I’m thinking I need a complete reset right now. I’ve been eating like crap and have been half-assing my workouts and just not really in the mindset I want to be in. So I’m gonna start taking things little by little and not put so much pressure on myself to give it my all right out of the gate. I think I expected too much and when I didn’t reach my expectations I felt defeated. So I’m gonna give myself smaller goals and more reachable goals that I know I’ll be able to exceed. One of my goals has been to hike Mission Peak. It’s a pretty famous hike in the Bay Arean with a total distance of 6.25 miles round trip with 2100 ft in elevation. I finally made it to the top! This hike is challenging because it’s on an incline the whole way up and there isn’t any shade to cover you. About 2.5 hours of hiking and climbing over rocks at the end… I made it to the top! My reward: 1. The feeling of accomplishment 2. A yummy bahn mi sandwich and 3. This view! First day of FIFO, it’s 8.30 and still 30 degrees in South Hedland! Sweaty as effff but just went for my first run in God knows how long! And actually did better than I thought! Mine was awesome! No school today for Arianna (nor tomorrow for EU and local elections) so we just hanged on the beach all day…
Ah wait, the second part Of the sentence was actually true one year ago…
This year we’re having the coldest May in 50 years and we’re still hanging around in jackets and foulards… Just like the second pic which wasn’t taken today either but on Easter Day… and it was warmer that day than now that we’re one month ahead.

So after this public complaint about things that no one can change, I already feel better and ready to face the next 3 days of heavy rain with a smile. .
