’s wildest dreammms
Ushijima is a Hufflepuff mainly because he is hardworking and loves plants. He is the head boy and also Yachi’s self appointed big brother. That is all. He also loves Tendou
Tendou is freaky observant snek boi, lowkey the most dangerous person in the entire slytherin house, knows Ushijima has it bad for him and feels the same, but also loves to play with him a little
Aone is the cutest Hufflepuff prefect, and everyone is super confused as to why big spooky boys keep getting sorted into hufflepuff, but oh well

Ukai loves his gryffindor sons and is the coolest advisor EVER
Takeda has hufflepuff and it’s really cute, he also likes plants
Takeda and Ukai are definetly in love but they obviously have to hide it but everyone already knows. Tsukki and Yama once caught them in the room of requirement-it was terrible for all parties involved.
This is probably stupid but like cupid!sugawara has my whole heart. It’s probably just the quarantine talking but I was watching the music video for “Give Me Love” by Ed Sheeran and there isn’t enough DaiSuga angst in this world. So here’s another dumpster fire based on that iconic video.
Suga is super lonely, okay? No one knows how he came to exist or why, and despite looking like a literal angel and acting like one too, no one ever seems to remember his face or him
He has only ever had himself, and though he seems strong it’s breaking him, slowly.
But Suga is so special because he’s always been one of those people who still wants the best for everyone around them, even when they don’t deserve it. Even though he is so lonely, he still loves helping people find the one thing he can’t have: love.
That’s why fate gave him his wings, the itching in his shoulders that resulted in blood stained ethereal wings was a gift, of sorts
He doesn’t know why or how he got the arrows or the wings but he wanders the streets nonetheless, and that’s when he sees them
Kageyama and Hinata are college roommates, they’re screaming at each other over some girl, Suga subconsciously knows neither of those boys belong with that girl they’re arguing about, so he notches an arrow for the first time and fires it into Kageyama’s back
He smiles when Kageyama picks up his tiny counterpart, ending their argument and starting their lives with a kiss
He frowns at the slight pinch of sorrow he feels
The next time he fires it’s at a famous model and his photographer, Oikawa has always been oblivious and Iwaizumi has always been stubborn
Frankly, Suga is exhausted just watching them dance around each other for a night, so he decides to put them both out of their misery, and laughs mischievously when Oikawa knocks the camera from Iwaizumi’s grasp as he jumps in his lap
He can’t help but notice that the sorrow is growing in him
One night he wanders into a party, dimly lit and unsurprisingly full of lost souls, the pain his empathetic heart feels is enough to make him forget the consequences of what he’s about to do
He shoots Lev in the back and watches the giant wrap his elegant limbs around Yaku
Kenma is next, throwing aside his phone and pulling Kuroo down to his level so he can kiss him
Akaashi and Bokuto fall prey to his arrow as well, even though Akaashi was previously unaware of his feelings
Yamaguchi finally works up the courage to kiss Tsukki rather violently with the aid of one of Suga’s arrows
Only after he has done his damage and he’s quietly walking home does he realize his mistake
His face is wet with tears and he’s clearly completely destroyed his heart to fix everyone else’s
In the dim light of his apartment, he looks at his arrow, strong, and sharp. He has an idea
Daichi has been an EMT for three years now, you can see a lot in that time, and he definetly had, but nothing like the beautiful angel boy in front of him
He nearly cried the moment his eyes landed on the prone being, blood and gold surrounding his once beautiful face, an arrow sticking almost daintily from his thin chest
His tears didn’t have a chance to fall, though, because the boy moved
Suga knew the moment his eyes focused on Daichi’s, that he had finally found the one person who wouldn’t forget him.
Okay so like Demigod!Haikyuu crossover is blowing my mind rn. So here is this dumpster fire
Hinata is an ADORABLE child of Apollo, and he still loves Volleyball but he’s naturally really good at archery too! Definetly in love with Kageyama
Kageyama looks like he’d be powerful, everyone assumes he’d be a child of Zeus, Posiedon, or Hades, but he always enjoys the look of fear in their eyes when he robs the world of light, as only a child of Nyx (goddess of the night) could, smitten with sunshine aka Hinata
Tsukki is a son of Athena, which really didn’t shock anyone,especially not Tsukki, though he does take issue with some of his more “unexpected” siblings, whipped for Yama and formulated a business regarding a certain illicit plant
Yamaguchi can nurture and grow things so naturally that he is claimed as a child of Demeter almost instantaneously (he definetly doesn’t grow any illegal plants with his powers) he and Tsukki have a lot of money, no one knows why
Tanaka is a son of Aries in the most stereotypical sense and he’s found his people
Noya loves his half brother, Tanaka, but he still absolutely destroys him in sword play, the two sons of aries are impossible on the battle field, thinks Asahi is a damsel in distress
Enoshita is a son of Hestia, goddess of the home and hearth, because he is steady and grounded in a way that many envy
Asahi is a son of Iris, the goddess of rainbows, because not only is he precious but he’s also inherited his mother’s eye for color, not as big on battle, Noya thinks this is adorable
Sugawara is the head of the Aphrodite cabin, and probably the most likeable member, also probably one of the most dangerous, has a thing for sons of aries (like his mom), mainly just one son of aries
Daichi struggles to keep his brothers in check, but no other child of aries is up for the job so as the most level headed kid in that whole cabin, Daichi steps up, when he’s not playing dad to his siblings, he’s trying to impress a particularly mischievous son of Aphrodite
Kiyoko is a huntress of Artemis
Yachi is a very helpful nymph
Oikawa is Suga’s brother and the self proclaimed “hottest son of aphrodite” he likes to act like he is a ladies man but everyone knows he has eyes for one son of Aries
Bless Iwaizumi son of aries, and the only person next to Daichi who can keep the other unruly aries children in line, says he hates oikawa but was caught in the aphrodite cabin with him, many,many times
Kyoutani is a son of hades. No one is surprised. He hates everyone. Except Yahaba. Yahaba is okay.
Yahaba is a particularly aggressive child of aphrodite who definetly does not want to marry a certain son of hades (suga and oikawa tease him all the time)
It’s Kuroo he’s the unexpected child of Athena, and everyone is confused, but these things dont always make sense and Tsukki has to have something go wrong
Kenma is a very quick witted child of Hermes who is definetly in on Tsukki and Yama’s…scheme
Akaashi keeps the peace in the Athena cabin, and spends a considerable amount of time with a certain son of Hermes
Bokuto is a reluctant son of Hermes, who uses most of his brain power hitting on Akaashi
Ushijima is the son of Demeter, and knows absolutely nothing about his younger brother’s illicit plants or his boyfriend’s (tendou) inate proclivity for maddness
Tendou is the freakiest son of Dionysus ever, he positively reeks of madness and Ushijima
AN: I know its been a year since ive updated but I had such a bad writers block with this story… idk all of a sudden a plot just came to mind and ive decided to pick this book up again!
Chapter 11: Bitter-Sweet
Chapter 11
“Toyo! Be careful!” Ari scolded the young boy who rubbed the back of his neck
“S-Sorry! I just wanted to see!” He whined, stepping away from the oven. Ari sighed, wiping her hands on her apron before they both peered through the glass of the oven, looking at the vanilla cupcakes slowly rise in their cases letting out ‘oo’s’.
“I hope they taste good… Baking really isn’t my forte…” She muttered… Although it was the weekend, Toyo decided to inform her last minute that there was a bake sale happening at the school tomorrow in hopes of raising funds for a field trip. Ari wouldn’t have minded except for the fact Toyo showed her the flyer after dinner and she had to dash towards the supermarket to get the right ingredients…
“Can I eat one after its done!?” Toyo asked her and she nodded,
“Ofcourse you can, but only one… Too much sugar before bed isn’t good for you… Sensei wont be pleased if he finds outs I let you have sweets before sleeping, again…”
“Can I have two please? Sensei doesn’t need to know!” Toyo begged making her chuckle
“Okay but don’t let him find out, otherwise we both are going to be in trouble” Ari laughed watching the kid cheer in joy
Ari was trying to make a conscious effort in her parenting skills with Toyo, she was a little more lax than what she should’ve been. In the last few months, Sugawara had really tried his best in guiding Ari and Toyo towards a healthier relationship. Surprisingly, Toyo had really opened up to her. He’d wake her up on the weekends to make plans with Sugawara and her, he was always excited to spend time with them. What made the young woman most relieved was that because Toyo had now began interacting with everyone around him, he had made a lot of friends in school and thanks to his best friend Naoki Kuroo, he was no longer alone.

Her boyfriend was an angel. Ever since she met the man, it was like her life had done a 180 and everything was just getting better and better. He knew just how to uplift their moods if something happened, he was Toyo’s loyalist supporter and her life coach. Sometimes it worried her that they depended on him too much, eventually taking a toll on him, however Sugawara never made it seem like they were a burden on him. He was just so wonderful and full of love, filling that void in Toyo and her life…
It was right on time when she heard her front door opening,
“Sensei!” Toyo cheered, running towards the door at full speed just in time to jump onto Sugawara who was about to slip his shoes off
“Oomph!Hehe, hello Toyo-kun, I see you’ve been busy for tomorrow’s bake sale. How are the cupcakes getting along?” He asked but Toyo was too excited, grabbing onto the older man’s arm
“C’mon! They’re almost done! Did ya get the icing!?” Toyo asked in excitement, bouncing around while dragging Sugawara to the kitchen. Ari was grinning, leaning against the island when he walked in, locking eyes with her. He broke out into a wider grin, lifting the grocery bag in his hand
“Why hello there” She teasingly sang and Sugawara sauntered towards hers, leaning down to peck her lips sweetly
“Hello gorgeous, hows it going? I got the ingredients for the icing” He said, lifting the abg and she wrapped her arms around his neck
“You are a life saver” She beamed, kissing him again. Sugawara dropped the bag on the counter, his hands on her hips, pulling her in for a deeper kiss. He was seconds away from pushing his tongue in her mouth until they both heard someone cough. Pulling away they turned to see Toyo covering his eyes
“Gross, don’t do this stuff in front of me! Blegh!” Toyo muttered shyly, making them laugh.
“Sorry Toyo-kun, but you know I can’t help myself when I see Ari-chan” Sugawara turned to wink at her and she giggled, feeling her cheeks heat up
“You’re so silly…” She rolled her eyes, only to make him grin wider
He was about to grab her again but the oven dinged and everyone’s attwntion went to it.
“They’re done!!!!” Toyo yelled and she quickly hushed him,
“Toyo, you’ll disturb the neighbours! ” He cupped his mouth and she grabbed the gloves, slipping them on
“Okay, step back while I take them out… It’s hot and you might burn yourself” She warned Toyo, who nodded and stood by Sugawara while he patted Toyo’s head
“I’m excited, they look so good!” Sugawara grinned, watching her bend down to retrieve the piping hot tray. His eyes were glued to her ass, licking his own lips
“I can’t wait to have a taste…” He muttered cheekily but both the Shiyo’s didn’t catch on
“I’m so glad I made some spares! We’ll let them cool down for a few minutes before we try them, okay?” Ari said to Toyo who groaned,
“But I wanna eat one now”
“It’s too hot, buddy. You’ll burn your tongue… C’mon, lets go take a bath and by the time we’re finished, they should be cool enough” Sugawara suggested and Toyo nodded,
“Fine! But I want to have the biggest cupcake!”
Ari laughed, “Okay, you got it, your highness!”
Toyo grinned, rushing towards the bathroom while cheering. Both Ari and Sugawara shook their heads in amusements watching him excitedly throw his clothes on in a haste before running towards the bathroom…
“He’s literally like a energizer battery…” Ari laughed and Sugawara grinned, stepping behind her only to wrap his arms around her waist, his lips kissing her neck making her giggle
“How was the reunion with your friends?” She asked him and Sugawara hummed,
“It was a lot of fun, felt like highschool again, especially when Daichi began yelling at our juniors… They’re such idiots when they drink…” Sugawara sighed while she craned her neck to look at him. He stared into her brown eyes, his hands squeezing her hips with affection
“You look so pretty” He cooed and she raised a brow, feeling her cheeks heat up…
“I look like a wreck… Seriously, baking is not my forte… I’m surprised they actually look decent” She muttered, staring at the spongecakes in their cases, they did look really good.
“They look fantastic to me, all that’s left is the icing and we’re good to go for tomorrow. You should’ve let me baked and taken rest today” Sugawara said but she shook her head
“No way, I’m Toyo’s guardian, its my responsibility. Can’t make you do everything for me!” She argued, but he turned her body around to face her, trapping her between him and the kitchen island, gripping her jaw
“But I wanna do everything for you…” Sugawara muttered, leaning closer to peck her lips and she sighed, returning a few pecks of her own
“Koushi, you’re going to rile me up and we both have work tomorrow…” She muttered but he continued pecking her lips
“…Don’t care… I wanna keep going…” He whispered, letting his hands slowly slide down her sides, travelling to squeeze her ass
“We can’t…” She whispered back and Sugawara pouted in response
“Why not?”
“SENSEI! C’mon! The baths gonna get cold!” Toyo’s voice called, making the adults freeze before Ari grinned,
“That’s why.”
Sugawara sighed, his head tilting back, letting her stand on her toes to kiss his cheek sweetly
“I’m just coming Toyo-kun!” Sugawara called out
“Go on then, I’ll finish up here in the meantime” She cooed, turning him around. Sugawara nodded, about to walk towards the bathroom when her palm collided with his backside, making him squeak and blush in shock. She winked at him
“Couldn’t help myself…”
Sugawara’s brows furrowed, watching her giggle before she turned her attention back towards the ingredients for the icing, humming. But her humming was cut short and she gasped when she felt Sugawara press himself against her body, pushing her against the counter
“K-Koushi!” She squeaked but he hushed her, digging his crotch into her while his hands snuck under her apron to fondle her breasts. She bit back a mewl when his fingers slid under her bra to pinch and squeeze her soft nipples, making her moan. She was about to lose herself to his touches but her eyes opened when she felt him let go off her,
“Koushi?” She looked at him and he grinned, slapping her ass, making her squeal
“Sorry… Couldn’t help myself…” He purred, winking at her before turning to walk towards the bathroom, leaving her flushed form leaning against the kitchen counter
“…Demon…” She muttered trying to control her beating heart, before she shook her head, taking a deep breath. Ari blushed before shaking her head, grabbing the ingredients as she started making the icing
It took a little while and she concentrated hard, her tongue poking out of the corner of her mouth, focusing on the trying to make the perfect swirl of blue icing…
Humming, she set the piping bag down… They didn’t look bakery-perfect but she thought she did a decent job. She could hear footsteps approaching her and she turned to meet a happy and fresh Toyo with Sugawara in tow.
“How was the bath?” She asked them
“Good!” Toyo beamed before he rushed towards the kitchen island, looking at the cupcakes in awe before he began nouncing in excitement,
“Ari-Nee, can I have one now!? Please, please, please!” He begged and she laughed,
“Hold your horses, all three of us are going to try it together. I wanna see our reactions!” She grinned and Sugawara smiled, standing with them looking at the cupcakes
“Awesome! I’ve been thinking about theses throughout the bath! Well then…” He picked two cupcakes up, handing them to Toyo and her before he picked up one for himself. They all eagerly looked at their desserts before chanting
“Itadakimasu!”
Immediately everyone bit into their cupcakes but they all froze,
“Blegh! What the! Ew” Toyo spat his out, his tongue sticking out in disgust. Ari grimaced now utterly confused, muttering
“What on earth… It’s–”
“Salty…” Sugawara ended, baffled as they stared at the cupcakes before looking at one another.
“I don’t understand, we followed that recipe, step by step!” She was flummoxed, looking at all of the ingredients. Sugawara raised a brow, lifting up the jar of sugar, his finger taking a tiny pinch, tasting it before raising a brow
“Uh babe… I think you mixed up the salt and sugar…”
Ari’s eyes widened and she took a pinch from the jar before tasting it and groaning
“Oh god… I can’t believe I’ve done this…”
Sugawara burst out laughing, looking at her flustered face before Toyo joined in, giggling. She wanted to be upset but she couldn’t help but laugh too
“St-Stop, I have to start from scratch again… Hehe, I can’t believe my luck… I’m so stupid! Now I’m gonna have to start all over again”
Sugawara set the ruined batch of cupcakes to the side before he looked at the kitchen counter
“It looks like we have enough ingredients. Let’s make this one together” Sugawara chuckled, rolling up the sleeves of his sweatshirt to his elbows. Ari wanted to argue and tell him she could do it herself but she stopped when he reached for the apron, tying it around his waist. A blush grew on her face, watching him measure of the ingredients before he glanced at her
“What?” He asked and she shook her head, giggling again
“Nothing… Its just…”
He raised a brow, “…Just..?”
She tried to bite back a cheeky grin
“You’re like a housewife…”
Toyo burst out laughing and Sugawara blushed, pushing his hair away from his forehead
“I used to do Home-Ec… It was fun, okay… and I make pretty damn good cupcakes…” He muttered making Toyo gasp
“Sensei, you said a bad word!”
Sugawara was flustered and she burst out laughing
“S-Sometimes teachers make mistakes too… Don’t tell your friends, okay?” He raised his pinky and Toyo nodded, gripping onto it with his own
“It’s okay, I say bad words too!” Toyo admitted and both adults raised as brow
“…What bad words do you say…?” Ari asked him…
“Yeah…?” Sugawara asked as well
She was a little worried, looking at his hesitant face before he rubbed the back of his neck
“…Sometimes I tell Naoki to shut up… He calls me stupid so I call him idiot!” He blurted, now feeling anxious. Both Sugawara and Ari let out a sigh of relief, now feeling amused, trying not to laugh. Sugawara’s lips were shaking when he looked at her before sighing and pretending to be annoyed
“Now Toyo… Friends shouldn’t call each other names… Sometimes you can’t help yourself and that’s all right but try not to make it a habit.” He advised and Toyo frowned,
“But Ari-Nee says badder words! She always says the S-word or F-word!” He clasped his hands on his cheeks, shaking his head
“Even I don’t say that!”
Her eyes widened and she blushed when Sugawara looked at her in. amusement
“Shit…” She muttered before gasping, shaking her head
“Shit!– N-No! Uh– Fuck!” She hissed, waving her hands, chanting in a panic
“Oh, no, no, no! Toyo!” She rambled in her flustered state, cursing her snitch of a nephew. Sugawara was highly amused, laughing while Toyo crossed his arms, shaking his head
“No fair! Why’d I get a lecture but Ari-Nee doesn’t? She said two very bad words”
“Hey! What happened to loyalty!? Why are you throwing me under the bus, Toyo!” She whined while her boyfriend kept laughing
“Don’t worry Toyo… Because you didn’t say a verybadword, I’ll let you get away with it this time…” He smirked, licking his bottom lip while glancing at Ari
“…But because Ari-Nee has such foul language… I think she’s in need of a punishmentlater” He cooed, making her blush.
“Please spare me, Sensei…” She pretended but of course, she was looking forward to what this punishment curtailed. They were broken out of their little moment when Toyo suddenly stepped in front of his aunt, as if he was shielding her
“No! You can’t hurt Ari-Nee! She made a mistake, she didn’t mean it” He tried defending her, shocking both adults. She froze, really not expecting this and Sugawara raised his hands in defeat
“Don’t worry Toyo-kun, I was just joking” He tried calming the boy down, and it worked. Toyo let out a sigh of relief, dropping his arms before looking at his shocked aunt
“Sorry Ari-Nee, I wasn’t loyal. Next time, I won’t tell Sensei if you save a bad word”
She felt her bottom lip jut out, her eyes rounding with affection before she dropped to her knees, encompassing the little boy in her arms
“Oh gosh Toyo! You’re so cute! I’m so happy I have a strong man like you to protect me! Look at you, keeping me safe!” She cooed, peppering his face in kisses but Toyo grimaced, trying to move away from her
“Ew, you’re getting spit all over me! Sensei, help!” Toyo yelled but she kept attacking his cheeks with kisses. His sensei just laughed.
Sugawara was pleased, looking at the utter joy in her eyes. This had to be the biggest stepping stone in their relationship. Toyo had finally accepted her and it was evident he loved his aunt with all his heart. He loved seeing the happiness radiate on their faces, it was completely different from when they had met. The apartment used to be filled with silence but now whenever he was with them, there was only laughter and good chaos
Toyo glanced at Sugawara before he raised his own pinky
“Promise you’ll take care of Ari-Nee when I’m gone” Toyo said and the couple was startled, making her panic
“Gone!? Where are you going?” She blurted and Sugawara nodded,
“Yeah? Where do you think you’re going?”
Toyo kept quiet, looking at his feet in silence. Sugawara and Ari shared puzzled looks between themselves before both of the crouched to his eye level
“Toyo… What’s going on?” She asked him, patting his back and he shrugged,
“Well… Now that Sensei and you are boyfriend-girlfriend… My friends said it means you’re gonna get married and have a baby… You won’t have space for me here…” He muttered and they were shocked, looking at each other with wide eyes, blushing
“T-Toyo! Sensei and I are not getting married or having any babies, okay? Your friends don’t know understand our family dynamics, okay? It’s a little complicated compared to others” She said but the boy refused to look at them.
She stood up, lifting the child in her arms, forcing him to look at her face
“Hey, look at me…” She whispered, finally looking into his gleaming eyes, feeling her heart squeeze
“Toyo…” She cooed softly, resting her forehead against his,
“I could have one baby or 10… You will always have space with me, no matter what… I’m always here for you, okay and I will never ever abandon you. I have no babies right now because you’re baby…” She tried rocking him, laughing lightly when he muttered that he wasn’t a baby, shyly. Sugawara patted Toyo’s head, feeling a little bad for the kid. It was honestly so sweet how innocent his mind was
“…And besides Toyo-kun, if Ari-Nee does have a baby, they need a reliable big brother to protect them like you just protected her. Promise me, you’ll be the best big brother?” He asked and Toyo thought their words over, sniffling and nodding
“I promise…” He muttered before she set him down. He was glued to her hip, something she was not used to, looking at Sugawara for guidance. He merely smiled, his hand going on Toyo’s back before whispering
“It’s getting late Toyo, come on, let’s put you to bed” He said softly, walking with them towards Toyo’s room. Although the bed was small and cramped, Toyo was huddled between Sugawara and her. He stayed close to her, while she soothed him. Sugawara watched quietly in awe, looking at the gentle look on her face
“Toyo, are you feeling better now?” She asked him and he nodded, glancing at her
“Yeah…” He said and Sugawara hummed,
“Toyo if you ever feel sad like this, you need to tell us. No matter what questions you have or what you’re feeling. We’re here for you” He said and she nodded. Toyo’s brows furrowed and he sat up, making them look at his perplexed face
“I do have a question…” He said and they nodded
“Yes?” Sugawara asked and Toyo scratched his temple
“So you both aren’t getting married or having babies?” He asked them, making them both chuckle awkwardly
“No… We aren’t honey” Ari answered and Toyo frowned,
“What is it?” Sugawara asked and he shrugged again
“Why do you sleep in Ari-Nee’s bed then? I thought only Papas and Mamas sleep in one bed?”
Both of them felt like a deer in headlights, cheeks heating up intensely as they were at a loss of words…. Sugawara pretended to check the imaginary watch on his wrist before sliding out of the bed
“Well… I better get started on the cupcakes then! I’ll let Nee-chan answer this one”
“K-Koushi! Come back here” She squeaked but he bolted out of the door, leaving Toyo confused. She laughed awkwardly, patting the mattress again
“Um Toyo…” She started, trying to think of something…
“So… Why do Sensei and I share a bed…?” She repeated his question to herself, stalling
“Uh… You’re right, married couples do sleep in one bed but… So do people that are dating. Sensei is my boyfriend, so he’s allowed to share my bed with me. Sometimes he stays late because he’s busy helping us around the house that it gets very late and its too dangerous for him to go home…” She lied before clearing her throat
“…Your bed is too small so sensei shares mine because it fits two people easily!”
Toyo just nodded, “Oh… That makes sense…” He felt satisfied, settling himself back down properly and she let out a sigh of relief, watching him yawn
“Sleepy?” She asked and he nodded
“Yeah…”
She swept her fingers through his hair before she slid out of bed, tucking him under the covers. Bending down, she kissed his forehead
“Sweet dreams, Toyo-kun” She whispered, making her way towards his door
“Um… Ari-Nee?” Toyo said and she stopped, turning to face him with a smile
“Yes honey?” She asked and he bit his lip, looking reluctant again. She waited, watching him take a deep breath before looking at her
“My mum’s not coming back, is she?” He asked and she felt her heart race, swallowing in panic. He knew his mother had passed away but in the last three years, they never address it… Her eyes casted to her feet and she nodded
“I’m sorry Toyo but she’s not…”
“Yeah… I know…” He nodded again, swallowing
“And my Papa? Where is he? Is he in heaven too?” He asked and she closed the door, sitting at the end of his bed. She fiddled with her fingers, this was a conversation she had hoped to have with a much older Toyo but of course, he must have been thinking about it, all these years
“Toyo, listen… Your father is out there somewhere and we’ll find him when you’re older, I promise. But for now…” She gripped his hand, squeezing it
“You’re my child” She answered and his eyes widened,
“So… You’re my second Mama?” He asked and she smiled, nodding trying to control her eyes from tearing up
“That’s exactly what I am. You don’t have to call me Mama or Okasan. Ari-Nee is just fine… But if you ever want to, just know, I don’t mind… Don’t force yourself, okay?”
She hugged him and he hugged her back, she let her tears quietly slid down her cheeks, just holding him close to her, rocking him back and forth
“Is Sensei my second Papa?” He asked her and she froze, unsure what to say
“He’s Ari-Nee’s boyfriend and your sensei right now. Nothing more, nothing less, okay?” She tried to make him understand and he was finally very tired, just nodding while in a haze of sleep and she slowly tucked him back under the covers again
“Goodnight angel” She whispered
“Night Mama…” He groggily whispered back making her freeze, her eyes welled over and she exited his room.
She shut the door behind her, letting out the deep breath that she had no idea she was holding. That conversation really overwhelmed her… The smell of sweets drifting through the air and she mindlessly walked into the kitchen where Sugawara was happily humming to himself, finishing the piping on the freshly baked batch of cupcakes. He glanced at her grinning, lifting up one cupcake
“Right on time, we’re all set for tomorrows bake sale! Eh– Ari!?” He was puzzled, looking at the tears brimming in her eyes as her bottom lip shook. She looked at his slightly dishevelled state before eyeing the beautifully frosted piping on the cakes, letting her tears fall over
“Y-You’re so good to me!” She sobbed and he set the bag down, rushing to her.
“Baby, what happened?” He tried soothing her but she cried on
“It’s just–” She hiccupped, hugging him tighter… “He called me Mama!” She sobbed, feeling all the emotions overwhelm her. Sugawara rubbed her back, resting his chin on top of her head, holding her against his chest
“I-I’m so happy but at the same time, I feel so horrible… I hate that Toyo has to go through all of this… He’s such a good boy and he deserves to have loving parents and siblings… He doesn’t even know who his father is… I-I can’t imagine what he thinks every day when he sees the other kids with their parents… He must feel so alone, all the time…” She wept and Sugawara slowly dragged her into the bedroom, closing the door behind them.
He sat her at the end of the bed before he crouched onto the floor, peering at her tear streaked face, stroking her cheek gently
“C’mon now, honey… I know the situation sucks but don’t say that he’s alone. You’re his family and he called you his mother… He’s accepted that your sister won’t come back and eventually he will need to accept the fact that no one knows who his father is… But like you said, no matter what happens, you’re always going to be there for him. He’s not alone, he has you. He has me.” Sugawara said and she sniffled,
“Koushi, I honestly wouldn’t have been able to get this far had it not been for you… You just make everything better for me… I love you so much” She sobbed and he sighed, smiling to himself before he sat next to her, kissing her temple
“I don’t know where our relationship will take us but what I know is that… I love you just as much and I also love Toyo a lot… We may just be dating right now but you both are my top priority and my family too…” He muttered, soothing her and she calmed down, looking at him before her lips formed a shaky smile
“Koushi, you’re so sweet but… I need you to know that if you feel like this is getting too much for you, I won’t hate you if you leave…’
He froze,
“Ari, what the hell are you saying? I’m not going to leave you ever. I don’t go into serious relationships with the intention of leaving…” He said with a blush on his face, wiping her stray tears away before he glanced at her pouted lips. Taking a deep breath, he leaned in to plant a loving kiss on her lips before pulling away
“Don’t think about the future just yet… We’ll take this one day at a time, alright?” He said and she nodded,
“I love you…” She muttered making him smile
“Me too, I love you too, cry baby… Now I know how to make my babe feel happy again” He cooed, watching her face turned into a fluster before she wiped her eyes, laughing lightly. Sugawara grinned, lifting his other hand to show her the fresh cupcake that he was still holding onto before he wriggled his brows
“Care for a cupcake, my lady?”
She giggled, making him chuckle before he pulled the case off one side
“Don’t mind if I do” She answered, opening her mouth as he fed her one half.
“Mmm! This is damn good!” She said in surprise and he grinned, eating the other half before he leaned forward, making her freeze when his tongue swiped her bottom lip, licking up the frosting from it. She blushed hard, when he licked his lips
Hinata:*hits Kageyama in the head with a ball* The Karasuno boys three hours later, trying to coax him down from a tree: It’s okay he’s gone you can come down now- Hinata, still shaking: He’s not gone, he’s waiting.
Hinata: Guys, can I sleep in your tent today? Sugawara: No. Daichi said go to sleep. IN YOUR OWN TENT. Hinata, whisper yells: But I think my tent is HAUNTED!!! Asahi: Is it scarier than Daichi? Hinata: Hinata: *goes back to his tent*
