Symbolizes the balance between the shifts in the phases of the moon.
Although it might seems counter intuitive to look away from the floor in this balance posture, looking straight ahead or up is one little trick to keep balance in ardhachandrasana.
Hips are stacked vertically, so move gaze away from the floor!

Karthikeya Deepam. Lamps to honor Lord Karthikeya. My sister in laws hand drawn #kolam. Also called #rangoli or mandala.
It’s drawn from rice flour mixed with water and today on #karthikeyapournima #fullmoon these lamps on the mandala signify warding off evil and ushering in prosperity.

I’ve been drawn to #Navasana lately.
With the legs straight, the abdominals and hip flexors have to fight against the hamstrings to maintain the posture and balance on the tail bone.

In Hindu mythology; Manu carried the sacred Vedas, plants, animals and the Seven primal Sages in a boat through the waters of #pralaya and found refuge atop Mount Meru!
