This is an older fic and I’m honestly surprised it doesn’t have more hits. I know some people have read it but it you haven’t check it out!! It’s one of my early favorites and one I come back to again and again.

Ten years after Watford, Simon is lonely and magic-less, and ends up doing exactly what he vowed he would never do - going on a singles tour of Magickal Britain. The only problem is that out of all the mages in England, he’s been matched with Baz Pitch, who seems just as moody, rude and annoyingly attractive as he used to be.
This is a post-Wayward Son fic that imagines the gang back at Watford after their return from America. It tenderly confronts the idea that Simon retains some residual magic, explores his Salisbury family connections, and gives such a lovely snapshot of this found family, and the depth of love between Simon and Baz. It’s a very healing fic. Canon divergent now that AWTWB is out but oh so worth the read. Just lovely.
Ok, full disclosure, I am so fond of reading domestic fluff and this totally hits the domestic fluff buttons, but it also is a very healing fic to read? It’s like an epilogue to AWTWB. It addresses some of their past Watford-era conflict and it features body worship and intimacy and just go read it! (Also, it’s this author’s first fic in the fandom and I’d like to see more from them.)

HE TRUSTED HARRY’s last words without a single doubt, risked his LIFE to follow through with what he promised Harry without even KNOWing what Nagini was or meant. He just did it out of pure love and trust for Harry. :(

Hello there my loyal readers! This entry is not going to be a typical one as I have decided that I wanted to do something nice for a friend this fourth day into the New Year. even though this was finished yesterday and I thought I lost it just as I was about to post Granted, this was supposed to be written and published when what I will be talking about was released, but being sick tends to put a spanner in the works.
This blog entry is specifically to review/praise one of my absolute favorite artists, who I am beyond grateful to call my friend even though I have no idea how to do the whole “friend” thing and am terrible at being one, new song that he released on New Years Eve.
Cliffside, created and written by the amazing Sam Wickens, was a more than welcome surprise to my miserably sick self that Monday morning. It seems whenever I get sick, he reappears from the ashes with something new, or a spontaneous broadcast.
So I can’t exactly complain.
I was lamenting the fact that Sam needed more songs on his YouTube channel to my father the first day I was sick, which was Sunday, as he wasn’t broadcasting as much as he used to and between rewatching Supernatural for the ∞ time and listening to Sam sing, those are the only two things that are usually able to keep my spirits up when I’m bed bound. Then, the following morning, I’m greeted with the best notification I could think of. New music posted by Sam. I immediately opened it and turned my phones volume to the max and let the song wash over me.
Now, I am not exaggerating when I say that I feel like a novella could be written because of this song. The first time I listened to Cliffside, I was no longer in my bed, sick. I was on a dusty road leading into a thick forest where someone stood just out of sight, beckoning me forward. Each second of this song took me somewhere new and I can’t stop listening to it.
To say I am proud of my friend is an understatement. With everything that went on last year, he still manages to release an absolutely beautiful song that is new yet familiar. Here’s to another 365 days of achievements, be it taking a day off without feeling guilty, or finishing a long time project, or even just getting out of bed in the morning.
“Opposumology” and “underappreciated” combined! This little one is about to enjoy a jam-filled lemon poppy seed scone. (#ifyouknowyouknow)
Opposums are this strange mix of weird and cute, but they have reason to be appreciated as well! They are North America’s only marsupial, have prehensile tails and opposeable toe thumbs to help them climb. Opposums help keep tick populations down. They are immune to rabies, and also some snake bites because they eat snakes for breakfast! Valuable research for antivenoms is being done because of this.
Definitely just had fun on this one, while attempting to shift towards a different technique.

“Hero..? Damn… When Sidekick called and told me what happened, I never expected… this.”
Hero was standing in the parking lot of the bar, bottle in hand, glaring at Villain. “Why are youhere?”
“I’m here to stop you from self destructing.”
With a frustrated yell, Hero threw the bottle in their hand at Villain. It missed.
“Wow.” Villain looked down at the smashed pieces of glass now littering the ground.
“Get the fuck away from me! I don’t want your help!”
“Are you always this expressive when you’re drunk? You’re usually so calm.”
Hero took a shaking breath. “Don’t talk to me— I don't— You shouldn’t have come!”
“Sidekick is worried about you. I thought they were exaggerating, but… Well, now I’m worried.” Villain started closer to Hero.
“Stay away from me!”
“No. Hero, you’re coming with me. Make it easier and go quietly.”
Hero tried to push Villain, but Villain just caught them close against their chest. “Let go!” Hero started thrashing. “Let me go you— you bastard!”
“Wow. Creative.” Villain rolled their eyes, forcing Hero across the parking lot to their car. “I’d put you in the backseat, but I don’t trust you to sit still.” Villain shoved Hero into the trunk and closed the hatch.

“Get me out of here!” Hero screamed, kicking and hitting the trunk’s interior as they felt the car come to a stop.
A minute later, the trunk opened to reveal Villain.
“If you don’t get me out of here right now, I swear I'll—”
“What?” Villain interrupted Hero. “You’ll do what, exactly, Hero? You can barely best me on a good day. Right now, you’re drunk. You can’t even use your powers, so tell me. Exactly what do you think is about to happen right now?”
Hero spluttered, speechless.
“Good. I’m glad we see eye to eye.” Villain tugged Hero out of the trunk.
“But… but this isn’t your base..?” Hero was looking at a cheap apartment complex.
“No, it’s not. What, do you live in your base?”
“Yes.”
Now it was Villain’s turn to be speechless.
“What the hell do you expect?? My whole life is my work!”
“You have no life outside of work?” Villain stared.
“I don’t have time for life outside of work! I fight you, Other Villain, Vigilante when they get out of hand, and now I’m expected to help out with Supervillain too! When am I supposed to have time??”
“Well you seem to be able to find time to drink…” Villain muttered.
Hero shoved Villain away and fell, suddenly off balance. “You don’t know what it’s like!” They angrily swiped the tears out of their eyes. “I do everythingforeveryone! And then I make one mistake— Supervillain gets away with one hard drive— and I take all the heat!” Hero curled in on themself. “Sometimes… sometimes I don’t even know why I try…”
“Hero…”
“Don’t touch me!” Hero snapped, saying at Villain’s hand as it brushed their arm.
Villain stood in silence for a moment.
“I… I didn’t mean…” Villain crouched next to Hero. “Hero, I’m sorry…”
There was another long moment of silence before Villain helped Hero to their feet. “Come inside.”
In fanfiction there is a difference between being a good writer and a popular writer.
Just because you can write a well-structured story with dynamic and consistent writing and characters doesn’t mean you will be popular. And sometimes stories that have disorganized plots, mediocre writing, and/or OOC characters will be held up as the greatest things to ever exist.
Just because your writing isn’t popular doesn’t mean you are a bad writer. Don’t ever compromise who you are, who your characters are, your plot, your writing style, anything for the sake of readership.
There are popular writers everywhere. But there are only so many good writers.

Amen to this. Though it would be nice to be popular, in the end, you make fanfiction for yourself and anyone who just wants to read something about their favourite character/s. It is as simple as that and that is wholly more important than being popular!! :)
There’s nothing more disappointing than spending an hour in the shower, shaving and preparing under the knowledge that you’ll be having sex in the next few hours, only to be told that you won’t actually be getting any intimacy at all… getting all dolled up is so much work so I figured someone should get to see all my hard work. I’ve decided to do some underappreciated Disney characters and Kida was at the top of my list! Atlantis: The Lost Empire was like… my favorite movie when I was a kid and it hurts that Kida isn’t considered a Disney Princess.
The criminally underrated and underappreciated Emilia Jones, like Ella Purnell shes another english rose that seems to fly under the radar which is a shame given that shes a) really talented and b) very nice to look at!
