A Guardian ad Litem volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for children who have been abused, abandoned or neglected. A GAL volunteer fights for these children to protect their basic rights and essential needs while they are involved in the system.

We’re sharing some of our favorite National Volunteer Month features from recent years. 2017’s two-part web story how citizen science and other volunteer programs help engage the public in the care of their national marine sanctuaries.
These volunteers are involved in Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary’s Sanctuary Ocean Count, which offers the community a chance to monitor humpback whales from the shores of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi and Kauaʻi.

The Silent Film Lounge Cemetery Project: Los Angeles
Sister group of The Silent Film Lounge Group on Facebook. This is a volunteer group to clean the area around silent film stars graves in the Los Angeles area, and to plant flowers and plants to beautify their plots. Majority are at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. If you would like to volunteer, please join us! Tanganyika and Ghana were the first countries to participate. JFK welcomed the inaugural group of volunteers at the White House on August 28, 1961, to give them a personal farewell before their departure to Africa.

This video was filmed in mid-April. His name is Ritty and he was left alone for 40 days. He is a good and smart boy
The vets are taking care of him and he is already feeling better.
Every year on this day I spend a little time to listen to national anthem and national songs to charge myself up. We’re really lucky that we had the Pakistan Parade again after around 7 years. It was amazing seeing a national unity.
However this year, I’d like to share my resolution with you. Pakistan is going through a real tough time and we’re the ones who can either make it stand or fall. Little actions everyday can help positivity prevail in Pakistan. Its been long we’ve been hit by mass negativity. I don’t want the same forever, we can change it. We have amazing talent and opportunities in Pakistan and we should be proud of it. Recognizing the efforts of young heroes, activists, volunteers is really important too, these are the people working day and night for a better Pakistan, and we should encourage and appreciate them.
Lets take an oath today that we’ll keep doing our little actions for good no matter what, we’ll not let the negativity win. This is our land and we’re it’s heroes. The least we can do is, Hope. I hope Pakistan, do you?
